We got three of these little JBL speakers for throwing events, and couldn’t be happier. In the past, we’ve set up a big, bulky sound system that was neither waterproof, nor easy to set up/tear down, but since we’re musicians and sound engineers, we wanted something that could actually provide high quality sound for an event. My brother has Sonos, but it’s super expensive and I thought the sound was only so-so. As musicians, we’ve had JBLs for years, so when I got on Amazon and saw these, I knew we had to try them. We placed them outdoors on wall hanging stands (Amazon has a bunch,) placed just above head level for good coverage. We had each one covering, roughly, 1,000 sqft area, and the crispness of the speaker and bass responsiveness was perfect. The only down side is that each speaker must be paired with its own bluetooth compatible device, (so 2 speakers can’t run off of one iPhone or iPad,) and there didn’t seem to be any way to network the speakers, so this is something to keep in mind. Otherwise, though, for the price, this is hard to beat.

For a small speaker, this is great for small spaces. OR, if you just need quiet background music, is great for large spaces, even outdoors. It is certainly loud enough to annoy others at the beach if that’s your goal, but I wouldn’t use it to fill a back yard party. I got no where near 12 hours of use out of a charge, but I did get 7 so it’s still more than enough for most needs.

I was pleased with sound quality, ease of use, design, and simple setup. I would highly reccomend this item. I am also happy that it has a long run time and a high number of recharges. I am looking forward to using it at the beach without having to wonder how long it will stay playing and seeing the charge meter , indicating how much charge is left. We use a speaker up to 6 hours in a day and the two we were using never held up for that long and did not provide the sound quality this one offers.

Great buy for the price. While I wish it came with some type of case as the container it comes in is just solely for that, there aren’t many cons to this device. It is small and it packs a heavy sound. Overall, the quality is great.The battery life also deserves some mentioning as it can lasts a long time without charge. I’d say at least 8+ hours. Buy it.

I needed a speaker for my desktop computer, so I researched availability and ratings on Amazon. This speaker is great! I use it for my computer and it has clear sound for both music and spoken word uses.I paired it to my iPhone and I walked around the house, listening to the end of a gripping mystery book on Audible. It worked well and the sound was great, better than listening to it on my iPhone with ear buds.It has a long battery and it charges up very quickly.

I have an older car and my radio broke so I needed to buy a speaker. The sound and base is great, actually louder than my car speakers were. Only problem is the battery life doesn’t last very long. But I appreciate the sound and easy Bluetooth connect, and it also comes in a styrofoam box you can keep it in when you’re not using it. Great for the price.

This Bluetooth speaker is the best bang for your buck. I had a JBL Flip 3 back in 2016 for my birthday and it was a cool little present that my homeboy back in the deployment gave me. I love the battery life and sound but the charging port got messed up and I can no longer charge the battery. So I bought a JBL Flip 5 and it came in the mail so quick, same day delivery. The bass and the sound quality is MILES away better, wow this is the best birthday present I bought for myself lol.

I’ve been debating on getting a portable Bluetooth speaker for quite a while and decided to finally pull the trigger. Got this today and am very impressed with the sound quality for the price. I’m pretty well versed in the audio world (used to sell home theater, headphones, Bluetooth speakers and car audio for 6 years) but this thing’s the bomb digitty! It’s slightly larger than a 16 oz can, doesn’t weigh a lot but feels dense and solid and high quality. I’ll be using this a lot. BBQ’s, podcasts/music in the shower or doing stuff around the apartment. Fits in a cup holder for a lawn chair or car (if you have an old car with no bluetooth or your speakers are bad, etc..) it sounds pretty dang good for its size. I’d highly recommend if you’re looking for something good for under $100.

Purchased for a recent vacation trip and it drew attention. Sound quality is exactly what’s to be expected from JBL and frankly, I was pleasantly surprised with it. Hit the bass boost in a large room and away you go! Now I read with interest the poor reviews primarily centered around battery life or lack thereof. I believe the issue(s) with the battery is consumer induced. I charge the unit before using it (the manual suggest not operating it while plugged in) and directly afterwards before storage. After eight weeks of usage, not so much as a hiccup. Now I imagine running the battery low or until the unit shuts down (also not recommended in the owner’s manual) and storing in a discharged state is counter intuitive, unless the the operator has an IQ equal to that of a root vegetable. I highly recommend this product… it performs wonderfully and I imagine, as a JBL product, will so for some time to come. Great value for the dollar. Cheers

The only issue I have with these is that the battery life leaves much to be desired and the recharge time is rather long. Even if it’s plugged in while in use, it drains it’s battery pretty quickly and it turns off.It sounds great though. And they easily connect to each other, so if you have more than one you can really fill your space with sound which is fun.

I needed a portable speaker for yard work and relaxing on the screen porch. This little gem does exactly what I hoped it would do. It paired easily and stayed paired even when not used for a few days. It has really good sound and can be dialed up for lots of it when needed. It charges quickly when using a fast charger and I’ve never totally depleted the charge after using it for +/- 5 hours at a time. It’s the perfect size to take along, and I love the color. I would repurchase it if something happened to it.

I primarily use the FLIP 5 on the ranch or while doing projects around the house. It’s small enough that it’ll easily fit in the glove box on my gator, and when using in a room it’s got enough sound volume and quality to carry without being overpowering – when it’s time to really crank it up I use my JBL Boombox which will absolutely fill a room.I’ve had the FLIP 5 for a few weeks, battery life is good enough. Lasts about a week of sporadic use. All in all, definitely recommend to anyone who needs:- small form factor blue tooth speaker- well made, good sound quality and good battery life- performs well in open spaces, does great in enclosed spaces- acceptable price point

The sound is crystal clear, good depth of sound with just enough base, in a compact case. I use it at the pool, while working on pottery, and I got one for my office. I love the speaker, it has great sound quality, although I wish It was a bit louder, and it looks great, small so fits in small compartments and overall a very good speaker. However, the main reason why I got it was because I wanted an alternative to my headphones for when I don’t feel like wearing them on my pc and that’s where an issue comes in, it has some connection issues when it comes to my pc, a lot of the time it just doesn’t show up on Bluetooth discovery, and then it shows it’s connected, but it’s actually disabled on sound devices, sometimes It’s something in sound settings, and then it’s a lot deeper, I still get it on in less than 5 minutes, but it’s an annoying inconvenience, and sometimes I just put on my headphones if it wants to act up

Before my roommate moved out, a point of contention was the extremely loud rap music coming from his room. He dropped it one time and I took a good look at his godforsaken speakers (the root of all our problems), and it was definitely JBL. I don’t know if it was this specific product, but it looks just like it, only I bought it in teal. If you want quality sound that can withstand your blasting music after an extended period of time, this is the one you want, for sure. I also prefer this one over my last speakers because for one, when you turn it on and connect it, the sound it makes when it wakes up doesn’t kill your eardrums. In fact, the chime is very quiet and pleasant. That’s one of the reasons why I knew I wouldn’t have this issue with JBL; I never knew when my roommate would connect his speakers—the noise would just start without warning. I very much appreciate that with this product as opposed to my previous speakers.

I bought this portable speaker for use when grilling and hanging out on my front porch. I literally took it out of the box , put a portable charger on it and connected it to my Iphone in less than a minute. I pulled up a live Pink Floyd concert from my YouTube downloads. I was immediately impressed with how deep the bass was on such a small unit. I did a little grilling and basically listened to the whole concert and could not get over how great the quality of sound was. I have a Roku set up to my living room TV and unfortunately the remote recently went bad so I installed a Roku remote app on my phone until I can replace it. The JBL speaker was sitting on my coffee table and picked up my TV. I left it on the table and let the TV play through it and didnt have to turn the volume up very loud to notice that the speaker sounded much better than my TV speakers did. I am very satisfied with the price of the speaker, the quality of the sound it has for the price I paid. Well done JBL !

This is my second purchase of the JBL Flip5 speaker – my 1st one ordered in 2021, and still functioning perfectly. I got this 2nd one (in a different color) because my husband was always borrowing the original speaker, so it seemed like a good idea for us to each have our own.He *loves* the quality of sound, and so do I. I think the battery life is excellent, but I usually don’t run mine for more than 2 hrs at a time. These little speakers are GREAT and a super value for $$.

I bought this one to replace one I had lost that belonged to a friend, but I’m genuinely surprised at how great the sound quality is for such a little speaker. I mean, it’s not a tiny speaker, just a small speaker you can take anywhere, but it delivers a sound punch and it’s really clear sounding too. No distortion and even the bass is nicely audible. I will definitely be ordering more from JBL in the future, whenever the need arises. Hopefully not how I lost the first one, when I was tubing down a river and it fell into the river 😭Anyway, recommend this product, it’s also waterproof so there’s that.

My daughter got this for use at school and with friends. My son in law also has one. The sound quality and volume are tremendous, and it’s still a small enough speaker to easily take places. No trouble connecting. We haven’t really used it enough to know the battery life yet. But we are not disappointed. I highly recommend.
