When I worked for a major West Coast city, the general services guys used Klein tools. Quite an endorsement. This unit is rugged and works well. It’s most useful for trouble shooting circuit breakers that have been in the “on” position so long, the switch doesn’t flip to the “off” position when it breaks the circuit. The panel LOOKS like everything’s okay and you can’t find out which one’s bad. This tool quickly finds the bad actor. Highly recommended.

Mostly works as intended. Circuit tester works well. Sometimes trying to match breaker to circuit challenging. But that could be a wiring issue. Prevents a lot of leg work running from outlet to breaker box. Would buy again.

Mr. Tanguay –
Earlier this year I bought a no-name circuit breaker finder because I had some recent electrical work done and I really needed to know what breaker controlled what circuit in my house. It was about $10 cheaper than this Klein tool. Big mistake! That one couldn’t find a circuit breaker if it bit it in the a**. I threw it away and ordered this one. This one works great. I found one breaker that was labeled incorrectly and found another one that was feeding a circuit I had been searching for. I’m mighty happy to see how well this tool works. I should have ponied up the extra ten bucks the first time. Klein makes some good stuff.

Several people have lived in our home and done renovations over the years. There was no way to figure out the electrical panel. I discovered this and gave it a try! It worked great. Watch videos before using it. Now I need to share it with someone who needs to identify their electrical circuits.

Works great, and I like that the transmitter attaches to the receiver for easy storage and makes it hard to lose it.

This circuit breaker identifier is very easy to use. It not only identifies a circuit breaker but also provides wiring information. It indicates visually and audibly when identifying circuits. Visually when checking circuit wiring correctness. It will indicate faults in wiring visually. This device is a great addition to a handyman’s toolbox as well as the professional electrician.

Everything right out of the package was simple to use, readily identified my breakers in my house panel reliably and safely. Worth every penny.

I found this device very helpful in the circuit tracing in my 1920 house. It worked for me and the video’s posted were helpful too. It has helped this novice in accurately providing a clear picture of the outlets and switches in my house. I was able to make a detailed drawing with the outlets and switches in this old house to assist me in where to place space heaters safely. I found the kitchen outlets were on a circuit breaker by themselves which was helpful. It accurately found the correct circuit breakers for each outlet. I would love to have the extra accessory of the light bulb outlet adapter but it was not easily attached to the order or it was too expensive to add on. And why would I need to buy four of them? It comes with the 9V battery, and the addition of one adapter in the package would make it a sweet deal, and a notch above the rest. I highly recommend this product.

A great company, with great tools, and worth the few extra pennies for a brand that has been around and in the hands of not only ‘electricians’ but general contractors, home owners, DIYers and all kinds of mechanics, and so many tradesmen as well as technicians and inspectors.Highly recommended, and happy 2024.

This electrical tool is easy to use and is very accurate. Battery life is outstanding and tge tools is very durable and useful for finding an electrical circuit.

Voice of Reason –
The breaker finder is great but I think a little too sensitive. Signal will flow over the wanted breaker plus the two adjacent breakers. The current finder could be more sensitive compared to another less expensive brand.Rating based on combo package

Well pleased with ease of use and accuracy

It has become indispensable when performing electrical tasks, its accuracy is incredible, I can identify circuits without having to turn off the breakers.

This product is tops, it actually does what is intended. Finding a circuit somtimes is a challenge. Especially when the panel is not labeled, this is the tool for that. Just plug in the circuit checker and go to panel and hear the tone change when it identifies what belongs where.

This unit works perfectly. I was able to identify the circuit breakers associated with multiple outlets throughout my house and garage. My neighbor has since borrowed it. He accomplished the same thing, and he is not usually very good at these types of things. Don’t do like I did and first buy a cheap version of this tool just to send it back, because they just don’t work reliably. Just spend the money on one of these and get the job done right with confidence.

I used this nearly every day for two weeks to update/correct my CB panel labels. It does take a few minutes of practice to get the hang of scanning your CBs so that you get a reliable alert on the correct CB. I had to check 17 circuits, and I labeled every receptacle and switch with a CB number sticker (also purchased on Amazon). Well worth the money for me. Doing all this revealed and open ground circuit in my garage and I had an issue in my living room that I called an electrician to clean up/double check. I still have a mystery, double gang CB in my panel. It has been off since I bought the house, yet everything works. DIY recommendation, check every receptacle on your property (UPPER AND LOWER positions) with a three-light circuit tester.

This was a gift for my fiance because he has learned to do all the electrical work in our house. This tool has made his life a lot easier for trying to figure out what breakers connect to what areas of the house because the electrical circuits are a mess!

Worth every penny to ensure your safety. There may be cheaper products, and do you really want to put your personal safety in the hands of cheaper product just to save a few dollars? This is where a brand you can trust is most important. This finder works great and is very, very easy to use and paid for itself in just the very first use.

I recently moved our kitchen from one part of the house to another room. This tool helped track wiring and identify and organize all the existing circuits, and create new ones where needed. It allowed me to allocate circuits to specific parts of the new kitchen more effectively. It’s also helped me locate where all of the existing circuits’ receptacles and fixtures are elsewhere in the house. I didn’t build the house but have made many changes over the years – and the builder did not do things to code. With this tool, I could do the work myself, without help.

Mr. Picky –
Well designed, but the sniffer is not as selective as I’d hoped when trying to trace the breaker for a circuit. Seems subject to crosstalk from the wiring to the breaker, so it’s difficult to identify the breaker without removing the panel cover. Perhaps two or more levels of signal power from the transmitter would help. The GFI test button is very handy.

I was really wanting the breaker finder but opted for the kit because I wanted a dedicated circuit tester as a backup to my Gardner Bender wire strippers that have a built-in tester. The breaker finder works brilliantly! It is accurate and very easy to use. Absolutely love this tool. The circuit tester in mediocre, unfortunately. It seems to require direct contact with a wire to sense current. My old GB wire strippers can sense current from a couple of inches away and seems more reliable. If you want a breaker finder and already have a circuit tester, I’d suggest skipping the kit and buying just the breaker finder.

Great product and it works. I did have problem with the delivery so I emailed the seller. He emailed me back right away and take care of it. I enjoy working with him and I highly recommend this company. A 10 plus.

Two of my outlets stopped working in my master bathroom and yet the lights were still on. I went around the house and found other outlets also not functioning. My breaker box wasn’t labeled correctly because only one breaker said it controlled that room. Knowing nothing about this kind of stuff, I called my dad who told me about a tester like this. I immediately ordered this and it arrived at my house before I even woke up the next day. It indicates if the wiring is correct, if there is current, and which breaker controlled all of these outlets. This was incredibly useful and kept me from frying myself when I replaced the bad gfci outlet. 😂

I’ve used Klein Tools for years in the Telco Industry, but they make great electrician gear, too. Kept blowing a GFCI outlet in my garage, and believed the issue was an outlet outside my garage. NOPE! The GFCI circuit turned out to be crossed with a circuit to my office. The electrician had run BOTH circuits through another outlet and had cross wired the neutral through it. Luckily, I used the voltage detector and cross wire indicator. The toner function showed me what breakers were actually crossed and once I flipped the breakers, I was able to straighten the whole mess out. I still have my original problem with a dead outside outlet, but it doesn’t show up in the breaker box.

The wiring in our house makes no kind of sense. This has saved my husband so much aggravation! Highly recommend!

William Gay –
Works amazingly. Makes changing outlets so much faster and easier. Only issue is that it will detect wrong outlets if the feed line is close to that breaker, so always verify twice before tripping breakers.

I love this tool, it is fantastic for locating circuits and going back to the fusebox. You can trace the cables through the walls with sound. What circuit breaker is your outlet on this will find it in a minute.

If your home is like many the panel labels can be faded/hard to read or perhaps not accurate. This tool is great for validating panel labelling as well as checking your work and testing GFI outlets.

Works as described. Just follow the instructions and you should have no problem. Labeled all the circuits in my house with ease.

I am so happy I discovered this from youtube videos. I’ve already used it a half a dozen times to fix some badly mapped out outlets. This is a great start for DIYers like myself. The plug also acting as a current detector is great to make sure you’re working when it’s safe to do so.

I showed this to my girlfriends dad he’s a welder but fixes anything. And his reaction was priceless. He goes “where mine?” LOLLove how it’s two tools in one and the outlet tester docks in the breaker finder.I personally think this is a necessity doing your own DIY electrical work hanging fans and such as you should not be working anything hot downstream of a breaker because why not just shut it off??

ectrical Work. If you plan to do ANY electrical work they buy this tool, it will pay for its self in a single use. You should also get a voltage tester to double check for “live” wires. I have worked on too many half-assed jobs performed by “professionals” to trust anything. These tools will help you ensure that the work is done correctly and safely https://www.amazon.com/Non-Contact-Detector-Klein-Tools-NCVT1P/dp/B099SJ6469/ref=sr_1_5?crid=IFFMVGMJI92T&keywords=klein+circuit+tester&qid=1680875826&s=hi&sprefix=klein+circuit+tester%2Ctools%2C115&sr=1-5

oint. I’m a DIYer and this saves me from either bothering my wife or running up and down the steps. The accessory pack is 100% worth it and I’ve tracked many light fixtures back to the breaker.I find this very accurate as long as you move it slowly around all the breakers at least twice so it can figure out the false from the real.I like this tool enough I bought another for my father.

e house in a few hours. I love this thing. I’m able to know exactly which circuit every light and plug is in my house now instead of flipping one and seeing what turns off. Knowing general room/areas is good, but knowing the exact plugs that will turn off with each breaker is awesome. Could have done the whole house a lot quicker with a helper, but I did it myself going back and forth and got the whole house done in a few hours.

. No more guessing. WOW this product can actually save a marriage. No more yelling across the house to make sure you turned off the right circuit breaker… just plug it in or use the alligator clips with the adapter to the switch and you can find the circuit you’re going to be working with without guessing. It’s so easy to use and accurate too. I love this tool so much I even bought a case for it here on amazon so I can keep all the pieces together in one place. Highly recommend this tool to anyone who like me have upgraded to smart switches and outlets around their home.

a 3 story 40 year old condo they just bought as a fixer-upper… Poor bastard was running up and down stairs like OJ Simpson running from the cops trying to trouble-shoot bad outlets, etc. Bought him this for Xmas and he almost cried when he opened it. Now, I want one! Hey Chris.. Check my wish list damn it! Hook a brother up! I’m damn near sixty and the knees are snapping like big mouth bass on a hot summer day! When I die, you can give it to your brother and be the friggin hero! Come on man, they’re Klein Tools… You cant go wrong!

it breakers no problem. I have 8 or more breaker boxes with varying degrees of labeling. Some boxes might have 3 breakers labelled, while other are complete, but are mislabeled. I have been trying to find a circuit that has no label, so it can be switched off. This is quite straight forward to use on normal breakers. The mystery circuit was on a old split 220 circuit, and not labelled. It did find the correct breaker, but it took a little more practice.Overall I am happy with how this performs.

pping breaker switches. I love when a product meets or exceeds expectations and this Klein AC Circuit Breaker Finder With Integrated GFCI Outlet Tester is that tool. I was needing to update the bathroom plugs and switches. It was great to plug in the transmitter into the outlet then go to the electrical panel and use the receiver to find the correct breaker. You have to pass the receiver over the breakers in the panel first to train the receiver, then make a second pass to locate the correct breaker, the unit starts flashing and beeping at the right breaker switch. For a couple dollars more you can add the accessory kit that usually runs around $15. If you need to change outlets in your place, this tool will make your life easer (who doesn’t need that?).
