I couldn’t be happier with my purchase! The [Hiboy S2] scooter is everything I hoped for and more. It’s perfect for cruising by the waterfront, especially during those beautiful sunset rides. The build quality is top-notch, and it handles like a dream on various terrains (Best on flat pavements) Whether I’m riding in the early morning light or taking a dusk ride with the lights on, this scooter performs flawlessly. The battery life is great as long as you’re not on sport mode, but let me tell you, sport mode is an absolute blast for short joyrides! The lights not only add a cool factor but also make riding at night safe and enjoyable. The design is sleek, modern, and definitely turns heads. The only downside is that you can’t turn off the red lights—you have to have the front light on and red lights together.

After a months use, I would say it is very reliable. I have not touched water with the scooter as recomended not to. The battery charges fast, has the exact mile range, is a bit hefty in weight, and travels max 13 mph. Assembly was a few screws and value was definitely worth the cost. This has saved me tons of time commuting in dry weather and is very easy for starters.

This things is great. Its fast, has simple yet effective suspention, great light for riding at night, easily foldable/storable. Its easy to ride and has a solid feel. Has great speed and electric and hand brake in case you need to make a fast stop. It feels really sturdy/safe. Its holds charge quite well and I really enjoy using it. My only complaint is that the mode that actually goes 19mph sucks down the battery in what seems like 5 miles…The regular mode only goes 13mph if you want the full battery life. If you use the 19mph mode you’re likely only getting 5 miles of charge (4 if you’re using the lights). Overall, its great value and I highly recommend to anyone looking to purchase their own scooter.

This was a gift for a 5 foot 10-year-old who is 120 pounds. It fits her perfect and is easy for her to maneuver. She uses it to ride to other homes in the neighborhood. I like the fact that you can control the speed from the app, so she is unable to go faster than the max that is set for her. It is very well-made, almost too heavy for me to lift into the trunk of the car. Battery life seems to last forever. We’ve had not one issue with it over the past five weeks. Great purchase.

It is very high quality and it can reach 21 mph which is where it tops out. Very good bang for your buck and both my boys love the scooter. The only problem is that it doesn’t have crazy good battery life. It lasts about 2 hours and that’s not bad but it’s not super good anyway.

Don’t be fooled by all the available scooters out there this is a great commuter and has been a blast. It is an entry so expect feeling bumps and wanting to change the grips or tire for more comfort on the go. Seriously great buy and assembly is only 4 screws a charge!! OFF YOU GO!!

I bought a more expensive mega wheels 350w scooter a couple months ago and was cautiously optimistic about it, but shortly after the return window closed the thing just started sounding like it was falling apart and wouldn’t hardly go anymore. Contacting support is a bit of a joke… soooo…I decided to bite the bullet and purchase the Hiboy s2 and it’s just night and day!The build quality is sturdy! The scooter is very attractive and comfortable to ride. Going over bumps that would just jar me down to the bone on the mega wheels are hardly noticeable on this one. This thing is very peppy and has a lot of get up and go! It zips along quite nicely and keeps up with my other half’s scooter and passes them. The only thing I wish this one did was show the charging progress on the LCD screen and auto sense when to turn on the headlights like the mega wheels did. The tail light is a little bit comical though and really should be bigger, but it’s “something” that other scooters don’t have. The app is user friendly. The manual is well written and tells you how to adjust the brakes and suspension.I’ve not really had a chance to do a real endurance test on this yet, but I’m sure it won’t disappoint.Very pleased with this scooter so far!

Like many I was hesitant after reading so many negative reviews. I soon discovered many were user error and decided to purchase with my Prime account. It was delivered in 2 days. After opening the box I did started to assemble it. Right away I could not get the wires down far enough to install the handlebar. *There is a foam plug you need to remove with needle nose pliers. After doing this you can gently push the wires down. I found a way to cool them so that one part tucked up in the handlebar itself. The bigger end I stuffed in the down tube. I powered it on and the battery was at 48%. I connected to the app with no issues. The temporary PASSWORD is 888888. Once connected I changed it.*Something I want to mention that was very frustrating and gave me some anxiety about my purchase. Hopefully you do NOT do the same! So my Hiboy S2 was charging and I was curious if it would connect to the app. I opened the app and saw the scooter wasn’t showing up so I pressed the power button. In that moment it connected to the app and simultaneously turned off with a beep. It would NOT power on no matter what I did. I continued to charge it. Light was RED and charger was warm. After 3 hours the light was still red but charger was still RED. I unplugged (turned GREEN) and attempted to power on and it flashed once, beeped and shut off like it was plugged in still. It would NOT flash on again after many tries. I plugged and unplugged still nothing. Then out of curiosity I unplugged from the scooter and from the wall to the charger itself. The light STAYED GREEN for close to 30 seconds without power before going out!! I plugged everything back in and waited 5 minutes. Then unplugged the scooter and it powered on right away AND was at 100%.I have no idea what happened or why. But do NOT plug it in while it is ON or turn it ON while it is charging no matter what you hear or read!Having said all that, after backing off the 14mm shock bolts until only 3 threads were showing I rode it for about 4 miles. I’m 6’ 190lbs. It quickly accelerated to 19mph in sport mode. It did so consistently the route I was on. Up a small incline it went 15mph. I did the same loop many times. The ride was actually better than I expected. Sure the front is a little bit brittle over rough terrain but the REAR setup the I said was very plush. The bumps I felt in the front tire were non existent in the rear. It’s WAY smoother than a skateboard or kids Razor scooter. I was a bit twitchy for the first few minutes, but after relaxing my grip and bending my knees slightly things smoothed out a LOT! By the end I was doing the lap wide open using cruise control and no brakes. 19mph on the slight downgrade 15mph coming up. 12mph up a short steep “hump” on the trail. It was easy to fold, easy to carry and stow in the back of my Audi A4 Allroad. So far so good. I enjoyed my ride. I had fun most of all. Know how to use the different modes and you should have no problems. I did use the “eco” mode for the first few minutes until I got used to the throttle and acceleration.

If you’re in search of the perfect electric scooter, look no further than the Hiboy S2. As someone who relies on this scooter for daily commuting, I can confidently say that the Hiboy S2 exceeds expectations for the price of the unit. This scooter delivers unparalleled performance. Its foldable design and powerful motor make every ride a joyride. Plus, with its long battery life, I never have to worry about running out of power or losing performance halfway through my trip.

I have been using this scooter for almost 4 months continuously now, and I have found many things about it. First is that it is quite fast and lasts me more than a week for me on my college campus where I use it to get to class every day. But the main issue I have with this scooter is the brakes. They are very grabby, and the first time I used it I almost got thrown off the front. The regen brake should be pressed very lightly to slow down slowly, but the disc brake is usually fine. Overall, this is a great buy considering the price and the fact that when the battery is above 50%, it can climb decent inclines at speed.

This is a very sturdy big scooter. My daughter is 11 and I would t not buy it for anyone younger than that. She has used it several times and was super easy and a fun ride. So far so good.

I have now owned this scooter for 18 months, use it for about ten minutes a day/six days a week, and it’s still going strong with ZERO issues. The people who complain about the battery life are very likely keeping this on a charger at all times, which, of course, is absolutely the worst thing you can do for a rechargeable battery. Charge the scooter, run it down to when it needs another charge, charge it until the green light is lit, and then immediately take it off the charger. A year and a half later, it still goes 19mph, and I charge the scooter every 1-2 weeks whenever the battery indicator turns red.I have ridden this scooter through rain AND light snow with no issues. The rear brake rotor and caliper WILL rust if you get them wet, so you’ll just need to clean them/keep the fasteners/brake cable oiled, and you’ll be fine.My only issue with this scooter are the solid tires/wheels. As I stated in my title, this is a short-range scooter, and the hard wheels are to blame. Unless you’re riding on a very smooth surface (mine is primarily used as transportation back and forth to a garage in my apartment complex, and all of the surfaces are paved blacktop), you probably won’t like this model. I rode this scooter about two miles on sidewalks, and the main road, and it was an extremely rough ride. If you’re looking for a scooter to commute with, and you’re going to be riding on asphalt, or main roads, you’re going to want a scooter with inflatable tires. They require more maintenance, and an air pump, but the ride is MUCH smoother and more comfortable. Spending another couple hundred dollars would be well worth it in that situation. However, for this particular model, it does exactly what it claims it can do, and has given me absolutely zero problems in almost two years (I even wrecked it at full speed once, and there’s not a scratch on it). Fantastic product and a great value!

3rd update: 14 months after purchase. I had an accident with this scooter and the throttle broke. I contacted the manufacturer to see if I could get a replacement and they offered to send me both the throttle and the broke. Phone holder, free of charge. Great customer service!2nd update 4 months after purchase: I have to revise my review of this company once again. They are TOP in customer satisfaction, response, problem solving and inquiries. The scooter rides great, looks great and has a long battery life. Maybe in future they will reconsider the closure hook and use a better design there. They seem to be really focussed on their product and their customers so I believe they will continue improving over time.UPDATE: The company “HiBoy” has been very open and eager to resolve our issues (below) and very supportive. For that reason I am happy to change my overall rating to 4 Stars (****) increased from 3.This is a lovely scooter. Stylish, easy to use, solid tires (no flats!), disk brake, great lights, fast. However there are two extremely important design drawbacks: UPDATE: Point 1 below is more of a dumb design but Point 2 below remains an important drawback.1. The body of the scooter does not have any place where a lock can be passed through to securely lock the scooter outside if necessary.UPDATE: After some research apparently it is possible to lock the scooter around the body just behind the front wheel (on the angled part). Provided that the lock is tight enough to the body that the scooter body or stem/headset can’t be passed through the lock and removed, it is pretty secure. We have not tried this yet.and….relating to the above and to the idea that there is no way to lock it up outside….2. When we fold the scooter and clip the top to the rear fender, the “clip” in fact is an open hook which catches a spring action loop built into the rear fender. As long as you keep tension on that hook (ie by holding the scooter from that portion), the loop stays in the hook. As soon as the stem of the scooter relaxes toward the body, the hook falls out of the loop and the scooter opens up (“flops” open).Given that the scooter is about 30lbs, it is reasonable that a normal person would occasionally “rest” the folded scooter while carrying it. But if s/he does, the scooter will awkwardly fall open and potentially cause damage or physical injury. So where we ourselves really wanted to have a scooter that folded up for ease of transportation, it’s not well designed for that at all.I anticipate our finding another way of securing the fold, perhaps by installing a rock-climbing clip somehow, so that the stem can be held securely attached to the body when folded. UPDATE: We did find a way to secure the fold. Our “solution” is not very functional and it’s ugly as well. We are going to try locking as updated in Point 1 above, which will hopefully solve the problem.

It delivered on Sept. 30th 2021. I have edited this review on Dec. 15th 202 April 26, 2022 & Nov. 4, 2023.I am a disabled Vet and needed something to get around Downtown Seattle and transit with. I’m kinda gimpy. So walking and carrying is tough for me. It hurts…lolAssembly w/seat is very simple. The app download is very simple. Settings are very simple.I am 5’9 235 lbs. it goes 15 MPH on flats, and less on modest inclines >6-7% grade. You may get a 15% grade if you are >180 lbs. Otherwise it’s > 9-12% grade, and if you are low on power (> 50%) you’ll notice it degrades just slightly on speed and torque. 5-6 MPH is what I get on 13% grade @235 lbs.The seat is the game changer! Buy a seat. You will enjoy your ride so much more and you’ll want to ride more often.Lights are bright and the scooter is super stable at speed.Overall, it’s a very nice scooter. It gets me to all the places I need to go within a 5 mile radius. The regen brake didn’t do much it seemed. EDIT: I was WRONG. I am in a new area/address. It’s nothing but hills. I can go 7 miles round trip in downtown Seattle. I have had it to 31 MPH. The regen brakes are relevant for sure at those speeds. I can tell because I get 3 charge bars w/o an issue. It’s prolly 4-5 bars but at those speeds I am not looking down, I am way ahead with my eyes. At 20 mph I glance. 3 bars. DO NOT go faster than 20 unless you have nerves of steel, fast reflexes and years of riding experience. I did it once so you don’t have to.I found this scooter w/seat for $394.70 “used” at Amazon.com. I feel that it’s an amazing bargain for this scooter for that price.I had no surprise issues with the scooter being “used”. The carton appeared compromised at the corner, the styrofoam corner bumper packing had been worn like it was drug on the ground. It was missing the manual. The manual is online. The scooter is like new. Everything was original packing except for the cord twist ties and the shipping box. I am super pleased with my purchase.Range is greatly increased when you run 1/2 throttle. Set cruise control at 10 MPH and comfort mode to start. Finding Google map routes that are not steep hills is the best route. Be careful in the wet with street painted stripes and idiot bumps. It’s a bit clunky to commute with at first. I am a pro now after 3 weeks. You must fold and carry it everywhere on buses. It’s great for running to the store for milk and bread! It’s terrific for little trips! You’ll get noticed for sure. Everyone loves the scooter. I let all the adults ride it around the lot, up and down the street. Everyone wants one and suddenly comes up with a shaky reason why they MUST own one. “It’ll help me get more work done” w/o actually being able to state exactly what work it would help with. The shock absorbers are really nice. If they are too stiff. Adjust them. You should be getting a nice cushioned rebound. Not bottoming out or too stiff/no flex at all. If it’s properly adjusted, you will get a nice rebound when you sit down. Mine came adjusted too tight, but broke in nicely. I wear a backpack with 20 lbs. Total weight is 250-260 lbs. and I get a nice comfy smooth absorption and rebound. The hook on the handlebars is perfect for a full bag of groceries if you are seated and your knees naturally keep the bag centered. It’s very easy actually. It is about as waterproof as you can get. Everything is sealed nicely. Seattle weather doesn’t seem to bother it at all.It is an unbelievably necessary piece of equipment for me now. Uber and rental share scooters are spendy. My scooter has saved wear and tear on my knees and hips. I actually go out and do more things now because of money saved and the convenience. In Seattle I go faster than traffic often. I stay with traffic going downhill. DO NOT do that because it’s really sketchy unless you really know what you are doing. The thing turns on a dime if you have good turning technique. It turns well for novices and up though even if you have poor technique.Safety tip: You can under extreme circumstances “Bunny Hop” the scooter if you are about to bury the front tire and go head over tea kettle. The handle bars will not fail you. Summary…I am getting an s2 Pro for Christmas.I have had to use Hiboy customer service 3 times now. I can not say enough good things about the folks at Hiboy. The customer service is as good as I’ve ever had anywhere. Anywhere! It’s been a real treat to work with them. Parts come from California in 2-3 days. The scooter is easy to work on. Being disabled it means a lot to me. I am dirt poor and need to fix things if I can. I can work on this scooter and fix just about anything on it w/o any trouble. It’s really satisfying to fix something yourself. This little scooter is incredibly empowering! You are not going to find a better product for a better price with better customer service anywhere else. This scooter is worth every penny. The customer service is priceless.NOV. 4 2023 EDIT: Sadly, my little Hiboy S2 was stolen last week. I’m here to finish my review for “ol’ Trusty”.”Ol Trusty” continued to perform flawlessly for well over 1500 miles. The little 8″ tire on the back STILL HAD TREAD! The front was a slick for about 100 miles. (spinning tires accidently) Stick a foot out “motocross style” front axle high when starting to avert that. Just stick a leg out there. It’s a “me” issue and not a scooter issue. It has always been stored indoors. The battery was always immediately charged again at home full charge after riding ready for the next ride. The charger shuts off automatically/no overcharging is even possible.Seattle weather is no match for the S2. It stays in the bike racks in the full weather and never failed. When the rain was really pounding? It did put a grocery bag over it just to make over abundance of care so I ain’t walking home. Little shower caps or if you buy a seat it comes with a cover works well. My biometric lock never failed so get one (about 25 bucks).A friend surprised me with a new S2. “It’s my identity” one person said when I told them the sad story about the end of “Ol Trusty”. It’s become an indispensable mobility device that improved my quality of life to the point that after all this time. I actually HAVE A LIFE!…LMAO! My back and hip isn’t killing me before I get to events. I can actually enjoy the time there fully. Like walking off of light rail 2/3 of a mile to Lumen Field as opposed to scooting past 1000’s of people. Parking at the bike racks and walking 50 feet to the gate. Instead of walking 10 blocks to play pinball? I ride and can stay and play for a long time. It literally goes everywhere with me. I take transit and do not drive. It’s an amazing piece of equipment that takes a beating and can go anywhere and everywhere. One last great piece of news! The newest version has a larger front tire. It makes a big difference in overall performance and comfort. The seat has been greatly upgraded. Suitable for folks with a real life badonkadonk. I can attest!I’ll update this with my new one so stay tuned.

First, no dislikes. I was looking for an e-scooter over the past year for recreational riding and short market runs in Phoenix AZ. After comparative shopping, I decided on this scooter due to its price/value, 350w motor, lithium battery, product weight (I have a flight of stairs to my apartment), top speed and mileage.Building is fairly easy–it comes with most tools needed although a Phillips and socket wrench are needed as well.Fit and finish is good, assembly is easy, the seat is the most challenging part to install, but it is helpful when cruising. The scooter can be used without a cell phone, but one is needed to adjust certain things (default top speed is 13mph, it can be raised via a cell phone, but 13 mph I like since faster is challenging when I have to ride on sidewalks on busy main avenues.Starting is easy, you turn it on, put your finger on the accelerator button (I recommend slight pressure because it can accelerate from a standing stop faster than most cars), and you kick off.I practiced in a quiet parking lot, it was a good place to start, and in twenty minutes I was ready to take it on the open road. Once you hit top speed, cruise control kicks in with two beeps, although I always keep my right hand on the brake just in case a panic stop is required.Battery usage is spot on. I am an average sized man, six foot, 180#, and on a seven mile circuit, with one 15% 500 foot incline, I used just two bars of the battery, which has five LED indicators. The basic LED display is easy to read in the daylight. The scooter has front and back lights. It is said charging takes six hours, I was surprised though, having only charged it once after about 15 mph of use, that it went from one to five bars in just a few hours. This product seems to be a fast seller–I just purchased from Amazon last week–with nine left, and it was sold out as of today for now, 3/6/2021.There are many scooters at twice the price that do the same thing this one does, just for $500 including tax and shipping.Last, the motor is whisper quiet, it does not sound stressed when I ride it, and at 13mph, with the breeze, I cannot hear it at all. I may or may not increase the speed, or braking and acceleration, I am happy with the defaults. On a 15 pct. grade, it did slow to about 5mph, so in hilly areas, it is less practical than say an electrified bike. The scooter does have a pull up locking mount in the back, if you want to lock it at a market. They also sell cheap wheel alarms for it as well, and others like it.
