First of all I’m am a Alexa fanatic. I tell everyone about them and all the lovely features. I gave this Alexa as a house warming gift for my cousin and he loved it. It’s very easy to use and has lots of different things to help you throughout the day. The screen is a nice size and the sound is nice and loud. The price wasn’t too bad either. I love the alexa and so far have lifted quite a few to different family members. As well as told them about several of the features and how if you have multiple of these you can use them as an intercom system throughout your home like I do. Especially since I have a few different types of Alexa, Alexa add-ons and tvs from their brand. So I if I “announce” something it rings everywhere. Also so many rountines you can set individually for each person and dont get me started on hownu can sync all the speakers together and the music you play from there will play everywhere if you request to do so. I love Alexa so much I call her my sister girl lol. I wish I could be some sort of ambassador for them.

Great product, very useful and fun. We have it on the kitchen counter in a corner, handy but not in the way. We use it for playing music and to get recipes. Having the larger screen is very helpful for recipes. When it plays music the song words are displayed, very fun. Easy to find desired music with Amazon Prime. Useful for placing orders. It displays interesting picture as well and you can load your own pictures. This is a terrific thing. It is also a handy times. This is much better than the vocal only Alexa Echo Dot. Than you Amazon.com

Super easy to set up. Took all of maybe 10 minutes even with an update. Sound quality is awesome. Super nice looking, clear crisp picture, great value and superb quality. Easy to connect cameras, smart appliances, smart bulbs, etc. Don’t know what I did before this! Perfect size for any room too.

I bought this thinking it would work as a nice hub for my security camera system and to get me to finally commit to buying Amazon devices for my home.I am now thinking that I made a huge mistake. I want to like this, but it’s terrible. It’s very slow to respond and nonstop ads and unnecessary visual items like sports or news.I wish I had not purchased this and instead got something Apple or Google based.I imagine that this negative feeling is factored into the fact that they’re pumping tons of ads into households across the country, so for those less bothered it will satisfy Amazon’s desire to earn advertisement revenue, but the execution is poor.The laggy device means I’ll never select an advertisement or care. Secondly, I don’t want to see ads in my kitchen. Finally, if this feature was more controllable and the device more customizable, then maybe, but it’s not.I’m only keeping it until I find something better and then I’ll never buy another Amazon smart home product againThe device’s main purpose is to show you ads and to listen to your conversations, identify things inside your home that you use or might need. It’s secondary purpose is to serve as a slideshow for photos, sports, and news. The clock and weather are tertiary and anything else comes after those aforementioned tasks.I’m only giving it five stars so that my review isn’t buried. It’s more of a 3 stars if it was customizable, and 4 stars if it wasn’t laggy, but it’s really 2 stars because of the ads. Sounds great, looks good, but slow and full of ads.

My old Echo show started to run slowly and would have a hard time hearing us from across the room. Decided it was time for an upgrade and was able to get a great price with a promotional and trade in credit towards this new device.Screen quality is far superior, and so is the sound. Highly recommend purchasing if you are looking for a echo device with a display for kitchen or living room setting.

I had the echo show 5 and was constantly getting frustrated with it! It wouldn’t register commands and a whole host of other things!This unit is outstanding! The sound quality is far and away better. Almost all the other problems I had with the other unit have been fixed with this one! I wouldn’t think twice to buy this one again!

Visually this is superior to the previous model, but sound quality is still only ok. (The new Echo dot, ball style has GREAT sound, imo)The real draw back on this newer version is the lack of a headphone jack. I don’t use it for headphones, but still use it with a self-powered computer speaker system.The Show 8, 2.0 is great to watch, though the options for international (even domestic) Stream Player channels are diminishing— and I have loved watching foreign news broadcasts. The ability to use more FireTV apps seems to be improving, but Amazon has a long way to go on this. Communication options are improving and a great feature is to be able to open multiple Ring cameras to watch simultaneously.Anyway, it’s good, and if it’s your first Echo Show, you won’t miss the features you’ve never had.

JUST PURCHASED AND I REALLY LIKE THE SIZE OF THE SCREEN SINCE THIS WAS ONE OF THE NEWER RELEASES. I WOULD HAVE PURCHASED THE 10″ OR 15″, BUT THEY DID NOT HAVE A RECENT RELEASE. THE SCREEN IS CLEAR, SCROLLS EASILY, LOTS OF FEATURES THAT ARE UPGRADED FROM MY ECHO SHOW 5, THE VOLUME IS MUCH LOUDER, BUT I THINK I EXPECTED IT TO BE A BIT MORE OF A HIGHER QUALITY SOUND, A BIT LOUDER, BUT IT IS FINE FOR THE DEVICE THAT IT IS. I WOULD RECOMMEND AND I WOULD BUY AGAIN. THE ONLY ISSUE THAT I HAD WAS I DID HAVE TO SPEAK LOUDER AND REPEAT TO HAVE ALEXA ANSWER.

I upgraded both of my first and second gen Show 8’s to the new 3rd gen model. I took advantage of the $35 trade-in credit offered and Black Friday discount. Show 8 has the best sound quality of all the Show models IMO, (I also have 3 Show 15’s). I understand it has a completely new operating system and processor. The unit responds more quickly than previous generations.Setup was a snap. First thing I do when setting up a Show is to disable — ALL — home content toggles except calendar. I just use photo display from Amazon Photos and calendar functions. I have not seen any unwanted ads that others have complained about in comments. I can only assume they have not setup the Home Content section properly.Besides the sound quality and speed the most noticeable improvement is the screen content and clock font size changes based on how close I am to the device. The closer I get, more functions become available.Panos, if you are listening please stop enabling new feature toggles automatically. I’d prefer an email letting me know what is new and let me choose to enable it myself. A Microsoft Teams integration option would also be nice.

Be aware that you are buying a product for your counter that will advertise Amazon products every second you are not using it. It does have a faster CPU so it does not take as long to set it up and use it.When I am not using it, all I want it to do is show the time, date and temperature. This is not possible during the day, only at night after telling Alexa “Good Nite”. After the owl image it does just that. All other time the only way to stop the ads is to say “screen off” Get used to saying it as without warning the ambient light or external sounds will send this device off into another advertising flurry.No way to use as a baby monitor as aftrr a few minutes it will go back to advertising.The screen is much sharper and with the faster processor it actually does control my thermostats and answers general question. If there is a TV on, it seems my device becomes somewhat deaf to my voice and I have to yell, at first. to gain the Echo’s attention. It is an improvement over my previous Echo Show 8 for sure but know what you are getting before you buy. Even though I ordered the charcoal color, it always comes with a white power cord. The speaker is a bit better but it sounds “muddy” to me and I had to crank up the midrange and treble.
