The 10 mm bolt securing the transmission dipstick on the 2016 Mazda CX-5 (yes it has a dipstick that you can reach from under the hood!) is down toward the bottom of the engine, but with this socket, it came out easily.Pull up on the tab to pull the dipstick, check it, and put back the bolt with socket. Done.

Working on my airplane, got in a reworked cylinder and it had a square-ended pipe plug in the place where the fuel injector nozzle went. I went to all the hardware places, tool stores, and even called plumbers and their suppliers – no one had this! So I found this one on Amazon from this supplier, the price was $20 lower than most specialty tool suppliers. It was great quality, fast delivery, and worked. I will probably never use it again! But when you gotta have it, you gotta have it.

Seems sturdy and well made. This is great for working on cars, a lot of stuff takes 10mm these days (engine covers, under shields, sensors, coils, lights, various panels — at least on the cars I typically mess with). I’m pretty bad about dropping nuts and bolts so I definitely needed this. All I could find before (magnetic) was a nut driver insert for impacts and drills, which I guess is fine until you need an extension or can’t fit a power tool. I wish it was a little deeper since occasionally I have to remove closed-end nuts and it won’t turn them. Obviously it was designed for bolts and flat nuts. Nothing wrong with that, if it was deeper it probably wouldn’t grab regular bolts and flat nuts as well. Definitely worth the money, cars are enough of a headache without losing nuts and bolts in places you didn’t realize existed.
