For my entire life, my hair has been wildly uncontrollable and I’ve had to keep very short hair, because of its wiry hair texture. A stylist at the local salon told me that, as an Asian American, my hair was “mongoloid structure” which makes traditional styling products difficult as they aren’t really made for my hair structure. I gave it a try and it is the hair styling and management solution I’ve been looking for for decades.

This is my first time using a hair powder and I’m not too impressed with it.I’ve applied this to damp hair & felt that it *immediately* dried up my hair (not a con, just an observation).I would say it did a below average job of styling my hair. It looked like hair that’s been shampoo’d & left to dry on it’s own or towel dried… and not just in terms of sheen (of which, there was none… as advertised) but also in terms of control.After a few hours, I tried to dampen my hands & rework some moisture back in + restyle but that only seemed to work for a bit before it began to look “towel dried” again.About my hair: it’s on the short side (<3") & naturally curly.Overall, I'm not impressed with it & would not purchase this.3/5

This is an interesting option, new to me, for styling hair. I enjoy the mild but pleasant smell of the shaker bottle applied powder, and it holds my hair fairly well. I wouldn’t call it strong hold, however, and I applied varying amounts to see how the powder worked.I started with shower damp hair and it seemed to work about as well as a less-than-firm hold gel. Given that I needed to apply a good amount (8-10 shakes maybe? a solid dusting) to work as I’d like, it seems on the expensive side. My hair remained less tacky than a firmer hold gel, which was nice. Washed out quickly in the shower.

I bought this product in search of something different from the same gel, cream, paste, wax, rabbit holes that flood the market. I have never used a product that styles my unruly hair however I’d like without globbing my hair down with wax or paste. It’s a strong, lightweight hold with a matte finish. I bought this hair texture powder for my husband who has thick Asian hair. He can never find products that don’t leave his hair crunchy or greasy. But KAMI has changed everything! He can style his hair however he wants and it looks amazing! It’s very similar to a texture powder but this one is a stronger hold and lasts all day. I will definitely be repurchasing!
