These worked well when activated, however, the gel started to leak out the bigger that they got. They are very slimy. Once the threat of flooding is over, I have found that these cannot be reused. This was the whole purpose of buying these so I would not have to get sandbags. It is a waste in the long run. Next time I will order the ones you put water in, at lease you can release the water and reuse them.

I have a low area near my pool deck screen door that floods easily and the water floods onto my deck. I bought Quick Dam and used it recently to try and stop the flooding of my deck during Hurricane Milton, I do not live in an area of storm surge, and the gell strips worked and stopped the flooding. I can honestly recommend this product for similar problems.

I first heard about Hurricane/ Tropical Storm Helene coming to our area Wednesday morning and Ordered the Quick Dam Water Barrier. I just went ahead and ordered it even though it was stated that delivery would not take place until Saturday. I was going to have faith and I was actually feeling a little desperate. We needed to use the Quick Dam in front of our basement door to keep the water out. The forecast was an unprecedented 5 to 10 inches of rain in a 72 hour period. Somehow, I am not sure how they did it, Amazon was able to deliver the Quick Dam when we needed it most and that was Thursday evening just before the tropical storm would hit our area!! It had already been raining because of another weather phenomena (a cold front coming in). That Thursday night, it rained and rained and it continued into Friday. That Thursday night/ early Friday morning we had rain on our porch but the Quick Dam did its job and kept the water out of our basement. By Friday afternoon, the water on the porch receded. The Quick Dam gave our drainage system time to catch up and move the water away from our porch and our basement door.I don’t write many reviews but I had to write this one to say: Thank-you.

I got the twin pack of two 5′ bags but they worked very well. In the photo, the water puddles were from gaps further to the right; the bag I put down soaked up ALL the rain water coming in from the left gap at the door. I placed the other 5ft bag on the outside and it’s MUCH bigger, soaking up quite a lot of water there, as well. This is a problem spot but one that can be remedied by getting a full 10ft bag for the outside, then using these two 5ft bags along the inside. The rain these soaked up was pretty heavy for about 3 hours or so, so they definitely did a great job. I’m about to order the 10ft bag for the outside… 🙂

Used to get water in the basement when it rained hard for years. Sealed the basement walls with waterproof but water still came in whatever I tried. These stopped the water from flowing everywhere and directed the water to the drain which was great. Years latter a handyman had a camera and ran it in the gutter finding it was blocked underground and the water began backing up and overflowing. It was very hard to detect at the gutter but has been fixed by directing it away from the house underground and back up and out. No longer water in the basement.

Bought it for my brother, and his came in handy when area flooded. Worked great for him,,,So we bought one for ourselves to have on hand “just in case”, and Wow does it work great. Basement would have flooded…but all was soaked in by the water barrier. We dried them out and have them on hand in case of another emergency. Very worth it.Recommend.

Florida weather is crazy and unpredictable. Bought these last minute with next day delivery. I placed them outside my doors and as soon as the rain came about to flood my home they absorbed the water and blocked it. They feel squishy. I decided to leave them outside for the season. This is lightweight, unfolds easy, looks fine, serves it’s purpose, and I’m satisfied with the purchase.

Comparatively I’d say they worked pretty well! I live in Florida so it storms everyday and I just got tired of my patio flooding. Especially since it’s a screened in patio so it’s difficult getting the water out. The ONLY reasons I didn’t give 5 stars is because -1. It released some of the gel filler once it got put to work the first time but that warning is listed on the label/packaging. I have a dog so my concern is not getting it all cleaned up and him eating it.2. I left it for a day in the sun and it’s still completely swelled with water. Seems like the only way to get it out is to squeeze it out which then results to the filling getting all over my hands and patio.I’m hopeful that after a couple uses the filling will stop coming out and I’ll figure out the best method to get the water out of it. Even with these minor problems, I still highly recommend! I strongly believe it’ll serve its purpose for hurricane season.
