The luggage is well made, with comfortable handles (and one in the seam of the bottom to help with lifting). I’m not fond of the sideways side handle – kind of awkward. The wheels are quiet and roll well. It is light. On the other hand: it is SMALL. It is under the allowed dimensions of most major airlines so you will be losing packing space. It is lightweight, and I think partly because it is SMALL. I ended up not keeping it because of the size. I’m not going anywhere for only a few days and have no obsession with carry-on only. I’ve decided to stick with my nice backpack and check a small suitcase. That works everywhere. One major warning: if you want to return this, you must pay significant shipping fees back to the seller. I should have looked for that in the information but didn’t . If you aren’t sure about the bag, you should strongly consider visiting a local luggage store or department store and seeing what they have. A lot less hassle and expense.

Wheels held up over cobblestone (though I walked more slowly). easy maneuverabilty, well thought out and only 5.5lbs which is major deciding factor for me. Excellent price / value. Attractive. I DO wish it expanded more in the fron pocket or main section. With a large underseat backpack and this I was well stocked for a 3 week trip. Quite attractive. Also wish it had built in combo locks

This suitcase has great maneuverability. There are pockets and extra zippered areas, so room for everything. Just the right size for a long weekend with formal event and casual activities. We have a larger version that we took, along with a different brand suitcase of this size on a recent trip to Europe. The Travelpro came home looking just fine. The other brand was trashed, zipper pull broken, handle broken, wheels no longer rolling. We bought this one to replace the trashed one.

Excellent bag for European travel. Holds a lot very securely. Easy to roll and lightweight. Solid purchase

Easy roll wheels. It’s the right size for the airline overhead compartments. Like the two outside zippered compartments for my laptop, and other small items. Good quality. Looks and feels durable. Took first airline trip and it worked great!

I bought the 19” during Amazon sale days to replace my well-worn & well-loved Swiss Gear Sion. My first trip involved 6 days travel via trains, planes, & busses. It held up without a scratch loading & unloading on all types of transportation. I was pleasantly surprised that I could get as much in it as my Sion, which is an inch wider. I pack light using a 2-compartment compression bag for clothes, my toiletry bag, 2 hoodies, underwear & swimsuit, my folding walking stick & heavy hiking sandals. The large zip outer pocket is great for holding a jacket. It also expands to hold even more stuff, yet fits well in overhead on planes. It’s lightweight & has lots of handles on top, bottom & sides. It’s durable and the wheels & extending handle all feel sturdy pulling over uneven surfaces. I am fully satisfied with this piece & recommend for other lightweight packers or long weekend travelers.

This carryon bag is very light, the brown mocha color is attractive and distinctive to stand out from all of the black luggage, and the bag has a TSA travel lock, several handles, and two outside zip storage compartments in addition to its interior storage space. Wheels turn and maneuver easily. This is a great traveling bag!

Nice little carryon for short trips and fits size restrictions of most international carriers. I appreciate not needing a large area for opening this suitcase and it’s nice to have pockets on the front for smaller things. However, if heavy items like books or a laptop are in the front pocket the bag becomes unbalanced and can tip over when you let go of it – especially if you have your personal item on the handle of the case for rolling around. Still a great bag, rolls very well, easy to put into overhead bin because it is lightweight and has multiple sturdy grab handles.

Hard to find a quality carry on that meets the TSA 22x9x14 overall size dimensions. The Maxlite 5 is well made and has enough capacity to make European and or 5 day trips possible. Handle has 2 positions and bag rolls well. Zippers easily open and close even when packed full. 2″ expansion gives just enough room for extra shirt and pants. lt Worked great for a 4 night out of town stay.

Love this little suitcase! It actually packs quite a bit. It’s light and roll as well. Although it is nearly as wide as some of the larger carry-ons, it’s shorter and approx. 2/3 of the depth — fits beautifully in the overhead compartments. The handy exterior pockets are an added plus, as is the combination lock. It’s very well-made.

This is a great luggage bag that fits in the overhead storage for carry-on bags. It is light and easy to handle, and allows the size most airlines require. The pockets is convenient for papers and/or tech devices. The 4-wheels move easily, and the expandable material makes it easy to include at lot: clothing, shoes, etc. Excellent quality.

So far, I am very happy with this carry-on. It is much lighter than my last one, the zippers work well, and the wheels high quality. The handle telescopes fairly easily and locks in two different positions. The exterior fabric is very durable, and I am not concerned at all about what would happen if it got wet. I wish it had one more zipper pocket in the interior and/or the one that exists could be a little wider. The smallest zipper pocket on the front of the suitcase could also be a little bit deeper. Other than those minor issues, I am extremely pleased with this item.

I purchased this piece of luggage for a recent trip. It is a lovely blue, durable, super easy to use with spinning wheels so you can push from any direction. The handle on the side for lifting was a great feature. This was everything I wanted and more. It saved me from a sure-to-be frustrating trip with my outdated luggage. So glad I purchased this…it was worth every penny.

I researched several brands and options for my niece’s graduation gift. This proved to be the right size, durable, lightweight, and attractive. It rolls easily and will be a great travel bag for years to come.

This is the third suitcase I’ve bought from this company. The bags are super spacious, durable, and light. I also love the colors because it makes it even easier for me to spot mine at baggage claim.

This seems to be the perfect size for 1-3 day getaway. It’s the perfect size for my needs and has lots of extra zipper pockets for storing everything. Zippers open and close smoothly and the wheels roll smooth on every surface. This was the most important feature for me and it did not disappoint! The handle raises up smoothly with the press of a button. This has made me excited to pack my suitcase. No more lugging around a big duffel bag or heavy suitcase. You need to be able to roll your luggage easily and effortlessly. I haven’t used this on an airplane yet so I have yet to check this bag at a airport, but it has worked well for road trips and staying at hotels. I love it and I will definitely buy more sizes when the need arises. (I’m a poet… 😅)

Why did I wait so long to get a spinner bag? This carryon bag rolls very easily and holds a lot. Well-made, lightweight, what’s not to love? I’m never going back to 2-wheeled bags.

This matches my Travelpro roll aboard, which fits perfectly inside for storage. It was a perfect size for variable weather clothes and shoes for over a week. I used packing cubes, so could find what I needed easily. The bag rolls easily, is fairly lightweight, and has a couple of handles on the side, so is easy to lift. When we left, I expanded the bag to fit the souvenirs. Perfect!

This is the biggest size carry on I could find, and I usually travel light so carry on only is my preference. I easily fit 6 outfits and 2 pair of shoes in the interior. Lots of pockets for little extras. I carry my toiletries in a personal bag under the seat. I love the 4 spinner wheels, making it easy to maneuver. And it’s lightweight. The brand was recommended to me and has great reviews which lead me to this bag.

I’m so glad I bought this suitcase! It’s got a lot of room inside and I’ve packed for 5 days and still had space left. Additionally you can expand the inner space by unzipping a zipper! It also has a very useful exterior pocket. I recently put a book, a notebook and my iPad in the outside pocket and had room for a pair of shoes as well, and it didn’t bulge. The handles work very well and the suitcase is light even when packed, so I can lift it myself. I only have one slight annoyance and that is that in some situations it’s a little hard to maneuver. However, that may just be that I haven’t gotten used to pushing it yet. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase.

A lot to like about this suitcase but the 19″ model is nearly 16″ wide. This defeats the purpose of a compact carry on since even major domestic airlines like American Airlines have a maximum width allowance of 14″. This size makes even less senser when looking at international travel. If for some strange reason the width is not an issue I would recommend this luggage. It is lightweight and feels decently built.

Title says it all. We purchased this and two other Travelpro pieces after good reviews in NYT and with recs from family/friends. Purchased for our first flight as a couple and being newly retired. Purchased for long weekend, cross country flight for family wedding. Travelpro pieces light but sturdy; strong zippers; amazing design with no space wasted and lots of pockets/packing options. Obviously we don’t know about long term durability yet, but certainly appears this may be the last luggage we have to buy! (Although I’m also planning to purchase a larger Travelpro piece for longer trips.)

PROS: lightweight, smoothly working rollers and zippers, spacious. elegant looks.CONS: would prefer ballistic nylon for material; could use more pockets.

The Purple is always out of stock on the Travelpro site. I took a chance, looked on Amazon and there it was. I have the black roller but needed to upgrade to the spinner. Same quality and the color exceeded my expectations. Travelpro is the best carry on I have ever used-lightweight, holds a ton, lots of pockets, expands and durable. Always fits in the overhead on international, trains in Europe, etc.

We were needing an extra piece of luggage for a trip. Bought this one because it met our size requirements, lightweight, and pricing.Zippers are heavy duty and work very well. Rollers are nice and roll easily.

This bag does what is meant to: glides smoothly, packs lots inside, and look goods with a sturdy and lightweight style. It has useful pockets on the outside and a good telescoping handle that works well and locks securely. Fits in all the overhead compartments I’ve come across on planes, and on Amtrak trains. Would highly recommend.

I am a senior that was looking for a very lightweight carry on bag that was also sturdy enough if I decided to check it. This bag is very lightweight at 5.1 lbs, has spinner wheels and is easy to manuever. The handle feels sturdy and is easy to use. Also got the matching underseater and returned it. Too heavy, only 2 wheels that did not roll easily and did not have much room. Also very leary if it will actually fit under a set.

I love this suitcase! It is small, but mighty! Holds a surprising amount, and is lightweight and sturdy. I’ve had mine for about a year and love it so far. It has been on about 6 plane flights and held up beautifully.

This is a 5 star suitcase in all respects but one. I knocked a star off for the strange placement of the handle on the side. My prior TravelPros all have the handle parallel not perpendicular to the case. When I attempted to carry it up airplane steps (no jetway in St. Thomas) it was impossible to use that handle. I actually went to their website to see if mine was a mistake and it’s not.Now for the case:-It’s the lightest I’ve found after heavy research.-The one it replaced held up for years, including abusing the wheels on cobblestones, brick, and gravel.-I can pack for 5+ weeks in this plus a backpack.-The quality is amazing for the price. The new smoothly operating zippers and wheels prove it was time to retire the original TravelPro carryon I own. We generally travel monthly anywhere from a week to the full month. Most of these trips involve flights and my original TravelPro 22 inch has been a real workhorse for me for many years. This one is an inch smaller, lighter, and still seems adequate for the way we travel. It was actually fun to roll through the airports.

This luggage is truly lightweight. Spouse has had an *airplane set* (carry-on suitcase and under-seat duo) for a couple of months and he appreciates the quality–lots of zippered compartments, sturdy construction, easy to maneuver and schlep for his weekly work-related trips He’s also pleased with the dark burgundy color. So far, so good. Now I have a mocha *airplane set*. Haven’t flown in years, but these pieces should be great for train and automobile travel as well as weekends with the grandkids. First car trip coming soon–will update.UPDATE: Three trips with my luggage now and I’m not disappointed. Love the weight, manueverability, and especially all the zippered compartments. Wipes clean with damp cloth. Great purchase, recommended.

The flip side of being lightweight is this would probably not hold up to very heavy use but it’s great for car trips and occasional airline checking. The wheels are bit small and they can be troublesome on cobble streets and airport carpets. Great size if you need more than a carryon.

I’ve had my 21″ carry-on for coming on two years now, and absolutely love it. It’s lightweight, maneuverable, easy to check or carry on, and holds what I need. The bright color options are an added bonus for spotting it quickly on the baggage carousel.I’ve flown with this coast to coast and also to Hawai’i multiple times, as well as a dozen or so jaunts up and down the coast, and this case holds what I need for a weekend or even a week and a half (I don’t use cubes, but a rolling method). I’ve also packed it with my clothes, then stuffed it into a larger case so as to have less to carry on my way to my destination and more room for souvenirs on the way home. When I carry it onto the plane, it’s fit properly sideways in the overhead compartments for all but the smallest planes, so I needn’t worry about taking more than my fair share of space. One zipper tab was broken while checked last year, but it’s still fully functional.

A lightweight, well-balanced “one week” suitcase. Very good.I put mine through a LOT this year on two complex global itineraries. It doesn’t show any damage of any kind, still rolls beautifully, and was never any source of frustration. It’s amazingly light (empty). The tapered shape is very effective (if packed correctly) at making sure your suitcase with stacked carryon won’t fall over. Like all spinner (quad wheel) designs, it takes a little extra effort on rough pavement or over large gaps. Not enough to be frustrating, but you have to pay attention to “jump” it across the gaps or it may get stuck. This is the largest size suitcase I consider “manageable”:* It’ll fit (all 4 wheels) on the step of every escalator I took it on (at least two dozen)* It’ll fit properly in the Amtrak end-of-car luggage racks (both NEC Regional and Acela)* It’ll fit (tight) between the facing seats on the New York LIRR* It fit in the cargo area of all types of small taxis around the world* It fit through the hatch and in the narrow back end of a seaplane without any theatrics.* And not so large that it’ll lend itself to overpacking past the checked weight limitIf that wasn’t enough, it also went through transfers, sorting, load&unload in all kinds of temperature extremes, long haul flights, big airports, dinky little airports, being checked & transferred a dozen times. Held up like a champ. Better than me, possibly.Other thoughts:I’d characterize this as week-long suitcase. But for solo travelers, if you’re a low-maintenance or high-density packer, don’t do much shopping, and have a carry-on also? Comfortably 9-14 days, verified personally. For a couple packing together it’s probably less, 4-6 days?If you’re not carrying breakables, I think this sort of nylon construction is “easier” to work with than a hardside. It has some flex and some ability to squish, the expansion zipper works well, it’s easy to pack w/o any special techniques.I’ve used Traevelpro’s other products, but this first maxlite piece has me already ordering another size.Highly Recommended.

The size of the TravelPro Maxlite 5 Compact Carry-on 20” is exactly as stated. (I measured it). Which means that it’s very small for a 5 day trip. This carry on meets the size limits of Hawaiian Airlines.I didn’t check it in, so I can’t comment on it’s durability at being thrown around. All I did was put it in the car, wheel it to the gate, put it in the overhead bin, wheel it to my hotel room, and vice versa. It survived. This is my 1st spinner bag. I had a 2-wheeler which always tipped over, so I wanted 4 wheels to prevent tipping. I expected this not to tip at all, but it did tip over once at the airport. Of course right in front of TSA check point. So, it’s not 100% tip-proof.Pros:-very lightweight-rolls easily on flat surfaces-doesn’t tip most of the time-seems durable enough (strong zippers zipped, powerscope handle went up and down, carry handles seem strong, softside is strong material which didn’t rip, wheels didn’t break, hold straps worked inside)Cons:-I aired it out for a whole week in the garage and backyard. Still has strong odor.-rollers got caught on some cracked/stone walkways-the expandable feature is a joke. It’s only about 1.5”x8.5” expanding. Maybe 1 pair of W sized 12 jeans. The reason is that only a portion of the bottom expands; the top 1/2 of the suitcase tapers to “non-expanding”. This case does not deserve ‘expandable’ in the description.-when you open the suitcase on a rack, the lid does not stay straight open. Because the bag tapers, the lid is at an odd angle and it falls over. I didn’t like this at all. It seems that after a lot of traveling you are putting stress on the lid hinge and it won’t last long. Plus, it kept falling over and doesn’t stay open.-the front pocket is almost useless. I couldn’t fit my paperback book in it.Overall, the case is ok. It’s not perfect, and I think it’s overpriced. I was disappointed in the so-called expandable feature and i don’t like that the lid doesn’t stay straight open. But it should serve it’s purpose and hopefully it lasts for a long time.

Good Price. Light weight compared to most carry-ons, sturdy construction, decent sized interior, and nice outside pocket. On my first trip the expansion option was unnecessary. The four wheels look somewhat flimsy compared to the wheels on an Eagle Creek carry-on.The big turn-off is that upon opening the box the new suitcase had an offensive odor, however one month later it is not as bad.

. I used this suitcase as carry on 1 time so far. It rolls and turns very easily. Filled one third with baby board books for my grandson and I was still able to lift it to the overhead storage by myself. Would not have been able to do that with my old carry on. Hope it lasts.

r Smooth Rolling. The Travelpro Maxlite 5 soft side expandable luggage with 4 spinner wheels is very lightweight and the wheels spin very smoothly. I like this luggage so much that I purchased the 21″ carryon, the 25″ suitcase and the 29″ larger luggage. The first Travelpro Maxlite 5 I purchased was the travel bag that fits under an airplane seat. It is super handy with the side zippered pocket that can easily be accessed while sitting in the seat. I recommend this luggage; it’s the best I have ever purchased.

a lot. This is the largest suitcase that can comfortably fit in the back of a Toyota Prius, which is why I have it. We can fit 2-3 people’s worth of clothes in it for a week with no trouble. The wheels are good quality. It is easy to maneuver both standing up and leaning forward. I am over 6 feet tall. Handles often don’t extend far enough for me to be comfortable holding them without the suitcase hitting my heels when I walk. This one extends a bit farther than most, which is great! The first time I used it, the little chrome buttons that are on each side of the handles all popped off. They seem to be entirely cosmetic and don’t seem to have had any impact on function. I have used this on both car trips and cross-continent air travel so far. It works equally well in both situations.
