This product is so well worth the cost, it is large and sturdy. You can mount a phone in well and can angle it however you choose. The height can change too depending on what you want to use it for. It goes much taller than me (I’m 5ft6in). It comes with a remote control and it’s super easy to assemble / deassemble!

I maintain a private web page of technical information and reviews, and have been trying to get more pictures added in to illustrate my choices of hardware and show walk-throughs of various construction projects. Lighting is always a problem for me though, and I bought this ring light recently to try to solve my problems of deep shadows, poor contrast, and glare. So far, this light has worked out really well in all those areas.The light is larger (wider) than the pictures in the listing suggest, and has a large number of individual LED modules in the ring, so it produces a very even lighting. I’m not using it for portraits so I don’t need the orange diffuser or the remote. The body of the light is all plastic, which gives it a kind of cheap feel, but it’s sturdy and being lightweight should help others. (it might not survive drops well, so be careful with it, make sure it doesn’t get knocked over while in use) The stand is a thin metal which also feels a little cheap but that’s good for the same reason as the body. The feet extend out quite a bit and create a surprisingly wide support base. Before i attached the diffuser, I found I was seeing speckles of light glare reflected off some of the shinier surfaces, but those “stars” all disappeared as soon as I attached the diffuser. I suppose the orange one creates better lighting for portrait pictures?It comes with a large power brick with an okay length cord. (could be a little longer, but that’s not hard to fix with an extension cord) The dimmer is built into the bottom of the light, and has knob to turn to adjust brightness. The control does a great job of adjusting the brightness, and I love the feel of the knob, you can feel tiny “steps” as you turn the knob. It’s also fully adjustable all the way down to completely off. Thankfully, the cord unplugs at the light, so I’m not struggling to manage a cord permanently attached to the ring.The light comes with several accessories for use with a regular camera as well as clipping a smart phone. There’s also a little remote that I assume you can use with a downloaded app on your phone to trigger the shutter remotely, though I don’t have any use for that and haven’t checked it out. The light and accessories ship in a nice bag but the tripod is in its own box and cannot be stored in the bag that the light came with, which is a shame. But with the tripod fully collapsed, I’ve found it can be set snugly below your hand / on top of the bag as you carry it, so that will help with those that need portability. I would also suggest getting a small, stiff-walled zip pouch to carry the light’s power pack and phone brackets with inside the main bag, because it has no inner pouch for these and just dropping them into the big bag to run around free is probably a bad plan.And not that I need it personally, but I think a battery pack option would be a very useful accessory with this light, which would improve its portability. The pack is 15vdc 4 amps, which may make finding a battery pack a challenge since I’d expect 12v power to be more common.So this is a great light for the price. There are only a few minor issues with it that can be addressed if needed, totally acceptable considering this light is like 1/3 the price of a more professional set with similar features and performance.

I have many ring lights in all different sizes. This is my favorite. It’s true white light rather than the yellow many have. It has many little lights on the inside instead of a single circle bar, increasing the look and quality. It’s easy to use and adjust. Unlike a different 18″ ring light that I own, this one’s tripod doesn’t fall flat on the floor. The only thing I might change is the cellphone holder because I prefer the one from one of my other ring lights. Overall fantastic ring light.

I’d like to post an update on this review originally i bought the standing light and I didn’t like it because it was too bulky for me and then fit behind a desk for my purposes of what I needed. Neewer reached out very quickly to me via email to ask how they could make it up to me and sent me this complimentary light that I absolutely love !! it has the perfect amount of light and it is very good quality just what I needed for my Facebook lives, I would like to commend Neewer for a very good customer experience because they sent me the light quickly within two days. the light that I did order originally just didn’t fit my purposes so I think if you’re interested in that bigger light it might be suited for you maybe if you do like standing lives: standing videos, but my videos are from my desk so I needed more of a ring light for a desktop.Original review :Too big and bulky stand does not fit behind a desk because legs spread out. I returned this and ended up getting a ring light for my desk. My assumption is this light is used for standing or modeling clothes. For doing Facebook lives it’s too much light and made me look tan and is too strong for my eyes.

I love this ring light but the phone holder i do not care for. The phone holder slides out no matter how many times I tighten it. I do want to mention that the company has great customer service and is sending me a new phone holder. I cannot comment on it as i havent received it yet but ive never had as great of customer service as i did with this product. So customer service is top knotch. Overall light works well and does give off good light.i increased a star for customer service but keeping it at 4 stars due to the phone holder issue. I hope this helps anyone who is researching.

d. Not bad for a beginner light but sure is a pain in the butt. I’ve had this ring light for about a month & a half, used it 25+ times. The clicker that connects to your phone via Bluetooth is handy. I have an iPhone 7+ which barely fits in the phone holder in the middle of the ring light. Each time I spread the phone holder open to put my phone in it, I feel like it’s going to break but it hasn’t yet. It’s difficult to adjust the phone holder to get it to stay still. When I photograph products for eBay, with the ring light horizontally, the tripod needs additional support or it will fall over. It’s difficult to adjust the tripod height if you have to do it very often. The screw that holds the tripod extender has stripped the plastic piece & will only screw in so far now. The bottom of the tripod isn’t sturdy enough to hold the light, the 3 legs keep spreading farther & farther apart. The power cord is a decent length & not too short. The light is very bright with an adjustable brightness knob that works well. Today the light fell over on my head while I was adjusting a product that I was photographing. It hit my head hard & I now have a goose egg on my head. This is my 2nd ring light. The first one was less money but it broke rather quickly. I paid $89 as a lightning deal for the ring light here that I’m reviewing and it was not worth that much. This light should be priced under $50. If you have money to waste & want to learn how ring lights work, then get this but expect that it won’t last very long & plan on spending lots of time adjusting the thing.

This is wildly bright, so if that’s what you’re looking for you got it. Be careful for your eyes, as it could be damaging. I barely turn the gage up at all and get lots of light. Slight drawbacks are: we can’t figure out how to snap the covers on the ring in so that they are right. We can get them to stay but they aren’t quite snapped in right. Second, they give choice of white light covers which make the person SUPER WHITE or these orange ones which make the person ORANGEY. We are going to try next time mixing the white and orange to see if we get a more natural look. We haven’t figured out how to use or assemble the gadgets and parts that came with it. Be careful with the phone holder, it will pinch the crap out of your fingers.

LOVE this ring light and great for the price however the latch that keeps the stand from sliding down at the bottom breaks fairly easily so i had to purchase a new one within 2 years. Now my old one is being used as an extra lamp😭 so hopefully that can be fixed in the future assembly wise. Otherwise i love it!
