I ordered this to replace the remote that came with my TCL Fire TV. The ROKU remote is far more responsive and easier to use. ROKU menus and setups are a no-brainer. I highly recommend this product and ROKU in general.

I bought this as my LG TV firmware was incompatible with YouTubeTV and had issues connecting to my wifi. The Roku Express 4K+ has been a game-changer for my home entertainment setup. The 4K and HDR quality make a noticeable difference in streaming, delivering crystal-clear picture quality with vibrant colors. It’s perfect for watching movies and shows in stunning detail.Setting it up was quick and simple, and the Roku interface is super user-friendly. I love the voice remote – it makes finding content so much easier, especially with access to free and live TV options. Roku’s platform offers a wide range of streaming services, so I can access everything I need in one place, including live TV channels, without needing a cable subscription. The device itself is compact and discreet, and it has been reliable with fast load times and no lag during streaming. Overall, the Roku Express 4K+ is an excellent value for anyone looking to upgrade their TV viewing experience with minimal hassle. Highly recommend!

Finally bringing our TV watching into the 21st century – ditching cable boxes and getting 3 of these little guys. Setup is ridiculously simple, devices work perfectly with no problems to date. Can’t believe we waited so long to switch to these devices. Excellent value for the $$

I switched from Fire Stick because it doesn’t support the Spectrum TV app. My Roku is SO much better. Took about 10 minutes to set up, including loading up all my apps. The remote also works on my TV, and has volume and mute buttons. It is MUCH quicker and more responsive than the Fire Stick was.Much easier to use and does everything better. Love it.

I absolutely love this device! It was a breeze to setup and I didn’t even need to open the setup guide. Even people who struggle with technology will find this easy to setup and use. One of my favorite features that differentiates this device from other streaming interfaces, is the included remote control with voice search capability. It can even control the volume and power on your television. There is a great variety of apps available, including some free ones that I was surprised to find. Logging into your accounts on the apps is also very easy. I also appreciate the superior picture quality and network performance. And to top it all off, it was one of the most cost effective devices of this type.

The Roku Express 4K+ is amazing! I absolutely love using it with my TV. It delivers excellent 4K and HDR quality and has quickly become an everyday essential in our home. And it was super easy to set up!One feature that really stands out is the Roku Voice Remote, which controls both the streaming device and the TV. This means you only need one remote for everything, unlike other Roku models that require two or more remotes. This added convenience makes the 4K+ model a standout choice.Overall, it’s a fantastic streaming device with great functionality and ease of use. Highly recommended for anyone looking to streamline their TV experience!

The Roku is excellent and was a critical component of finally cutting the cord with the cable company. Quality is excellent and it is easy to use and setup. The only issue is that while you can use your phone as a remote, the phone cannot control the volume so you still need the actual remote.

I canceled my cable, it was to expensive. The Roku gives you hundreds of options to watch. I got an antenna for local channels and it all works great. I would recommend this to others.

I installed this Roku device on an older non-smart LCD TV and it works perfectly. I think the Roku devices were designed before smart TV’s were available. I have installed two of them on my non-smart TV’s and they both work perfectly. I tried to install one on my new 72 inch smart TV and it conflicted with the built in TV hardware and software and would not work. If you have an older LCD or Plasma TV this is the way to go.

I love this thing! Our smart TV was having trouble connecting to the wifi and would stop mid show sometimes, so we got this. Super easy to set up and works well! I love that you can get the Roku remote app and control the tv from your phone, it makes logging in to all the apps super easy because you can just type the email and password on your phone keyboard through the app. I like that it’s small and sleek and comes with a command type strip if you want to mount it to the wall.

Purchased in June 2024.The Express 4K+ player is good- fast and responsive and the YouTube Roku app works well. The main reason I purchased this Express 4K+ player was to replace a 10 year old Roku 3 which had trouble with its YouTube app, and a few other apps that apparently were becoming Roku 3 incompatible. The Express 4K+ voice control remote has locked up a few times, however. (Just take out the batteries, and reinsert.) One thing that I had hoped was that the Roku 3’s radio gaming remote would allow me to plug in headphones for use with the Express 4K+. But that DOES NOT work. The basic functions of the Roku 3 remote DO WORK on the Express 4K+ player, but the headphone feature DOES NOT. I believe the Express 4K+ player and Voice Control remote are IR optical only. Oddly, there is no obvious window on the front of the remote for the IR light to exit. One last thing- try to use the USB power adapter that comes with the 4K+ Express. I assumed that any old sugar cube type USB power supply would do, and some did not not. Apparently, the Express 4K+ needs quite a bit of power (it does run pretty warm), and the cheapo low current USB cubes may not be able to supply the player with enough power.

The Roku Express 4K+ works great with my Wi-Fi, produces a beautiful picture, very easy to install and setup, has numerous apps to select from when setting up, and operation of the remote can’t get any simpler.

A friend told me she bought one to use and not have to pay a monthly fee. There ARE extra channels you can subscribe to but even those are very reasonable.A few years ago I stayed at an air BnB and they had Roku, I watched it but really didn’t know what it was about or the cost. It was perfect for the place I stayed and I was amazed at the channels available. It only needs internet access and the owner had control, had it in guest mode and worked fine.I bought two, one for the TV in the guest bedroom where my son and daughter in law stays when they come to visit.. she has a Netflix account and likes to watch their usual shows before going to sleep… and I got one for the other bedroom my grandchildren stay in when they are here. I have it set to just kids shows and they can still attach gaming devices and we can cast to the TV. I love having options that meet different needs without costing a fortune.I was very impressed with how easy it was to set up and that I can use one remote, and it has voice search! Awesome tech, even for us older folks. My husband loves the old westerns and now he can go sit in the guest bedroom if he wants and watch it with the TV turned up so he can hear it.

  16. Roku stick express 4K+

This Roku stick is great. Came with everything in the box brand new and it is very easy and quick to connect to your tv. I highly recommend purchasing, has lots of great apps like Netflix, Hulu , Disney plus , YouTube and so much more and even has live tv. Works very fast also.

I recently purchased this Roku. I had a fire stick previously, but there were always connection issues and I’d have to switch over to my PlayStation to finish what I was watching. I also have a Roku In the living room and my kids’ rooms that we’ve had for years. The Rokus have never let us down. So, I decided to purchase this one for my bedroom to replace the fire stick that was always giving me trouble. It works great. I had no connection issues. It’s smaller than I thought, which I like a lot. The pictures great. It was easy to set up. I like that they give you a command strip style sticky thing to “mount“ it to your TV stand/dresser or whatever you’re putting it so that it doesn’t move around. However, there is one flaw that bothers me. The blue light on the front of this thing is way too bright. I just set it up yesterday and then I went to go to sleep last night and this blue light just glared in my face and lights up my room. This means I’m either going to have to get some electrical tape to cover the light, which isn’t aesthetically pleasing or keep some type of cloth to put over the light, which also isn’t aesthetically pleasing to have a rag of some kind laying on my dresser all the time to cover this light. The other Roku models I have don’t have this annoying light. The fire stick didn’t have it. It’s unnecessarily bright. It’s absurd I would give it five stars if it wasn’t for this flaw.

My daughters have an older android tv that the software is outdated. Tv had begun to be slow and laggish. I looked into option ad the tv wad still good just software was bad. With this Roku box the tv has new life! You get all the streaming apps through roku. Very easy to use. I chose the one that the remote controls all tv functions. So now one remote gets them all the apps and right to the HDMI settings for gaming. Best bang fir you buck to update and outdated smart tv. The price is right. Disney+, Roku tv, and so many apps all there on the home screen.

i’ve had an amazon fire stick in my panasonic tv (~10 years old, not smart tv) for a couple years and it is terrible quality. i thought it might be the tv but i was wrong and so glad i tried something else. the fire stick would be incredibly slow to load and the remote did not work, i had to use my tv’s remote with the fire stick which was cumbersome. however, the roku box is excellent. i can’t believe how good the deal is, too. it was very easy to set up and took me less than 10 minutes. the only thing is i can’t turn the tv on and off with the roku remote as it advertised, but maybe i need to fix a setting/reset it so i will try that. otherwise it’s perfect.

My elderly father broke his computer where he likes to watch YouTube, Netflix, and the news. As he’s not very mobile, it’s his way of interacting with the world. I ordered this for him at noon, it was at our door by 4! Talk about service! I quickly got him hooked into his streaming accounts and he was up and going by 5. He was so happy to be able to watch his science and history shows again.Very simple setup, and user friendly. Connects to the Wi-Fi effortlessly. He has some problems with navigating complicated menus, but these are easy and have pictures so he knows what he’s clicking on. PLUS it comes with voice controls so if he’s having problems typing, he can just speak into the remote to find what he is looking for.The Price is phenomenal and the product superb.

I love these! Bought an additional one for our projector for outdoor movies this summer. 4th one of purchased so obviously love and recommendPros:Comes with a sticker: attaches to device to allow to hide behind tvs or attach to the side of a projector to avoid losing.Easy set up: easy to link to email, and then easy to link future ones to the same account.Access: Every streaming app you can think of is easily added during set up. You can easily later add addional or remove ones you dont usePrice- so affordable and work amazing. Thats a rare combo anymore in this financial climateCons:None- Were obsessed with the ease of these and priceRecommendation:Buy one. Heck buy 4 like we did lol. We have them on multiple TVs and now our outdoor projector. Additionally, easy to travel with to hotel or Airbnb for kids or yourself.

Rokus are arguably the most affordable and easy to use streaming devices on the market. If you don’t have a Roku TV or any kind of smart TV, or want to use this with a projector or something else, this is a no brainer investment.I’ve purchased many of the older Express 1080p units and this 4K+ unit is basically the same with some added perks. The remote included with this unit is a voice remote and allows power control of the TV/display device all within the same remote. The old basic 1080p units did not come with this so it’s a great upgrade. If you use an external audio amplifier that integrates to your home theater via HDMI, CEC control can be used to allow the volume control to control that as well. All necessary cables and batteries for the remote were included. Also includes VHB tape (command strip) to adhere the Roku to your TV if you choose to do so.My application for this was a very early gen smart TV from 2013. Although it’s only 1080p it has a higher refresh rate than most TVs at that time, the picture quality is amazing, and it still works great so I saw no sense in replacing it.My only complaints are with the Roku design and platform, not this unit in particular:- Specific to the remote, there are a number of channel based services that would benefit from a number pad for direct dialing channel numbers. Roku does not support this, so OEM and aftermarket remotes will never be able to utilize this.- I’m a huge fan of the purple arrow buttons. Unfortunately they are rubber, not plastic. Easier on the fingers however they get gooey and degrade over time. I’ve had to replace a handful of Roku remotes over the years because of this- Dedicated streaming service buttons should be programmable. If I don’t subscribe to a service, I don’t want it as a remote hotkey. Interestingly enough, different remotes from different vendors all provide different variations of streaming buttons. There’s no consistency. At that rate, just get rid of them.Despite the small issues that bother me I still would not steer away from Roku as a platform. It has a lot to offer and an excellent price.

The Roku Express 4K+ is an impressive streaming device that offers excellent value for its price. It provides 4K resolution and HDR support, delivering sharp and vibrant visuals that enhance the viewing experience. The device is compact and easy to set up, making it a great choice for both tech-savvy users and beginners. One of the standout features of the Roku Express 4K+ is its user-friendly interface. The Roku OS is intuitive and straightforward, allowing users to navigate through a vast selection of streaming services, including Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and many others. The remote control included with the device is another highlight, featuring voice control capabilities that add convenience to the browsing and selection process.Performance-wise, the Roku Express 4K+ is impressive. It streams content smoothly with minimal buffering, even when handling 4K content. The device also supports dual-band Wi-Fi, which helps maintain a stable connection during streaming.

I purchased a Roku TV for my garage and I love all the apps and free channels that the TV has to offer so I purchased the Roku streaming device for my other five TVs. It took me less than an hour to open the packages and hook them all up. I have not had any problems with buffering or freezing but I do have three Google Wi-Fi extenders throughout my home. The remote is set up to turn on and off the Roku and TV as well as controlling the volume so the TV remotes are no longer needed. Unfortunately I have not been able to cut the cable cord due to my husband being a sports fanatic BUT I was able to return all cable boxes due to being able to stream Spectrum from the App Store (saving over $50 a month). I would recommend the Roku over the Fire stick which I had previously because the Roku offers more apps and free channels. The Fire stick did not offer the Spectrum app. Also the Fire stick would buffer and freeze even with the Google Wi-Fi extenders. I would definitely recommend the Roku to anyone who does not have a Roku TV. The only con is I did not purchase the stick which would hide better than the tiny box, but I attached the box the the bottom of all the TVs with the double sided tape that was enclosed with the device so the appearance is more clean with no cords showing. Hope this helps you make a decision if the Roku is right for you.

This Roku is great! Super easy to set it up. Love that you can control the power and volume for the TV on it. Buttons are easy to press and haven’t gotten jammed or anything. The Roku itself is nice and small, not noticeable at all. None of the channels froze or crashed. Great entertainment system for a TV that isn’t “smart”. The voice control is also another plus!

Excellent buy! No regrets! Easy to install. Very reasonable price. Much better than cable TV, or Dish. Highly recommended for older adults who don’t know much about technology. Turn your regular TV, into a smart TV. Saves you money in many ways.Remote is easy to use.

I finally switched to streaming only service due to the Bally’s/Comcast fight. Anyway so I have a 3 TV set up in my living room to watch multiple sports at one time. I went from 2 comcast boxes to 3 Roku’s. Works great so far and connects to my wifi with no buffering issues unlike the crappy and slow smart TV apps. Set up was really easy and seems like the remotes are tied to each device. So I don’t need to point away from the other devices while changing channels. Setup only took a few minutes each. Apps update quickly. The Roku also work when hidden out of view behind the mounted TV’s. I only have one 4K TV and it looks great, and the 1080 almost just as good.

We had an older TV in the living room. We used a competitors device on this TV before switching to Roku. The competitors device lasted a couple years, but always gave us problems. It was glitchy and lagged frequently. It then stopped working altogether. I’m very happy with the replacement Roku. No more glitches or lags since then. Problems solved, and we can watch a vast variety of programs. Everyone is happy to be able to watch what they want and when they want to watch it.

I changed internet companies, and my new service, although much less, did not include a streaming device. This ROKU is awesome. I literally plug it in. Follow along on the screen. It even automatically programmed the remote to my TV to turn it on and off and control the volume. So easy to set up.The speed keeps up with my WiFi. There is no buffering or freezing. So many apps to choose from. Free and streaming. Easy to use remote (wish it were backlit)The only thing I don’t like is that the little blue light stays on all the time. But I have some little black stickers just for this. Problem solved.Get it. It’s worth the money.

I’m happy with the speed and the thumbnail preview (first few seconds of video on YouTube Roku app). This is compared to my much older Roku streaming unit. That “box” also was much larger by 2 or 3x. It included a jack for wired Internet connection, which I did find useful, and even an SD card slot, which I did not.The buttons on the included simple voice ll Voice Remote are comfortable and easy to press. I compare to the rather stuff and clicky “action” of buttons, on both an aftermarket remote and a Roku brand remote control that came years ago with an older Roku unit. This new remote connected to my brand of TV (Samsung) virtually by itself, as soon as I installed batteries and tried it out. This remote is small and lightweight. Still comfortable in my large hands.I’ve tried the voice capabilities, and am happy to use them as easy shortcuts to apps and streaming channels other than those with dedicated buttons on the remote. to turn off the mic and voice function for sense of privacy (which I’d have to trust to work). The aftermarket remote had a button to select input to the TV, which I don’t mind sacrificing for the comfort and convenience of this units button comfort and voice feature. It was time to replace streaming boxes, and I’m glad I did. The good qualities of the remote made it a bonus worth ten extra dollars.

I have Roku 5 on all of my TVS. It is saving me money with Spectrum. It is not perfect. It buffers a lot; the sound is off by one second.; I miss the easy to use remote in order to go quickly go to the station I want, especially if it is a high number channel.

I installed a TV in our bathroom, which plays music for me in the morning and streams shows for my wife when she is luxuriating in the tub. Our old Roku stick still worked, but it took too long to boot and load apps. I decided it was time for an upgrade, and this unit was the result.Boy, it has done what I wanted! It is speedy, loading apps quickly. No more memory issues. The UI is a bit different, but I’m getting used to that.I didn’t ding it for this, but it has a couple of annoying habits that I haven’t learned how to overcome. When it sits idle for a while, it turns itself off. Meaning, it even turns the TV off. I would rather it didn’t do that and will search for related settings. Also, when I turn the TV on with the Roku remote, it doesn’t turn the Roku UI on simultaneously. I have to click a button to wake it up. Hopefully, that is another setting that I can change. (If I can’t fix either problem, I will return and downgrade my rating.) I also wish the remote wasn’t line-of-sight-based, but that is a small thing.Overall, I am very pleased with the product and recommend it.

Purchased this as I had a little older TV that did not have Roku built in. I was tired of paying for expensive satellite and watching the same shows over and over. I live in the middle of nowhere but have good Internet service so this was a cheap and inexpensive fix to the satellite wars.Simple setup, easy to use and highly recommend.

I rented a home that was listed as partially furnished and it had a TV but not a smart TV, so I quickly bought myself a Roku Express 4K+.I would call it a game changer, but it is probably the best external option you can buy. Let me break down my experience:1. Setting it up is practically impossible to get wrong, it was a breeze. Plug it into your TV’s HDMI port, connect to Wi-Fi, and you’re good to go.2. The interface is straightforward, making it simple for anyone to navigate. No tech wizardry required!3. The options of apps seems to be very extensive. I was totally happy with that.4. The voice recognition feature is handy, although it could use some improvement. Sometimes it misinterprets my commands, but it’s still a nice addition.5. While the interface isn’t quite as sleek as Apple’s, it’s functional and gets the job done. I appreciate the simplicity.6. I thought I was getting the rechargeable remote, but in hindsight, it’s clear that it wasn’t. It was just the wrong assumption on my side. All in, a very pleasant experience from beginning to end.

This does not support 3D. It never said it did, I just wanted to put the information out there in case anyone was looking. This supports 4K no problem. There is one port neither this Roku nor another could use for 4K, oddly some other devices had no issue with that port, so I’m not entirely sure what’s going on other than to say Roku can be a bit fiddly at times.I was setting this one and another up at the same time, and I love that some of the passwords transferred. It made it a bit easier, especially with the alphabet soup passwords my password manager comes up with. Some apps did the simple QR code trick. Some didn’t. Voice entering passwords was hit or miss as “capital a” would either return “A” or “capitala”.The main purpose I had for this was to be able to stream media on a projector tv away from home, so there were a few hurdles in play here. It cleared them all no issue.First, it needed to be able to connect to, and stream from, a cell phone hot spot. For this I will say you need a good carrier. Nothing the device can do if the signal is weak. For me, it had no issues.Second, it needed to be able to plug into and use a portable power bank. I had one for the device and one for the phone, but it worked well enough I could try one for both devices next time.Third, it needed to be light, not so much to carry it, but because it ended up dangling from the projector. Not ideal, I know. Next time I’ll have a pillow or something to put under it. But nice to know it is light enough to do that in a pinch.I was thrilled how well this performed.

I purchased a Roku Express 4K unit to replace a Tablo/Firestick combo that was not working well together (see Tablo review). The Tablo/Roku combo works well together. The only problem with the unit is that it lacks individual control of the apps (which a Firestick is programmed to do). The Tablo/Roku combo works much better than the Tablo/Firestick combo. Other installed apps work very well with this streaming unit/. Apps can be installed and/or removed easily. The Roku remote does have some problems. The biggest is that the TV controls can only be set up for a TV, not a TV/Soundbar combo. For my setup, the TV set’s audio remains set to zero while the soundbar is connected to an Aux output. The soundbar audio is controlled independently of the TV audio. A Fire Stick allow the soundbar’s volume control to be programmed into its volume control buttons. The Roku remote does not. The Roku remote keeps changing the TV volume when a volume button is inadvertently pushed (side mounting leads to inadvertently pushing these buttons whenever the remote is being held). Tried some of the fixes for connecting a sound bar to the remote that are on the web, but none work to date. Getting a universal remote to replace the dedicated remote.
