The product is poorly packaged from the manufacturer. The 7-way plug has an extended lip used to open the cover. The loose packaging allows the unit to shift around in the box and depending on how the box is handled it can break off. Another customer posted a picture of the exact damage I have. The tool itself is well put together and the quality is good. It works as designed. You’ll get a workout as you have to circle the trailer after each selection since it manually tests one circuit at a time.Keep in mind, you will have to get a battery and a 7-way cable to use this tool. A straight cable is a better option if you’re going to leave the tool on the ground while testing.Overall, including the damage, I’m happy with the purchase. I do feel like the manufacturer needs to add some foam to prevent damage but I’d definitely buy another one if need be.

There are two different models and it doesn’t tell you the difference between them until you get it and you see the function switch in the 9102 must be for a tractor-trailer different test functions than a 9201 which I need it so I now have an adapter I don’t need and I had to send it back purchased the correct one spent more money and I have an adapter that I don’t need other than that the unit should work well and it’s well built

So i didnt really use a conventional battery i actually hooked it up to a Bauer battery, real lightweight , its plastic and im sure if you mistreat it , it will break but its really nice. I check trailer chassis and this makes it realll easy to check

Definitely worth the money if you’re lazy like me and didn’t want to make your own. It really helped me out when preforming DOT inspections on drop trailers.
