My daughter started a little summer business selling makeup. We needed something that would scan quickly and compatibe with her Surface Pro laptop. This is plug and play and it worked right out the box. We use it for receving inventory and for making sales. We were able to scan items easily from about 6-12 inches away from the scanner itself. I would buy another if i needed to.

I ordered this desktop omnidirectional scanner by Tera to aid in the “automation” of my inventory handling. I currently have a handheld scanner and it is increasingly cumbersome. It is so much easier and quicker just waving the item in front of the scanner instead of needing to pick up the handheld. With this sdesktop scanner I expect to be able to process inventory changes and additions much faster and efficiently. So this thing is asleep, and detects motion from like 10ft away. Haven’t come across a barcode or can’t scan. It even scanned barcodes on a phones screen. This helps a lot as it just sits on a desk and customers can just hold their ID picture on their phone and scan in. Employee doesn’t have to use the gun scanner anymore.

I got this for our store specifically because it looks like Hal 9000. Someone already printed a label that reads, “I can’t let you do that, Dave.” and put it on the bottom of the scanner.It works great and the employees are happy to not have to key in the item #s.No issues connecting or scanning. We just plugged it in and it works as expected. Hopefully it doesn’t take over the store. I’ll keep everyone posted.
