Wish I would have bought something like this sooner. Just a good tool to have around if doing any electrical work.

The product works great, however I found it at a cheaper price at Home Depot. It was on clearance. So I did return the one back to Amazon.

Works perfect, is small and easy to fit into a tool bag. Was very interesting to go around my own house and test out all the GFCIs.

The lights and printing on this tester looked easier to read in the product listings, and they are in practice too. The GFI test button tripped the GFI circuit. I take pride in not having actually tested it on an incorrectly wired circuit (or I have tested it unknowingly, and it failed to detect it).At $10, it’s a good value.I’m not sure what might happen if I push the GFI test button when testing a non-GFI outlet, so I haven’t.I wish it would test 220/240 VAC circuits (installed for our new heat-pump drier), but I’m not complaining.

I am a home inspector and have used every type of outlet tester under the sun. When my last battery reliant one once again died, I decided to go with a simple plug and read device. What I like about this one is that there is a barrier between the indicator lights that makes it easy to tell if the adjacent light is on or off. Many other brands (no names, but…they’re yellow…) have almost translucent wall between the lights making it difficult to discern whether they are on or off. It’s tiny, it’s solid. it’ reliable, it’s not gimmicky! Best one I’ve use yet for its purposes!

Easy to use – plug in and read the lights to see if you have a problem with an outlet.I have Starlink, and the router can be sensitive to a weak ground – like it won’t boot at all unless you have a good grounded circuit. Unfortunately, sometimes it just won’t reboot for some other reason.I thought I had a defective outlet, so I got this device, which showed that the outlet was fine.Testing the outlet avoids my trying to unplug, wait a while then re-plug the Starlink router in. Now that I know the outlet is good, if the Starlink doesn’t quickly go into its normal reboot sequence, I know to unplug ALL the cables and replug them and start over, rather than questioning whether the outlet is working.

My father-in-law is a retired, lifetime electrician. He owns this tool, as do his two sons, and now my daughter. She had an issue with her GFCI outlet not resetting properly according to the LED “Reset” light. Well, with one quick plug-in and reading of this Klein outlet tester, she found out it was working just fine. Instead, it was an issue with the LED of the GFCI. The outlet is fine, but the LED was faulty. If you are a novice, purchase this outer tester before seeking professional advice. It is so easy to use and read. We only buy Klein tools when it comes to electrical work.

I couldn’t find my tester so I bought this one that included a GFI tester. It all works well and Klein is a recognized brand for electricians.

I’m no electrician, but I wanted to make sure everything was safe around my home. Got this Receptacle Tester, and boy, did it come in handy! Found a bad GFCI next to my sink that could’ve ended up being really dangerous. I only use this thing once a year or so to test stuff, but it’s worth every penny. The chart on it was super helpful – made it easy for me to figure out what was wrong. Build quality seems solid too. I’m giving this 4+ stars. Honestly, for the peace of mind, you can’t beat it.

Checked all gfi outlets in my house, all were good except one new one I added. Quickly fixed it with the help of this tester. Works great.

I’ve used this plug tester for a couple weeks now and it’s worked without fail. It’s a great plug tester and is built pretty decent. I’ll update this review if I end up having problems with it. Great buy
