This office chair mat lasted me 2 solid years of service, and I just ordered my replacement. Once it arrives, make sure to follow the included directions to avoid cracks in the plastic. If you are having trouble getting it to uncurl, leave it out in the sun for a couple of hours and it will flatten out perfectly.

I only used the mat for around 2 weeks. The mat itself is just too weak. I am not a big guy at 170 lbs and I found that within the first day the mat would have indents from the chair wheels. The wheels would then be stuck in these wells and it was difficult to roll myself out. When I did finally roll my chair out, gravity would just pull me back into the void. So repositioning myself was close to impossible. The product says “works best with 1/4″ thick carpet” and I measured before buying as well as right before writing this review. My carpet is 1/4″ thick pile. Why didn’t this work for me? Maybe the thickness of the mat (2.2mm) is too thin, who knows. I ended up ordering another mat, double the price but I can tell is significantly thicker. I am barely making an impression on the new mat. Now I have to figure out what to do with this old thin mat. I am still within the return window but I no longer have the box and I am not going to want to roll this thing up. I guess I will just take the L and eat the cost.

I bought this chair mat 2 years, 10 months ago. I work from home so I’ve been sitting in a chair on this mat 8-10 hours/day 5 days a week during that time. I weight about 200 lbs, so that’s a lot of weight on the mat. It didn’t crack until about two months ago, and it finally became unusable last week. Getting nearly 3 years out of it was more than I expected for the price. I just bought a new one and set it under my desk/chair tonight.I will say that shipping isn’t the best. It arrives in a tube and takes 2 people to unroll. The directions say to place heavy heavy objects on the mat for 24 hrs to uncurl it. Placing those objects is hard, even with 2 people, because the mat is so tightly curled. I had to leave my boxes of kitty litter and stacks of books for 4 days before it was flat. So, be prepared for that. Still, overall, it’s a great product for the price.

I needed this for my office space that has plush carpet that was keeping me from rolling around correctly. It’s a little hard to unroll but if you have carpet the teeth catch to it which makes it easier. The plastic is hard enough to let me roll my chair around. The downside is that it creates divots where you spend long periods of time in and they don’t revert back so after 3 months I’ve got a a bunch of little caves that keep me from rolling smoothly. Again this is based off the surface of a very plush carpet so it could be different on other flooring.

Taking the hit from another reviewer, I warmed this up for about an hour w/a space heater before I unrolled it & an hour or so after with heavy books on the corners. Perfect. My old one – like 15 yrs old, was totally cracked & the chair would not move. This one has better teeth for traction. I think it’s as heavy duty as those in office stores for half the price. I’m quite pleased.

I thought this was going to be the hard plastic that you usually get in an office but it’s more of the softer plastic so in that sense I was a little disappointed.Because sometimes the chair that I use which is a regular office chair.But sometimes my office chair will not want to roll freely on top of the mat. It seems to get stuck. Other than that it’s nice and looks great.

My husband’s office chair rolls easily on this. It was kind of hard to unroll. We set heavy objects in 6-8 spots around the edge, for a couple of days, with the desk chair in the center. Since then, it has laid flat.

Key to this product is to follow instructions. Lay it out with weight on the edges for at least 12 hours. It is then ready for installations. Caster on my chair glide easily across surface and protect carpet

It came rolled up and very stiff, but I found, from tips of other buyers, that if I warmed the roll with a hair dryer or in the sun or as I did since I had the fireplace going, it was great. I stood it on end in front of the fireplace…about 12 inches away. Since the plastic was very stiff because it was delivered on a very cold day, it took a couple of hours to soften. I kept it in front of the fireplace for a few hours. After it softened I was able to unroll it by myself. I laid it down, smooth side up, on carpeting, then put heavy items on each corner and let it stay overnight. It was remarkable how it flattened. I probably should have put a couple of heavy items in the center also because it does bulged just a little on the floor so I put a chair as well as a couple of heavy items on the bulges after I put the mat under my sewing table which has carpeting all around. Made a big difference rolling my chair over it instead of on the carpeting.

This mat is ok, but it is not as nice as 2 that I bought locally about 5 years ago. This mat comes rolled, and it took about 48 hours, a lot of heavy books, and 2 people to flatten. The ones that I bought locally were sold flat and are slightly thicker, but I can no longer find a source. This mat looks nice and works. Just know that you will need time and a helper to flatten it.

I purchased this to use on our new carpet as not to leave marks from my office chair. Our carpet is very plush and thick and my chair does not roll around on this like it would if I had a less plush carpet however it still works and does the job I want which is not to leave chair indentations in the new carpet.

I purchased this several months ago (early 2023) as my old one which was badly falling apart and needed replacement. I am not on a wood floor, nor a short cut carpet, it’s a short to medium shag on a basement (finished room) cement floor. I’m glad that I got this, it makes my office space in our spare bedroom with carpet a lot easier to use with my office chair. It was difficult to unroll and flatten. I put some heavy cast iron pans on the corners and let it sit for a few days. Now it lays flat no problem so not a huge inconvenience, worth it for the price.

It’s still young but my chair is rolling on it a lot so it has some decent traffic in a short amount of time. Product is flexible not stiff so it’ll sink into carpets a little. It has little spikes on the bottom to grip carpet and not slide around. It does the job I wanted it to do but I will say it could be stiffer than what it is.

Bought 2 of theses for my new double computer desk , but didn’t know I was going to end up with them directly on cement , trust me buy the smooth floor ones if using on a smooth surface , my chairs will barely roll on these now because they are made for low profile carpet and have little nubs all over the back side that kinda stop chair from rolling on smooth surfaces 🙁 my bad 🙁 anyhow nice product though !

I use my mat on carpet. It was a bit hard to unroll, but once unrolled it took over a week to lay completely flat. It works great on my carpet that’s a bit thicker. I was a bit skeptical about this because there aren’t many option of these and the reviews aren’t the best overall but I desperately needed one for my office as I just moved into a room that now has carpet and my chair wouldn’t roll. I ended up with this one and I haven’t had any problems with it’s durability so far. I was worried it would crack like some people have had in the other reviews but so far, I’ve been using it for 2 months and haven’t had any issues. It does slightly move over time so you do end up having to adjust it back into place once a month or so but so far it’s been good. I do wish the price was a bit cheaper though. These things are pretty expensive. I will update later on if I ever have any issues with it.

I am using this in my office which has longer carpet and it does work fairly good. but it is not a really think mat so it does contour to the carpet where the chair casters meet. So it is not ideal for longer carpet but it works great for shorted carpet.

At first I thought this floor mat would be a huge tripping hazard because the edges were somewhat raised. I put it outside on the warm deck, let it sit for a bit, then brought it in and it was much better on the carpet. Perfect in fact.
