      Quality, heavy duty sharpener. Works great on pencils & colored art pencils. Easy to empty. Empty the collection tray after each use. The small plastic part that triggers the sharpener when closed did break off the collection tray shortly after we purchased (sharpener will not engage or spin if this piece is missing!!), so we just pushed it into place so sharpener would continue to function. This is why a rating of 4 stars

      LONG STORY SHORT:This pencil sharpener is great. High quality, gets the pencils really sharp, plenty of room in the little collection bin for the shavings. I purchased it for use in my wood shop, might buy another for my office.PROS:-Sharp Pencils.-Large shaving collection bin.-Quiet and efficient.CONS:-I remember I used to have an electric pencil sharpener that, when the pencil was sharp, you could tell that, although the motor was still running, the pencil was no longer being shaved away. It sounded different, like there was a stopper internally to keep it from just going and going. This doesn’t have anything like that, so if you’re not careful, you could just keep grinding your pencils down to nubs. Not a huge deal, just took me a little getting used to.CONCLUSION:if you’re looking for a reasonably priced, high quality electric pencil sharpener, look no further. This one works great.

      Don’t be fooled by the size of the sharpener. Approximately the size of a small boxy alarm clock, this sharpener packs a powerful punch in sharpening your pencil. The sharpener is quick and reveals a good amount of graphite/lead in your pencil allowing ample pencil point to use ( as opposed to some sharpeners that are week and only reveal a small point of useable writing surface). Price point is good for an effective desk top sharpener. Cleanup is easy. Sharpener does not move around on table surface when sharpening pencils.

      I sharpened 100 colored pencils (multiple different brands, varied shapes) and this sharpener only took/ate 1 tip off a pencil. So out of 100 it only momentarily jammed it once.It has a large capacity so you don’t have to empty it as frequently – but it does mean it isn’t slim.Not as loud as I anticipated, but still makes noise.

      I needed a pencil sharpener for my house. I have sharpened 24 pencils so far. The sharpener has worked great so far. I am curious to see if the sharpener works on map colors. Time will tell if the sharpener will hold up. The price was very good!!
