I have to test out plugs doing services. Sometimes home owners or “handymen” rig plugs to look correct and grounded on regular plug testers, the ones that don’t voltage readings displayed on this tester I purchased. It’s just a little too fat fitting on my tool pouch.Still use it.

I love this because it not only tells you what is wrong with the outlet but also the voltage.

Found two ground faults in my living room alone. Now we know why router’s keep rebooting, we had the booster rebooting because the outlet was not grounded. Performance was easy to read. Very basic and a good start to fixing your household 👌

This device solves the problem I was having, I’m not an electrician and I do not use a multimeter often enough to feel comfortable with it. This plug tells me if the circuit is right and the voltage at the plug. That’s all I need.

This GFCI outlet tester has a super easy to read LCD display that makes testing outlets a breeze. The tester has two main buttons on the front – one for power and one for testing. When in testing mode, the VAC appears on screen and on the bottom you will see an indicator of CORRECT in green if the wiring is right. Very easy to read 1.7″ screen. The tester requires 3 AAA batteries for use.A solid outlet tester and very easy to use.

Well made. Good info on screen. Replaced my old, low-tech version that just had 3 LEDs. If you are trying to trace down a power issue this could be a handy tool.

This outlet tester stands out as the most advanced one I’ve ever come across. Unlike the usual cryptic orange and red light sequences, this device boasts a full LED readout and a unique capability to test GFCI outlets. It’s essentially a hybrid of an outlet tester and a multimeter, providing not only diagnostics but also revealing the voltage running through the outlet. It’s a fantastic tool for a quick and comprehensive assessment of your outlets. One notable feature is its limitation when testing GFCI outlets in ungrounded setups. In my older home without grounded outlets meeting current code requirements, I was keen to ensure the GFCIs were functioning correctly. Unfortunately, this tester falls short in such scenarios, as it refuses to test a GFCI outlet that lacks grounding. To confirm this, I connected a new GFCI outlet with a ground, successfully tested it, and then removed the ground to test it again. Disappointingly, the test button failed to trigger the circuit on the ungrounded GFCI.In conclusion, while this outlet tester excels in various diagnostic aspects, its inability to test ungrounded GFCI outlets might be a drawback for those with older homes like mine.

Vine Review of the DURFICST Electrical Outlet Tester. We had a sparking wall plug many years ago that really scared our family. An Electrician fixed that plug, but I’ve wondered about the rest of the plugs in the house since then.I can now put my mind at ease, because I’ve checked the plugs on the first floor of our home, and will finish the rest this evening. All of the first floor plugs have tested as they should be,and that is a relief. We don’t think of electrical plugs until they don’t work, they spark, or they cause a house fire. If you get a warning of a plug not working, or one that sparks, you catch a lucky break if you get it fixed. The plug that was sparking all by itself in our home was only found because our child went to unplug their music player and saw the sparking. We were about to leave on a road trip and we have may have come home to a burned up home.Electrical systems and components don’t last forever and we need to be vigilant and check our systems before we have problems. This little DURFICST Electrical Outlet Tester tells you right away if you have a problem, you get a green light or a red light, and the digital info on the screen telling you what is correct , and what needs to be fixed. The batteries that came with the tester did not work, but we have AAA batteries, and the tester worked as soon as I installed them. I am happy with this tester, and when we move in a couple of years I will be testing every plug in that new to us home too.
