This is an easy plug in and leave outlet alarm. Fits well behind a freezer or fridge. I like the alarm feature when we have unreliable power surges in the winter time coming. Very cost efficient with two of them , look forward to buying more for the basement and relatives.

I ordered it, it has good comments, and I wanted to try this device for our basement freezer, that it is protected from any cut and does not spoil everything inside, easy to adjust,

I had a flooded basement after a sump pump lost power and if I had this, things would have been waaayyy easier. Good stuff, recommended!

This is a great item to have. We have lost meat in our freezer twice now, so we decided to purchase this alarm. We tested it out by switching the breaker off and it worked great. Nice and loud. Hopefully we don’t lose another freezer of meat now that we have this alarm on it. Should have bought it sooner!!

Not a super loud alarm. It’s a ringtone. But it’ll do the job if you lose power.

This thing has everything but a beep. I can understand how that might help some people actually pay attention to it. But seriously just a tone… we don’t need a symphony to alert that our power turned off.

Tried to change the alarm tone, but didn’t work. Sending back, I packaged them up in original boxes and sealed the box. Then the alarm went off in the sealed box! Had to open the box and press the cancel button. Same thing happened again to the other one, and then again to the first one!. To prevent UPS from having a heart attack, I unscrewed the back cover of the units and disconnected the batteries before sending them back. Probably not a problem unless you plugged them in to test them…

We have a freezer in the garage that lost power due to a tripped GFCI outlet. Nobody knew it tripped, and as it turned out we were in and out of the garage without noticing for a couple days. Then one day I saw a puddle at the front of the freezer and discovered the power was off and everything started melting/defrosting.This is designed to let you know with a loud alarm when the power goes out. Now, it wont help you if nobody is home and the battery runs out before you get back, but if you put this somewhere you can see, there is also a green light on the front showing power is on, so the absence of that will tell you its off.Not long after buying this, it happened again. I had plugged our RV into a garage outlet and about 24 hours later something caused the GFCI to trip. This time it sounded off like a police car. My first thought was What the Hell Is That! but I quickly realized and then reset the GFCI. So yes, you do need this especially if you have a freezer!

I live in a 1700 sq. ft., single family, one-story home. At six feet, I read this alarm at 80dB; in an adjacent room at 25 feet: 62dB. No matter where I am in the house, I will hear this alarm when it goes off.In all of my years in my house, I have never had a circuit trip in the middle of the night while there is no exceptional electrical use. During the day, if I inadvertently overload a circuit, it will, of course trip. This alarm works well for my use – as a whole house alarm when I suffer a power loss – on average six times a year. During waking hours, I will be aware of power losses; at night, while I am sleeping, this alarm, plugged into a bedroom receptacle, serves me by waking me, upon which I will start my generator (mine is a manual start – not automatic) It is loud enough for me and sounds the instant power is lost.I have a wifi security camera in my bedroom that “sees” the LED light on the alarm unit. If I am concerned, I can view the alarm through the camera app. For those who have the alarm on a remote refer or freezer, I would suggest a “baby” monitor ($15-$20 on Amazon) in the vicinity of the alarm with the receiver in a central location. At $26, this alarm is toward the mid-range of available monitors on Amazon, with the added bonus of having a three-prong receptacle built in.

I like that it has a status LED light, and that it flashes rainbow color when the power goes out.I like that the volume is adjustable and can be silenced.I like that it has a pass-through for power, so you still keep your outlet.I DONT like that the loudest volume isn’t much louder than the most quiet. On the quietest setting, you wouldn’t hear it over a loud TV. On the loudest setting, it would compete with the TV – you’d notice it after a minute or so. As another comparison, I could sleep through the quietest setting if it was in the same room as me. I could sleep through the loudest one if it was in an adjacent room and my door was shut. It’s loud enough that you’ll hear it in the garage or basement if you have a totally quiet home, or if it’s in the kitchen or living room, you’ll notice it soon enough.I think this is great as a power failure alarm for freezers and other things that you can handle being without power to for a day or less. I also like the built in battery backup for its own power source, which is way nicer than the alarms that need 9v batteries replaced every few years as power outage alarms, and which don’t tell you if the 9v is low on power, resulting in an alarm you can’t trust. I don’t see that issue with this alarm. And for 20 bucks, it’s hard to beat – there aren’t any other power failure alarms out there that cost less, unless you count the ones with replaceable batteries, which again, I don’t think is a good choice.

I got this for my son’s room. He’s 5 and tends to sneak out to try and grab some toys from the playroom at night. I put this at the top of his door so when he opens it, the other end is plugged in next to my bed and I can catch him in the act.
