This will come in handy for gift wrapping, always disliked when I saw the tape that takes away the beauty and efforts from a wrapped gift. I was confused at first with the tape, but realized you have to remove all the pre tape (with letters on the tape), before you get to the actual double sided tape.

Holds well

I bought this to hold my mousepad and wrist-rest on the desk. Normally, after a while they get bumped around and the gel button gets exposed to dust making them no longer sticky. They then start sliding all the time and are a huge pain. This tape holds them in place with no chance of them getting bumped over and picking up dust. I’m sure these would work amazingly with tape paper!

Very useful for variety of unexpected tasks. Hold is quite strong. We like it.

Directions on the packaging re starting the roll would help. After tearing off a short (1/2″) piece I spent 20 minutes trying to peal off the “protective backing”. Finally found the secret on the website. Imagine someone without internet (they do exist) buying this off the shelf and not having a clue how to use it.

On both sides

Highly reliable Scotch product from 3M, my favorite tape, this one is great where you need it sticky on both sides, way better than the cheap stuff

Other people pointed out having a hard time peeling the protective layer off. I, too, had this problem. I came to Amazon and lo and behold – there is no protective layer. Despite the appearance of the protective layer in the beginning, that is all it is – in the beginning. Once you make it past that, then the tape starts, without a protective layer.

My experience with other double face adhesive tape throughout the years has always necessitated peeling off a non-sticky protective layer which would expose the second side of the tape so that it could be used. But this product just has a long blank ‘leader’ section on the roll which is to be discarded. The rest of the roll has two sticky sides, so there’s no need to remove a layer before use. You just need to peel off enough of the leader to reach the useful double sided tape.I didn’t see anything on the package to alert me to that fact, so it might be a good idea for 3M to consider printing that info somewhere on the package for those who are unfamiliar with this particular tape,
