This unit works very well. Easy to use, easy to empty.

Shredding has never been my favorite task. In fact, I avoided it until absolutely necessary. This has changed with my purchase of this Bonsaii shredder. So far, every irritating aspect of previous shredders is missing. It’s a pleasure to use because it actually works as advertised. No overheating has occurred with normal use. Really shreds into small enough pieces that no one will bother taping together. Simple where it should be simple yet sturdy and well-made. I love it! Highly recommend for home/small business use.

I looked for a decent cross shredder for my home office. This checked all the boxes. It is a little loud, however it works great. I ran it for about an hour with out over heating or jamming.

So far it is working well. I am not sure how many sheets it can cut without bogging down. I have put 4 and cuts just fine.I don’t want to push it since it it new. I love how big the basket is. This cross cuts which makes the paper shavings much smaller.and can shred more paper.I would buy this again. If I have any mishaps or does not work well, I will update my review.

It works great! Has good power to zip through the papers like butter! And it is a lot quieter than I thought it would be. And the price was really reasonable! Would highly recommend this shredder for home use!!!

Loved this shredder the first time I used it. It worked as a shredder should.I only used it for paper and chose to only shred 2 pieces of paper at a time, being careful to ensure no staples or other non- paper items went into the shredder.It isn’t often I need a shredder…but when I need on, I truly NEED one.The next time i used this shredder, it would not staycontinuously running, as a shredder ought to. It would pull in about 1/2 an inch of paper, then stop. Then pull in another half inch, and stop….rhythmically. This was more than annoying, it was impractical as I had several documents that required shredding and at this rate, it was going to take a long time.Turned the unit off and unplugged it. Using a flashlight, I peered into the shredding slot from the top. Seeing nothing caught in the teeth from the top, I took the paper basket out, turned the shredder upside down and, again, peered at the teeth. Still nothing visible.I started to feel a bit frustrated because I had spent a decent amount of money on this shredder and expected it to function for more than one or two days. I am NOT NEW to office equipment as I have extensive experience working in office settings.I attempted to contact the customer service number on the sticker which is affixed to the top of the shredder. However, they were closed.I was working 16 hour days 6 days a week and found it difficult to find time to contact them again until some time later.By then, it was 3 months after purchase and too late to send it back, according to Amazon. Also, the cost of sending it back kn my own was not feasible. I finally was able to contact customer service. They were rather helpful and stayed on the phone with me, asked me to try several different things, allow them to hear how it was operating. Finally, she told me I may need to clean the sensor with a qtip. And also to find shredder lubricant made for this particular product.I cleaned the sensor. Nothing changed. It took me a while to find, order, and receive Bonsai lubricating sheets for this shredder. I have followed the directions printed on thesheets. There has been no change.The shredder will not stay running when in “forward” mode. In both forward and automatic modes, it stops and starts, taking, now, 1/4″ to 1/2″ paper at a time. Stopping. Then taking another 1/4 to 1/2 inch ofthe paper. In reverse mode. It come to a complete stop. I feel like it may be a problem with the electrical connections, perhaps the switch? I do know neither the overheat or overload lights come on. So it doesn’t seem to be that. I am disappointed with this purchase. Not sure if I got a dud or what the situation is.I may just end up going to Walmart and purchasing a shredder from them.Oh..and: I have tried…several times since this problem arose …to upload a video review. To no avail. Amazon… Or perhaps the seller…isn’t allowing it.:(

eview again in 6 months after daily use can be better evaluated. Sure doesn’t shred 12 sheets at a time as described. Operating sound is very noisy. Adequate at 4 or 5 sheets. . Not as powerful or fast as my last shredder. Slightly cheaper in price than my last shredder which lasted for over 6 years. Don’t like that the lid can’t be secured so I would be able to lift it with the handle and move it around. Definitely only for light personal use.

hile’. It is reasonably priced, on of the questions asked about a drawer to take to shredded pieces out. The answer was yes, but a user. It must have been referring to another machine. That’s ok though, inexpensive and I may have read it wrong.After using it twice, the bucket was a little over half full. I ran a reverse because one piece didn’t go downright. I never put the number of pages in that it is supposed to take. It pulled the shreddd paper into the cutters and jammed the machine. I tried the back an forth as suggested but it wouldn’t go forward at all. I was able to use 1/2 side but couldn’t put a whole sheet in. My son came by and was able to take it apart and clear the jam. it works again bu I have to empty it before its half full. a nuisance and irritates me.

r. Just used this to shred a pretty large pile of old bank statements. Worked like a charm, didn’t over heat. I did only put 3 or 4 at a time, why overtax it. Easy to rid the paper shreds from the blades, just run in Forward and Reverse and it cleans it quite well.

t customer service. The product stopped working after few times of usage. After we’ve emptied the shredded papers (the first time) and put back the top part, the shredder didn’t work. We’ve then noticed that a small plastic lever is broken inside the container. This was a birthday gift which was purchased in September and was opened and used for the first time 3 weeks ago on October 1st, but Amazon is now refusing to exchange because it was over 30 days since the initial purchase date and asking us to contact the manufacturer in China… it is totally not fair because currently my daughter cannot use the shredder.HOWEVER THE MANUFACTURER CONTACTED ME AND OFFERED TO SEND ME A REPLACEMENT UNIT for which I will change my review to 5 stars for their customer service

Apr 2023 Update: 6+ months and this thing is still going strong! Just bought shredder oil sheets for the first time ever because how durable it’s been!Original Review: So far this is the best shredder I’ve ever owned by a wide margin! Glad I spent a little bit more money on a much higher quality product (I got the 10min one too), this is the best bang for your buck!I’ve had a few shredders before in the ~$40 range (mostly Staples ones) that broke pretty quickly — this one really doesn’t cost that much more, comparatively. They’d only be able to do like 5 sheets (nowhere near 12) and eventually plastic bits would start falling out of the insides and it would stop working. If you put in like 4 sheets and folded one accidentally, those would jam immediately. Then the jams would be hard to clear and could damage the shredder. Or you’d run it for like a minute and it would start overheating already and start malfunctioning.So far, with this shredder, in a few weeks’ time period, I already shredded more than I have in the past 5 years combined. Probably did like ~10,000 sheets of lots of old documents. That’s how much of a powerhouse this shredder is compared to all the other ones I’ve owned previously! So it’s been easily worth the money already as it has outlasted the others that would start malfunctioning at ~1,000 sheets.It’s also never jammed on me! I’ve never tried 12 sheets on it, but it’ll do 6 sheets no problem, whereas my previous shredders would start falling apart — literally — if you tried 6 sheets.And this thing can run for like an hour without overheating! Like I get tired out and I have to take a break well before it overheats. Whereas with previous ones, I’d spend like 2 minutes and already had to wait for it to cool down. Now the bottleneck isn’t the shredder, but me!Also, because it’s been so durable so far, I’m no longer afraid of shredding things here and there, worried that the shredder might suddenly break. Sometimes I shred some old documents as a therapeutic, meditative activity now — shred your worries away xDIt also holds more paper than my previous shredders before I have to clean it out. And while it is taller than I expected, that surprisingly made it more ergonomic so I didn’t have to lean over as much while shredding.As some reviewers have noted, when I got it I did check the insides and did see some bits of shredded paper. That seemed sketchy, but it does say on the note that comes with it that they “test every shredder” and so that’s why you might see some leftover bits. And honestly, even if it is used, it’s outlasted my previous shredders by a 10x margin already, so it’s good quality stuff either way.So, overall, well worth the price, best bag for my buck I’ve had with a shredder. Bonsaii also has a 1-year warranty (and the reviews seem to say that they’ve made good on that too!), which is why I originally bought it with my past shredder purchases going awry. But I guess it’s as they say, if a company is confident in such a long warranty, the product probably isn’t going to break quickly! Hoping to have this last for many more years 🙂
