This was super easy to install. As a matter of fact, I had a harder time removing the old toilet seat than I did installing this one. I also like the bolting system used as it would be nearly impossible to overtighten the bolts. Get a little overzealous in tightening the bolts and you could crack the toilet bowl. This system uses rubber anchors that are not likely to cause any damage. I also insist on the slow descend toilet seats now. Just push the seat and or lid a little way and they descend the rest of the way very slowly without making any noise. The only problem I have is when I go to someone else’s house and try the same thing, only to hear a loud bang as I leave the bathroom. There should be a law that everyone installs this kind of toilet seat. OK, that may be a bit invasive, but I certainly appreciate these wherever I find them.

This is a very good product. Non slip pas, slow close lid, fit and finish superb. Quality is evident.

Nice toilet seat. Not as sturdy as a wooden seat, but very happy with it.

Very nice, great quality. Slow close feature is a plus. Wife feels thew seat opening is a bit too wide. I think it is fine for me.

  7. Go Navy!

It is a nice replacement seat. I did have to modify the attachment system since I have a older Kohler toilet. Once I figured out how to modify the seat it was fairly easy to attach. I would recommend this seat as a replacement for Kohler toilets, but not so much for the older Kohler. Once installed it worked as I would expect from Kohler.

I’ve never installed a toilet seat before but this had to be the easiest thing I’ve done in a long time. The instructions are pretty lean though so I’ll put what I did here in case it becomes useful for someone else.1. Remove old seat. Clean the area by the hinges and screws to make your life easier. Remove the screws for the old seat. Your old seat will likely have plastic or metal screws in the top and a wingnut at the bottom but it may be a regular nut and you will need an adjustable plier or socket set to remove. You likely wont be able to just use a flathead screwdriver on the screw and loosen the seat. So reach under your seat by the tank and figure out what hardware is holding the screws in place. A seat like this has a little flexible tube that’s bent through the hole in the toilet that when it pops through the other side it becomes the wingnut. Once the screws are removed, remove the old seat.2. Clean the area around the screws. This just makes things nice and clean.3. Position the seat (but dont try to attach it yet) just to make sure everything fits. Make sure it fits before you sits! Open the screw covers to expose the locks, and move the locking mechanism into the open position (this will save you frustration later)4. Remove the parts bag from the box or wrapping your new seat came in (yes I missed this when I was unwrapping and lost my mind for about an hour until I found a video mentioning the parts) This should include your mount (with screws inside) and 2 bumpers to make the seat make less noise.5. Remove the screws from the mounts. They should be able to just unscrew with your fingers, they’re not tight.6. Bend the mount in half so that the cross portion is pointing vertical, not horizontal. Push this mount through the hole in your toilet so that the cross portion pops out of the bottom of the hole and you have a tube going into the mounting hole in your toilet.7. Place your new seat over the holes in the toilet.8. Make sure the locking mechanism is open. This is the little tab on your seat.9. Fasten the screws. Hold the little wingnut crossbar thing at the bottom so you dont spin it around and around. Dont crank down hard once it starts getting tight. Just get it tight to your screwdriver without exerting a lot of force.10. Move the lock tabs into the closed position.11. Flip your screw covers down12. Flip your seat up (not the seat cover portion, the seat itself) and affix the bumpers to the underside of the seat. There are indentations for these bumpers. That’s it, you’ve installed this toilet seat and you’re the hero to all of the bottoms in your house.

Finally found the color I was looking for. This (Sandbar) is like a sand tan with a bit of moss green infused. So it comes off as just slightly green tint within a tan base. Easy to install but the lid is a bit wobbly within the hinges. Would expect more from kohler especially for the price.

Fits as a perfect replacement. Quietly closes, and made well.

  11. M. A. Marquis

Seat is not blocky like wood, and the color is molded into the plastic so it won’t look scratched up. Something to keep in mind is the tapered seat, seats you lower to the surface of the cold water. Very comfortable and cleans easily. Installation takes 5 minutes tops. Slow close is a nice feature.

Its hard to get excited about a toilet seat. This one is nicely made. It fits snugly into place, stays open and doesn’t slam shut. We will purchase again.

I recently purchased the KOHLER 4636-RL-0 Cachet ReadyLatch Elongated Toilet Seat, and overall, I’m quite pleased with it. The seat combines subtle styling with innovative technology, making it a convenient addition to my bathroom. The ReadyLatch hinge allowed for easy installation, and the Quiet-Close feature prevents any annoying slamming noises. While I did find it a bit challenging to put together due to the lack of included instructions, once it was in place, it worked like a charm. Plus, ordering it online and having it shipped was a breeze, saving me a trip to the hardware store. Definitely a great purchase!

  14. Rejuve Spa

The seat is great. Fits perfectly, well-made, easy attachment system, and the quiet close feature is great. No more slamming toilet seat cover. Would purchase again.

  16. Russell W.

A very light, strong and well fitting toilet seat. I have had problems with previous toilet seats such as marred finish with cleaners, wobble, difficult attachments and fracture and the Kohler has been excellent in comparison to others. Highly recommend.

  17. Jason M. Sanders

I had a similar model of theirs that had cracked. On further inspection of the old seat, I realized that there was a seam built into the seat where the seat cracked. So it was deliberately designed to fail. I bought this model hoping it would be different, but it has a similar seam in the seat. So it’s only a matter of time before it cracks as well. I only hope it’s lasts longer than the year and a half the other one lasted.

I mean, it’s a toilet seat. If it doesn’t have spikes on it, and fits, not much to say about the function.HOWEVER…Kohler dropped the ball on not including instructions. Had to go to their website to see that what’s in the pictures in this listing were MOSTLY right…few minor differences…The posts the screws go into are rubber, with a metal wingnut. You will likely have to push the nut up to the bolt to get it to grab if you have a bidet or any other sort of attachment that would raise the seat. The open/closed tabs matter. You can probably figure it out, but worth double checking…and WHEN to close the tabs. Open=tabs rotate away from the bowl.Installation is to bend the wingnut vertical, push it and the rubber post through the toilet mounting hole. Make sure the wingnut is perpendicular to the tank (ie, going the same directions as your legs do when sitting on the seat). Then drop the screws through the seat mounts, line up with the post holes. Push the wingnut up to the screw, start tightening. Once it’s lined up, tightened all the way, and you’re “done”, push the gray tabs close (ie, push from outside to inside). Close the caps, done.Again, not difficult. You probably could figure out without instructions, but take the 30 seconds, review, and done.

If you have issues, just look on YouTube for Kohler ReadyLatch Toilet Seats. We have a Glacier Bay toilet but the seat was driving my crazy with the slamming!!! So, I replaced the GB seat with this one! Super design and really easy to install. Just WATCH the Kohler-made installation video as the Kohler seat does NOT come with any instructions!!!

In case someone is looking for a specific replacement for the “Rialto” toilet, the round version of this seat is a perfect replacement as my seat hinge snapped. Original parts are no longer available.Get the Ready Latch version. You do not need the extra mounting hardware that comes with this seat as long as you already have the bolts from the existing seat. Soft close is a bonus.

This toilet seat fits perfectly, does not slam when you close it, has very few parts to assemble, and installs in five minutes.I’m very happy with this toilet seat as it is very comfortable and easy to clean.

  22. Michele Dizdar

This toilet seat is strong and secure not like the particle board/wood ones that eventually become loose at the hinges and slip around. Easy to clean and install! I think this one will last a long time and stay looking nice and clean. Didn’t realize this would be important to me until I got this one, Lol.

I like that both portions of the seat close slowly, rather than just the top. I bought it to replace an earlier version of the same seat that had somehow developed cracks. I expected it to be trivial to replace it, but I doubt that I would ever have figured out how to install it on my own, but I found a video on the web that did a good job of showing how to do it. I am not permitted to provide a link to it here, but I assure you that it does exist and was extremely helpful.

The Do It Yourself Installation Video made installing the toilet seat a 10 min job.I highly recommend this product and the two installation videos that gave me the confidence to do it myself – You just have to hold the plastic screw in place as you use the screwdriver to screw in the screw. Alternatively, hold the screw with the screwdriver, and just turn the plastic screw holder on the bottom until it tightens and then use the screw driver. Don’t forget the two plastic cushions to snap into place on bottom of seat.

As of 4/11/24 Installed pretty easily for a woman who has never replaced a toilet seat & lid before. There werent instructions so the gasket over the screw was confusing but once I figured it out, it was easy. Installed flawless after that but does wobble a tiny bit. It does have the slow close thing on it and works as expected.I will update if necessary.

No instructions in the box. There are literally hundreds of how to videos for Kohler online. Save yourself some frustration by using the product number in the sort. It’s your best friend for this project!Toilet seat is fine. Lid Doesn’t slam. Comfortable to sit on. Super basic, does the job. Installation super quick once the directions were located.

Item arrived within 24 hours. Perfect fit. Easy installation. I’m having a little trouble using the easy release because I don’t want to be too rough with plastic parts and break it. Other than that, great product and awesome delivery speed. Prime is worth it in the case. Just use your own visual imagination!

  28. Runvet

I found it easy to install and comfortable to sit on. No need to reach under to blindly tighten a plastic bolt. Simply bend the silicon fastener up and drop it through the rim. Once you align the holes of the toilet seat with the holes in the rim, drop the metal bolts in and begin to tighten, which brings the fastener up to the back of the bowl to lock the seat in place. You can use a Phillips or a flat head, but my 6 inches by 3/8-inch flat head did the trick. The “Quite Close” silent and slow descent is a nice modern touch. It’s hard plastic so with the lid closed you can sit on it, but I wouldn’t recommend standing on it. The hinges are enclosed in plastic. Great design!

This seat is great quality, fit my toilet perfectly was so east to install and the self closing feature is a game changer. No more kids slamming this seat!!!!!!! This self closing feature itself is worth any price.

  30. ErinAZ

My old toilet seat broke and I have honestly never had to replace one before. I never thought I would be reading so many reviews (or writing one) for a toilet seat. This seat is from a good brand, feels sturdy, good quality, and was very easy for this newbie to install. I do wish there were simple instructions included in the box or in the packaging, but the pictures on the listing were enough to help me.

  31. L Metz

Upon arrival and opening the box/package, there were/are NO instructions. That is why I am not giving it 5 stars for ease of installation. Fortunately I was able to figure out how to install it, and I am a woman! YAY for me. It is a really nice seat for the price and works perfect!

  32. CG

Super easy to install once you watch the video. It is not intuitive when you look at the hardware that you recieve. The seat is comfortable and the soft close, closes really slow. I got this because my young grandson always puts the seat down after he uses the restroom, but he just gives it a push and it would slam shut. I was afraid it was going to slam shut and hurt him one of these times. This works perfectly. Closes slow and quiet and no chance of getting hurt.

  36. Mr Farris

Easiest toilet seat I’ve installed. Literally took one minute to install with just a screwdriver. The fit of the seat is good and seems a bit more comfortable than cheaper ones I’ve had.Seems like good quality and sturdiness but I guess we will see over time.

  37. R. L. Stone

Easy to install ,easy to remove for cleaning. The design of seat is ergonomically correct for our bums.

  38. Scott K

Pleased with the toilet seat. Looks good on our American Standard round toilet. Seat and cover close very slowly. Feels good in the hand. Was easy to install, though there were no printed instructions, just a QR code. So if that’s important to you be aware. The only reason this is a 4 and not a 5 is because it is not the most comfortable to sit on.

    Scott K
