This is a fantastic controller and the price is great. The controller is durable and easy to clean. The braided cable doesn’t tangle. It also just feels great to use with a nice weight and grip to it.No button sticking and with the hall effect sticks, no drift!

This controller will not start my XBOX series X using the XBOX button, but works OK otherwise. I sent a note to support and no response yet.Update …I updated this review to 5 stars. I contacted Gamesir and after a brief exchange of messages they promptly sent me a new working controller.Overall I am very impressed with the way this controller works. The joysticks are very responsive and the feel of the trigger buttons are great. I have a MS Elite wireless controller which is a bit more configurable, but this controller actually seems more comfortable and responsive. It’s definitely a great controller for the price. Hopefully it lasts.

After doing some reading and watching some reviews, I decided to buy a Gamesir G7 SE last year, and it’s been my go-to game controller ever since. I play a lot of BeamNG and other simulation games where precise control is important, so hall effect sensors for the analog inputs was a must-have. Out of the box, the calibration was spot-on, and I haven’t felt the need to calibrate it or use Gamesir’s special software. The sticks and triggers are smooth, precise, and easy to use for extended periods. The center deadzone on the sticks is so small it practically doesn’t exist, the triggers are super comfortable with light springs, and both have almost no noticeable friction in their movements. This was a huge improvement over my old Logitech F310, whose deadzones and stiff, stubby triggers made driving in BeamNG a chore, especially on highways where you hold the throttle (right trigger) partway and make small steering corrections with the stick.Combined with other inputs, you can use the M key at the bottom to set up the two lockable rear buttons, individually switch the triggers to analog or hair-trigger mode, and save these settings to one of four selectable profiles. You can also use it to adjust the volume and game/voice-chat bias coming out of the 3.5mm audio jack. The G7 SE comes with a nice braided USB-C cord and a removable magnetic faceplate with anti-friction rings for the analog sticks. While its non-SE sibling may win over some buyers with microswitch face buttons and rubberized grips, it downgrades to normal potentiometers for its analog inputs and loses the locking mechanism for the rear buttons. Personally, I’m used to the feel of membrane buttons anyway, so no complaints there. That said, I hope Gamesir makes a “G7 Pro” one day that gives you the best of both worlds. To wrap things up: If you don’t mind it being wired-only and lacking a couple of more luxurious features, the Gamesir G7 SE is one of the best gaming controllers $45 can buy, and certainly a steal compared to some high-end first-party console controllers that develop drift and other issues after regular use.

After purchasing my 400th official ms xbox controller, mostly because of stick drift, I was stoked to find this hall effect controller for PC. I was even more amped to see the ridiculously low price. In my excitement to get this beauty I ended up purchasing two after the first one got lost for a few days in transit. Happened to like the product so much I kept em both.Upon opening the box I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this controller. It felt really good in my hands, not light and cheap as many 3rd party controllers are prone to being. The buttons and shoulder triggers feel snappy. Not quite mechanical switch snappy but good none the less. The shoulder buttons have light texturing for added no slip. Thats not what we came to the show for though. Its all about the analogue sticks. They are super crisp. 4 months on and there is 0 drift. Light texturing on the edges help you avoid fumbling the stick in crucial moments. Any type of game I’ve played I have seen extremely precise input from this device. The included wire is very long, plenty enough to reach across my room. For anyone who’s looking for a quality controller with a hell of good price, that doesnt drift after 2 weeks of owning it, I can not recommend this enough.

Excellent controller! My new favorite controller with my Xbox Series X. Read on as I compare this controller to others I’ve had and also how to successfully extend the cord length.Playing FPS games, I’ve gone through 3 official Microsoft Xbox controllers. Each developing stick drift after less than 6 months. I didn’t really like the official controllers and I started using PowerA Spectra Infinity wired controllers. I liked the PowerA controllers better as I could set a shorter distance on depressing the two rear trigger buttons and also the inclusion of the custom programmable buttons on the back of the controller. However, I went through a few of these controllers too as they also developed stick drift after a number of months. The PowerA controllers have an app so I could try and calibrate the worn out sticks. This was only a temporary fix as it would decrease responsiveness of the sticks and they would eventually drift further.I’ve now bought this GameSir G7 SE Wired Controller. It is GREAT! Right out of the box the sticks have no drift. Excellent responsiveness and control. It has the two programmable back buttons and through the GameSir Nexus app, on my Xbox, I was able to set the rear triggers to be hair triggers.Everything is good, EXCEPT I needed more cable length. With my old PowerA controllers I was using a 9.8 feet USB 3.0 extension cable with no problem. That same cable extension would NOT work with my new GameSir G7 SE plugged into it.This led to experimentation. I had a 3.3 feet USB 2.0 extension cable and it worked fine plugging it into the Series X and then plugging the GameSir G7 SE’s cable into that USB extension. However connecting two 3.3 feet USB 2.0 extension cables together and then the GameSir G7 SE cable did NOT work. I had a single 6.5 feet USB 2.0 extension cable that I tried. Also did NOT work. Here comes the interesting part: ADDING A NON-POWERED USB HUBAdding a non-powered USB hub allowed me to use longer extension cables with this controller. So my current setup is: Xbox Series X > non-powered USB hub > 6.5 feet USB 2.0 extension cable > GameSir G7 SE Controller cable > Controller.I was also able to get the longer 9.8 feet USB 3.0 extension cable to work, but it needed to be in the following order: Xbox Series X > 9.8 feet USB 3.0 cable extension > non-powered USB hub > GameSir G7 SE Controller cable > Controller. All seems to work well with the extension cables, including with a wired headset being plugged into the GameSir G7 SE controller.USB extension cables I’ve tested:Amazon Basics USB-A 2.0 Extension Cable, 3.3 feet = Works without needing a USB hub.2x Amazon Basics USB-A 2.0 Extension Cables connected together, (3.3 feet each, 6.6 feet connected together) = Works, but needs a USB hub before or after the extension cables.Amazon Basics USB-A 2.0 Extension Cable, 6.5 feet = Works, but needs a USB hub before or after the extension cable.Amazon Basics USB-A 3.0 Extension Cable, 9.8 feet = Works, but needs a USB hub AFTER the extension cable. (Xbox > Extension Cable > USB Hub > GameSir G7 SE cable > controller)USB Hubs tested and working:Anker 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub, Ultra-Slim Data USB Hub with 2 ft Extended Cable, Model: AK-A7516012 (A7516)Insignia USB 2.0 4-Port Hub, Model: NS-PCH5420An old “Xtreme Tech” USB 2.0 Hub from Five BelowMy guess is other non-powered USB hubs may work too.If this controller keeps working as well as it does now, and lasts longer than 6 months, I’m going to be very pleased!

I want to start by saying I was in a bmstate of shock when I happened upon this controller, I was playing an fps on Xbox called PUBG and my Xbox wireless controller started malfunctioning buttons were registering that they were being pressed when they weren’t and the joysticks were sticking and it just felt terrible. So I went looking online. Stumbled upon the gamesir g7 se and man let me tell you what. This thing is great. The Nexus gamesir app is a little confusing at first but once you get the hang of it the amount of bells and whistles that come with this controller are astounding now some people won’t like it because it is a wired controller. It does not support the use of batteries or battery packs but the braided cable that it comes with is really strong and extremely long. You are able to unplug the controller so you can store it easier. The programmable buttons on the back are really well designed and have blocking mechanism so If you don’t want to use them they will remain flush against the bottom so it feels just like a regular controller and the Hall effect sticks are what I really was looking for in a new controller because if you have ever owned a console you know that one things stays the same, after a few months of use the old controllers would start to get the dreaded stick drift. With these baby’s you can say good bye to that age old problem of peasants haha. I digress… There is an extra button in between the right joystick and the dpad called the M button which you use to map buttons or unmap buttons. But it serves multiple purposes one if you press and hold the M button and the left dpad it will turn the game volume up and the voice chat down and vice versa. Which is really a game changer for today’s games. The M button and up on the dpad turns the game volume up and vice versa for the down d pad button. Oh and the dpad is a membrane it’s not stiff and crappy like the other doads of yester year. The triggers can be customized by making them hair triggers in your gamesir Nexus app you will discover that you will want some dead zone at the beginning of their travel because boy let me tell you it’s embarrassing to shoot your teammate in the back on accident. The face plate of the g7 SE controller is magnetic and removable really easily and I believe it is also safe to be drawn and painted on though I haven’t gotten the courage to let my daughter paint it for me. The joysticks can also be put into “raw mode” which gives you more precision for those sniper shots from a medium distance and the controller is light and very comfortable to use for hours on end.I will say there was only one thing I didn’t like about the controller when I first got it and that was the fact that they moved the media and start button up near the top of the controller by the Xbox button so it was awkward for me to loot because I loot with my menu open mostly, but after I got my handhold on the controller adjusted and got used to it, I don’t even know how I could have been slightly bothered by it. I know I missed some things that are gonna be really cool as well but my teammates are telling at me to ready up so I gotta go. If you play pubg on console. I will see you on the FPP battlegrounds

I’ve had two Xbox series X controllers go bad. Both wireless. One failed because of stick drift, the other a bad wired connection port on controller. I loved the design but not the unreliability. The Gamesir G7 is similar but the button placement is taking getting used to. It seems extremely well made and the controller functions are awesome. I like the feel. I haven’t yet found a use for the bottom two paddle switches but hope to. Most Xbox games aren’t designed for the extra buttons but some are. This is probably the best Xbox controller right now. It has more function buttons as well. I do wish it was a little heavier but that’s a personal preference. If you like vibration feedback. The Xbox controller was more beefy if that makes sense. This has custom configuration software. I need to get more into that. I expect it to last.

After trying a few paddle controllers for Call of Duty, I can finally say that I have found my favorite. I was looking for something with paddles at a reasonable price and I could not believe that a controller at this price offered Hall Effect joysticks. After a firmware update, the controller can also run at a 1000Hz polling rate, which makes it feel really snappy in-game. All my inputs feel super responsive. As for comfort, it feels really good in my hands. It has a texture on the back that allows me to hold the controller with ease. It is based on the Xbox shape and layout, so something to keep in mind for those who prefer something different. For those who may be using Kontrol Freek or a similar product the correct size for this controllers thumbstick is actually the PS4 version even though this is and Xbox controller layout. The one warming for those who will be using this on an Xbox console is that you will not be able to use the headphone jack on the controller in the 1000hz polling rate mode. This is not a problem for me as I play on PC with a separate dedicated headset and microphone. With the above in mind, I highly recommend this controller as you cannot beat the price for a controller that includes 2 rear paddles, hall effect joysticks, and 1000hz polling.

Purchased this controller a while ago as a backup to my Scuf instinct pro controller for when it eventually gave out on me. I was intrigued by the Hall effect joysticks and their touted “anti stick drift” nature but I never considered the other benefits of them. I’ll tell ya what I use this controller as my main controller and I’ve tried my Scuf again and even a default Xbox controller and they feel so ugly now. The hall effects feel so natural and accurate and the windows app to adjust settings is really easy to use as well. I’ve never felt so confident with such a low dead zone. I have mine at 3 and experience no drift at all. I also love the 500 hz mode, I feel like the difference is small but I find myself surprised at how responsive it feels. My only complaints are these:Paddles are very light and positioned where they can be accidentally pressed when tightly gripping the controller. There are no physical trigger stops which was a big change for me coming from the Scuf controller’s mouse click ones. (Hair triggers can still be activated in the software easily)There are no tension screws on the joysticks (only controller I’ve seen with them are the elite series controllers but it’s a feature I’d love to see used more)And the default joysticks are rather bad, but I swapped them out for my Scuf joysticks and that problem was solved. (Just make sure to recalibrate in the software)Overall, don’t let these negatives put you off as they are so incredibly minor in comparison to all the other controllers I’ve used. I’ve used elite series, scuf, default, and razor wolverine. Never have I been so thoroughly infatuated with a controller. Despite my above complaints, which are very minor in the world of pro controllers, this has got to be the best controller I’ve ever used and I just cannot believe it’s only 45$. If somehow this thing ever breaks, I can buy 4 more of these and still won’t have spent as much as I did on my one Scuf controller. This IS the future of controller gaming and I’m so glad I gave it a go.

I love this controller the amount of things you get with it for the price is amazing. The paddles work amazingly they are sensitive but once you get use to them, they can help you a lot in certain games plus you can turn them off for other games which is a great thing for me since I play a lot of other games that don’t really need them. I love the hair triggers as well it’s hard to believe how much of difference it can make in a lot of my games I never turn them off now lol, and the fact the gamesir app is on both Xbox and PC is a huge help since you need to turn features like the hair trigger on I almost avoided the controller since I thought the app was gonna pc only, but I was so happy that I was wrong. The deadzone is also amazing to play with, my movements have been a lot more precise when playing fps games, don’t really notice much of a difference when playing on other genres of games though, again you will need the app to enable it. But here’s where something went wrong, and this 100% my fault as I was being dumb. So I also have kontrol freeks which help with aiming on fps games they were a tight squeeze but I was able to put them on the controller, this is where I was being dumb. The controller also has a removable plate on it, so I decided to open it and see if there was any dust, but I forgot to take the kontrol freeks off and the joysticks came off with the plate, lucky enough I was able to put them back in but I noticed the right analog stick wasn’t working well, it wouldn’t input when pressing down on it and the stick was getting stuck on some parts, I was able to fix it but I noticed I started getting stick drift again which wasn’t a good thing I checked the app and I had the feature turn on, that when I realized that it was probably because I accidentally pull of the analog stick when I opened it, I didn’t make it out to be a big deal as the controller still worked fine just with a little bit of stick drift, so I was OK with it. But a month later the analog stick was doing the same thing where the button inside wouldn’t work and the analog stick would get stuck. So sadly it seems I will have to buy another one unless a miracle happens and it works regularly again, I will say this again it was 100% my fault I should’ve been more careful with it. But anyway overall this is a great controller for the price, it was probably the best purchase I made for my Xbox. Just be careful when using it and be a lot more responsible than me lol.

My Xbox Series controllers keep disconnecting because the cable connection gets loose over time. The only solution is going wireless, but then input lag and missed button presses has become enough of an issue on PC that I started looking for other solutions.I tried the Razer Wolverine Ultimate, and while a great controller on it’s own, it didn’t quite conform to my hands and quite frankly all the extra buttons were overwhelming. Still a great controller, though.Next up, I tried the GameSir G7. I gotta say, this thing is nearly perfect. The joysticks are a joy to use, super smooth, and very responsive. The increased polling rate seems like it may have an effect, or it may just be placebo, but nonetheless, the controller is responsive and feels solid.Macroless programable back buttons are awesome! No software needed! They have a great mouse like click quality, AND you can lock them if you don’t want to use them! Ingenious idea! The D-pad feels like the face buttons, rather than being more of a click on the stock Xbox controllers. Some may not like this. I don’t care either way, but I do think this is overall where the stock controller feels ever slightly better. Not a big deal! The cable uses a channel in the back so that it can’t be wiggled loose over time. Why the stock Xbox controller doesn’t feature this, I don’t know, because it’s been the main point of failure for all my Xbox controllers. The cable here is also very well built, thick, and long (heh). There is absolutely zero play at the connection point thanks to the simple yet elegant channel design. It does use USB-C.My only gripes are the Start/Select button placement. They’re awkward, and I use them a lot for Monster Hunter games and item management. That’s like… the only “bad” thing I can say here. Also, the controller is pretty light. I like my Xbox controllers with batteries in them, even if I’m not using it wirelessly. It just adds some good heft. I think for a next iteration, removeable weights would be great! So overall, I think this controller feels 95% as good as the stock Xbox controller, but it’s features are above what the stock controller provides thus making this a better deal IF it holds over time. For the price, it’s unbeatable and I 110% recommend it!

The GameSir G7 SE looks classy, feels great and performs extremely well. In fact, it might be the best 3rd party controller I’ve tried, and I’ve tried a lot through the years. It feels nice in the hand and works beautifully. The buttons are responsive, and the Hall Effect joysticks feel smooth. I’m also happy that they opted for a more traditional D-Pad. I like it much better than the stiff, clicky D-Pad found on the official Series X/S controller. I play quite a bit of 3D fighters like Tekken 8 and SoulCalibur 6 and this D-Pad is much more comfortable for me. Keep in mind, though, that it’s not a Saturn-style D-Pad designed for 2d fighting games like Street Fighter, KOFXV, etc.So, yes, it’s great, but what put it over the top was the customization app called “Gamesir Nexus” that allows you to create custom profiles. The app itself isn’t outstanding, but I was able to tweak the controller exactly how I wanted it. I decreased the dead zone and increased the polling rate, and it feels incredibly responsive. With my TV in game mode, the Gamesir G7 SE is the quickest responding controller I’ve ever used. You can also switch between 3 custom profiles on the fly.One consideration, though, is that the official Xbox Series X/S controllers are regularly on sale and don’t cost much more than the GameSir G7 SE. They also come in a bunch of neat colors and are wireless. Still, the GameSir’s responsiveness, features, and the D-Pad make it a worthy contender. Happy gaming!

After 2 OEM Xbox Series controllers and a higher-end Razer controller all developed stick drift, I was greatly intrigued when I read about the Hall effect technology in this controller. I don’t think I’m particularly rough on controllers, but they do see a lot of use… So while only time will tell, having a controller with sticks that won’t be as prone to mechanical failure is a huge plus.Packaging was adequately protective yet frill-less and easy to open, which I really appreciate. A code for a free month of Gamepass Ultimate (limited to new subscribers only) and a sticker was also included with the instruction paper, which was nice. The included USBC-to-USB cable is a quality ~10-ft white braided nylon cable that’s plenty long enough for me, but if you’re used to a wireless controller and find the reach a bit too restrictive, you can purchase a USB extension cable to give you even more leeway. The controller itself feels well-made, with buttons that are smoothly ‘clicky’ in the way a well-made mechanical keyboard is, and sticks and triggers that have just the right springy resistance. The extra back buttons are intuitively-placed, programmable via the app, and can be individually locked in place to prevent accidental clicks when you don’t need them.I’m impressed with the software, too; the app seems well-made (and actually prompted a quick firmware update instead of making me search to see if one was available,) and customization was easier compared to Razer’s app.It is also more fully-recognized by my Xbox software-wise, which the Razer wasn’t; I can change all of my headset volume settings from the audio menu just like I could with my OEM controllers (whereas with the other aftermarket controller my Xbox would say I needed to connect a compatible device to access these settings,) and I can assign what the share button does just like you can with the OEM controllers. The one and only quasi-criticism I have is that the “view” and “menu” buttons are located noticeably higher than they are on other controllers, but this is a very minor thing as I’m sure I’ll be used to the new placement fairly quickly. (edit: I did!)Should I run into any issues with this anytime soon, I’ll update the review… But so far I’m really impressed with every aspect of it, especially at this price point, and would recommend anyone needing a new controller to give it a try. Good on ya, Gamesir!

As an avid gamer who has invested in numerous high-end controllers over the years, I’ve been perpetually on the hunt for that perfect blend of quality and value. The Gamesir G7 Controller has surprisingly emerged as a frontrunner in this quest. Priced significantly lower than many of its counterparts, this controller stands out not just for its affordability, but for its remarkable performance. The first aspect that grabbed my attention was the precision of the joysticks. They are impeccably responsive, ensuring that every movement is translated into the game with utmost accuracy. This level of precision is something I have seldom found in other controllers, even those with a heftier price tag. It’s a delight for games that require meticulous control and quick reflexes.Another standout feature is the customizability of the back paddles. The ease of mapping these paddles is a game-changer, especially for players who like to have their controls tailored to their gaming style. It allows for a much more personalized gaming experience, making complex games more intuitive and enjoyable. However, no product is without its flaws. My only gripe with the Gamesir G7 is the absence of rubberized grips. During longer gaming sessions, the lack of this feature becomes noticeable, as the controller could have benefitted from the extra comfort and grip that rubberized handles provide. This isn’t a dealbreaker by any means, as rubberized grips can be purchased separately, but their inclusion would have made for a more complete package. In conclusion, the Gamesir G7 Controller is a remarkable piece of hardware that punches well above its weight class. While it falls just short of the coveted 5-star rating due to the lack of rubberized grips, its precision, customizability, and value for money make it an excellent choice for any gamer looking to upgrade their experience without breaking the bank.

Got this controller mainly to play Apex and it’s been everything I hoped it would be. I had gone through 2 normal Series XIS controllers over the last few years that inevitably got super loose sticks with drift after a while, so wanted to take a chance on something different that’s supposed to resist wearing down. Out of the box the controller feels great, sticks are smooth and responsive and going back to the ones on my old controllers was truly awful. Overall shape is a bit different but got used to it quickly. My one minor gripe is the start/select buttons are in slightly different locations than the normal Xbox controller, so your muscle memory will be off when trying to press them during games (for example that’s how you pull up the map in Apex). The cable it comes with is decently long and good quality, I play on a desk setup so I was fine with it not being wireless. Back buttons seem solid although most of the time I don’t have them active. What really puts this controller over the top is the app, which you can download on the Xbox store so you never have to mess with plugging into a PC. In it you can fine tune how much of a deadzone you want, vibration strength, trigger activation, etc. Most importantly, (and the reason I felt compelled to write this review) as of today 1/22 the app has been updated and you can set the refresh rate of the controller up from the default 250hz to 500hz or even 1,000hz (!), which essentially changes the response time of the controller. I think the response time of a normal Xbox controller is 125hz, so we are talking about an 8x increase in responsiveness and for less money. Insane that this is the case, I honestly have a hard time understanding how they are allowed to do this. There is a tradeoff involved unfortunately which is that to unlock 500/1000hz the headphone jack is disabled, so you will not be able to use a wired headset for audio/gamechat. For me this was fine as I use the official Xbox wireless headset. So yeah, all things considered I see the G7 SE as easily the best bang for your buck Xbox controller on the market right now and perfect for those who mainly play quick-twitch FPS games. Happy to answer any questions in the replies to this review.

I can’t say enough about how great this controller has been to me, even regardless of its price point. The analog sticks and triggers have very smooth linear activation, the hall effect components are worthy of the hype in my opinion. There is no friction in the movement of the analog controls, and the “spring” resistance feels just right for me. The ABXY and d-pad buttons are dome switches, which is just what the Microsoft Xbox controller feels like. The other buttons including the rear buttons are micro switches. If you’re not sure what that is, they’re somewhat like a mouse click but take a bit more force to activate than a mouse (too little resistance in the switch would be bad, and these feel good.) The tops of the sticks are not concave like the Xbox controller, which has a different feel, but not one that bothers me or impacts performance personally. The analog triggers have a more aggressive anti-slip texture to them than the Xbox controller. The size and overall feel of the controller otherwise feels just like the Xbox controller to me. The weight of the controller feels perfectly acceptable, its definitely lighter than the wireless Xbox controller with batteries in it, but also not as light as an empty one. I have no complaints, it doesn’t feel cheap. The cable that comes with this is really high quality. It’s covered in braided material but not overly rigid. The molded heads on both ends are very thick and strong, and the USB-C end that fits into the controller is very secure – I don’t really have any concerns about it wiggling around or breaking the connector by dropping it on the cord or something. The controller has lots of features that standard Xbox controllers don’t. I found that game support for the bottom buttons is not really as good as I thought it would be – some games just don’t register the input. Everything else works as expected. There’s an added “M” key that works like a function key, unlocking some on-the-fly adjustments. If you install the GameSir Nexus app in windows you can set up to three profiles that are saved directly to the controller (not the PC). You can use the M key and the ABXY’s to switch between the controller’s defaults, and your three stored profiles. If you’re using the headset jack on the controller, there’s a handy mic mute button next to the 3.5mm jack, and you can use the M-key in combination with the d-pad to control the overall volume of your headset, and the voice to game volume ratio (to an extent). The profiles let you change things like button mappings, deadzones, and vibration. So far, it would seem you can only re-map buttons that are internal to the controller – there’s no way to assign keyboard shortcuts to the buttons for instance. The one thing I found this useful for is to re-map the stick button clicks to the rear buttons, which I find useful because trying to trigger the stick switch while aiming/steering/looking/whatever usually causes me a non-zero amount of grief.Using the Nexus app for windows you can also test your inputs, view the analog stick values and real-time movement, calibrate the analog controls, and update the firmware. They recently published a firmware update (v6.28) that allows you to increase the polling rate from the default 250 to 500 and 1000hz (effectively 4ms, 2ms, and 1ms control response), like you can with the Razer accessories I have. Unfortunately the 500 and 1000hz polling settings still come with a “work in progress” warning and cause some issues. You cannot, for instance, use the headset jack with the higher polling rates. Also when I turn the polling rate up, it starts to generate some odd input “spasms”. My right stick randomly whips a 180, and sometimes my left and right triggers activate for no apparent reason. Everything goes back to normal with the default polling rate though. Eventually they’ll fix this, I’m sure. It’s not a deal breaker for me in any event, as I really can’t tell the difference between 4ms and 1ms.The front top plate is magnetically affixed and stays securely in place. Other than the obvious cosmetic implications, cleaning is the only practical reason I can think to have a removable top plate. There seems to be anti-friction rings around the analog sticks, maybe if those wore out one day it could be a meaningful replacement, but I predict that replacement face plates would be long out of stock before I would need to replace those.

Well made, Hall Effect sticks, extra buttons on back! You can download their software to fine tune the sticks and program the buttons, but its easy to program the buttons on- the-fly too.The bottom middle finger buttons can be locked “off” with slider switches if needed. (I’ve found that in some games, they can sometimes get in the way, and I accidentally hit one, usually at the worst time! 😅).One feature I like is the built-in headphone control. You can Mute the mic, increase/ decrease the volume, directly from the controller, using their Mode button and the + pad. (The Mute mic button is next to the headphone jack). For the game artists of there, the top of the controller is attached with magnets, and comes off fairly easy. It can be painted, add graphics, etc, AND you can buy additional ones to customize. It comes with a good quality 10′ USB to USB-C cord, that has a woven jacket around the wires.Coming from a wireless controller, I thought getting used to a wired one might be an issue… well it wasn’t difficult at all, and the additional features are well worth the minor trade-off. NOTE: if your game system is farther than 10′, get a USB extender cord! I needed about 2′ more.

The overall design is nice, and the feel of everything is professional.-the home button is glossed over like the face buttons on normal controllers, which I prefer because the Home button on normal controllers can peel or be scraped and don’t feel as nice to the touch. It also doesn’t light up, and instead has a small white light above it for the power indicator. I actually find this important as a bright light on the Xbox controllers can be distracting.-the shape is mostly similar to the normal Series controller, I don’t personally have a Series controller anymore so I’m not sure the difference. Compared to an Xbox One and One S controller it’s far superior. Smaller and more comfortable design with buttons that feel nice.-the Directional Pad is membrane, meaning it has softer presses, and the Pad itself isn’t the glossy material a normal controller has. I prefer this one over any D-Pad I e used before since it’s quiet, softer to press, and isn’t glossy/slippery.-the cord included is very long and is braided, I don’t see this cable ever getting damaged. However if it did eventually get damaged, it can be removed and replaced.-the joysticks don’t feel any different than a normal controller except that it doesn’t grind against the edges, it feels nice and smooth while circling it around. Knowing it won’t likely fet stick drift over time is a huge plus and is ultimately why I bought this controller.-it connects very easily and works straight out of the box, I haven’t needed to use their app on either Xbox Series X or PC to fix anything or adjust anything.-it’s very easy to remap the rear buttons unique to this controller using only the controller. It’s also quick to switch between custom profiles and the default configuration, it can be done in just a couple seconds.-the rumble is good, but seems to be a little noisy when using the triggers during the vibration. This is where I removed a star.-the grip is very nice, even though it isn’t rubber it still feels nice and comfortable.-the triggers feel really good to pull, doesn’t feel mushy when pressed all the way like the Xbox One controllers do a little.-very light, especially due to not using batteries as this is a wired controller.

I’ve spent hundreds, if not a thousand or so, of dollars on controllers over the years in my search for the perfect one. I thought I found it with the original Xbox Elite controller, which I sold off when the white version was released. For a year, that controller was my weapon of choice until the left joystick started to drift. I had it shipped off, hoping it could be fixed, but it was even worse when it was returned. Since then, I have had the worst luck with Elite controllers that either had drift right out of the box or buttons that needed to be pressed dead-center in order to work.Eventually, I gave up on the Elite controller and put gamepads from various other companies to the test. I bought a PowerA controller and several Razers. Buying extended warranties became a habit — I normally don’t purchase them, but controllers have limited 90-day to one-year warranties that don’t cover enough of a controller’s lifespan.Part of the problem is that modern-day controllers use potentiometers to determine how far or fast you move your joystick. Over time, the friction from components sliding over and under each other wears out until the tension holding your joystick at the zero-point becomes imbalanced. That causes stick drift — your joystick is pushed or pulled away from the center.Hall effect sensors, which use magnets to detect the position of joysticks and triggers, will never drift — in theory. Because the parts don’t rub against each other, Hall effect sensors last a lot longer than your average gamepad that will eventually succumb to drift. I’ve used the GameSir G7 SE Wired Controller for a few weeks now, and it’s been a great controller at a lower price-point than Microsoft’s own standard controller. The controller has a build quality that feels similar to the standard controller with a sturdy plastic shell that doesn’t feel cheap. The triggers were a little too sensitive out of the box, but after tuning them with the app and getting used to how much further they seem to stick out — they’re a little more pronounced, like upside down claws — I haven’t had any issues with them. The buttons feel fine without any mushiness or dead spots, and the sticks actually seem to be more accurate even with small nudges because you’re not fighting the friction of the potentiometer. There are some features to the controller, like the buttons in the back, an app that lets you change a few settings, and some on-the-fly key presses you can do to change configurations that lift the value of the controller at its current price. I wish there were physical trigger locks, though the app allows for hair-trigger presses. I would advise that you immediately download and use the app before you game in order to calibrate the controller and set it up to your liking.

After testing numerous controllers for MLB the Show, this one is by far the best (for Xbox, at least). The sticks are incredibly accurate after calibration, and the software is game-changing. I was having an issue in MLB the Show where I would accidentally lightly tap my right trigger while swinging with A, causing a baserunner to stop in their tracks. So I went into the software, changed the trigger to require a deeper press to activate, and boom, problem solved! One thing to note, and it’s not so much a negative as it is an adjustment: while the sticks do feel amazing, they are very loose. I’m a big fan of loose sticks (I have my Elite Series 2 on the loosest setting), but these are a bit too loose in my opinion and require some adjustment. I tried this in Fortnite, and my aim was slightly off; it didn’t feel nearly as good as with the Elite Series 2. I’m sure it’s an adjustment, or maybe I just need to adjust my sensitivity settings in game, but it’s something to note. I was also struggling in MLB the Show, but when I coupled this controller with a CQC Kontrol Freek on the left stick and the green, soft Kontrol Freek Precision ring, it became the best possible controller for MLB the Show. One other note about the sticks – they are “Hall effect” sticks, and supposedly never develop stick drift. That said, out of the box the deadzones are automatically set to “10” in the software. I saw people suggesting that you turn the deadzones off completely – but don’t do that. Having a deadzone of 0 wasn’t “snapping” my sticks fully back to center once released. 4 seemed to mostly do the trick, but I put mine on 5 to be safe – and have had no problems. And lastly, the back buttons are easy to map and feel great. The ability to lock them as well is also a nice touch, as I don’t use them in every game. All in all, at $44, this controller offers the most value for the money of anything I’ve purchased all year. Well done, GameSir. Well done.

First off, the Hall Effect thumbsticks are great. Yes they are much less likely to get stick drift, but beyond that they can also have smaller deadzones and just feel smoother to use overall. Cannot recommend highly enough. The experience is like first switching to a mechanical keyboard, the different may be subtle when you first switch. However, once you have played with them for a couple days then try to go back to regular potentiometer thumbsticks.. its just really gross. The rear buttons are easy to map via the controller directly or the Nexus software. They are also perfectly placed (for my grip anyway) to be easy to press when i want to, but not get accidentally pressed when i’m clenching in a firefight. The software while a little clunky, is easy enough to use. I have used it on PC and Xbox with no issues. Once you update the firmware, make sure you go through the calibration process it prompts you to do! Don’t skip it. I recommend setting the deadzones of the sticks to 0. Most games have a built in deadzone already, they don’t need one coming from the controller and many let you customize it in-game.A couple things to note:1. If you are using this to play shooters and use the left trigger to zoom, leave the deadzone where it is and the “Hair Trigger” option OFF. With hair trigger on, it will occasionally zoom out while you have the trigger pressed for some reason. Just leave that setting off and its fine.2. The “Raw” setting for the thumbsticks doesn’t seem to do… anything at all. I think this is because most games already fake circularity via their coding, so any extra range you get in the corners by turning raw mode on gets clipped by the games anyway.Yes this doesn’t have the switches for face buttons that the regular version of this controller has, but honestly that is a more than fair tradeoff for the obviously superior (ie more expensive) thumbsticks. Of the 4 different budget options i have tried (Razer wolverine v2, Turtle beach recon and reactr, and a DIY customized standard Xbox controller) that have back buttons, this controller is the EASY winner.

First off i just want to say that this controller has ZERO stick drift, i tested it out on multiple game with no dead zone and had no stick drift, so thats very nice. the only thing i dont like about this controller is how all the inputs are soft, all the buttons are mushy and not clicky at all, like they are on my previous controller the turtle recon. the buttons on the back are almost flush with the controller and have no texture at all making it hard to push them or know if i even pushed it at all. on the turtle recon the buttons are clicky and responsive, and since the gamesir buttons are mushy it makes movement in game feel sluggish. it basically feels like the classic controller that comes with you xbox, so if you like that controller you’ll likely like this one.

I wanted to try a controller with back buttons (specifically for AC6) and there are several around $50. What sets this one apart are the hall triggers and sticks (se version only). They are fantastic! I’m looking forward to no more stick drift. The onboard volume and mic controls are useful and easy to adjust. The app works great on Xbox. While I wish there were more profiles, 3 will suffice. Buttons are smooth and clicky but not too loud. Really my only small complaint is the location of the menu and view buttons. They are higher than a regular xbox controller so I will take some time for my muscle memory to adapt. I’d like to see more colors of faceplates as they switch so effortlessly. If Gamesir would make a wireless version or one with 4 back buttons I’d happily buy more!

Edit: I did hear back from customer support. The code only works for new subscribers. I had to pull out a magnifying lens to read that stipulation on the card containing the code (getting old sucks), but it is there. Updating my review accordingly.I love the controller. More on that later. However, the gamepass ultimate code that they give does not work if you already have a gpu subscription. So if you are taking into account the 1 month gpu code that they advertise in the overall price and already have/had a gpu description. Don’t. I bought it over a week ago. The code did not work. I contacted support (which took over a week for them to get back to me b/c they happened to go on vacation the week that I received the controller) and they confirmed that the code only works if you are new subscriber and I am currently subscribed. In regards to the controller. It’s 4.5 out 5 stars. even before taking into consideration the hall effect sticks (which I’m hoping it will last a good while…which is the primary reason why I bought this as the last two controllers I had developed stick drift pretty quickly). The sticks are great and I actually like the d-pad and ABXY buttons that are membrane and not tactile. but, you’re mileage may vary on that. The stop/pause/menu placement is…lacking, although I think I can see the reason for it (increase distance from other buttons to stop mis-hitting other buttons). The pause button (three perpendicular horizontal lines) is easy to get used to for me. The menu button (overlapping rectangles) is impossible to get used to because of its placement in proximity to the left analog stick. Reaching it over that stick is not a natural motion to access it, but honestly not that big of a deal so far for the games that I’ve been playing, but not a great placement nonetheless. I honestly would be happy to pay the $45 for the controller outright, but if you are advertising a gpu code, then you should honor it. Software is good (installed, linked and calibrated on my console). Have the mappable rear buttons is also great and work fine (I map them to left and right on the d-pad). All in all, i like the controller so far. Wish they would have said that the code only works for new subscribers up front. I still think the controller is a good value even without that code, but obviously it would be a much better value had the code worked.

I will not go back to any other type of controller. I have a few Microsoft controllers, and I do especially feel stick drift while playing Forza Motorsport. You need to have a quiet hand while setting consistent lap times.Stick drift is so subtle that you are not aware that it is happening. But if you have a quiet hand on the controller, then you will perceive the difference.I really like that it is wired (a lot less latency, and no interference) and comes with a long sturdy cable. My cats naw on these cables all night long. No wear at all.My only complaint about these controllers is the annoying buzz from the left and right triggers. It’s any easy fix. Just put something at the bottom of the triggers to dampen the buzz.I like how light they are too. They are stiffer than my Microsoft controllers. The MS ones sometimes creek. These don’t. So they are lighter, stiffer, stronger, as well as customizable.

No stick drift but sticky triggers. Setting up in the software it was going up to 25 all by itself. I’ll play with it for the weekend and see if it fixes itself with use. If not I’ll be returning. Using it on Xbox so wish there was an app. Controller feels cheap, going from an elite 2 over the past 1.5 years I have been spoiled.EDIT: So I got my second one today, was working well, then i updated it, same issues as before a connection issue occurs. Come to find out after the update you have to calibrate it with some button presses. Didnt see that anywhere until I downloaded discord and decided to look in there. Many others with the same issue and it works after. Just annoying that we had to look to discord to fix it.

I bought this GameSir G7 SE controller for my teenage son who is an avid Xbox and PC gamer. He has put it through some intense gaming marathons and says it performs even better than premium wireless controllers! The tactile buttons and textured thumbsticks allow smooth, precise control during fast-paced gaming. The ergonomic shape fits comfortably in his hands without causing fatigue after long sessions. My son also loves that this wired controller eliminates lag, interference and battery issues he’s experienced with wireless ones. The 10ft braided cable gives him plenty of room to get into ideal gaming position. For Xbox or PC gamers looking for a high-quality, wired controller that can withstand serious gaming, the GameSir G7 SE is easily worth the investment. My son says it has improved his performance and made long gaming sessions more comfortable and enjoyable. This durable controller can clearly handle intense action!

For reference I have owned both the elite v1 and v2 controllers from Microsoft, both of which started to die on me in a short period of time, as well as the Razor and the Power A chroma. This controller is by far the most comfortable and best value for the money. The hall effect sticks feel very accurate and I love that I can use the software to dial in sensitivity, etc. over several profiles. (Have one just for Call of Duty) At this point I also cannot live without extra buttons on the back of the controller and these are well placed for easy access. The icing on the cake is the one month of game pass that significantly discounts the already reasonable price for this controller. And yes, it works with existing subscriptions. I will say the controller feels a bit smaller than average which is fine for me as I have small hands but anyone with giant mitts might want to look elsewhere. That elsewhere is the Power A controller, which has basically the same body as the standard xbox controller.

Took a while to get used to using a wired controller again but the weight feels perfect and it’s nice not having to rely on batteries. The triggers and sticks feel great, the d-pad and programmable buttons on the back are probably the best part. Setup for profiles can be done on the console and swapping can be done with a simple two button combo. I would try out the hair triggers before using them, after playing a couple games of CoD I can say you probably don’t want it on LT or you’ll drop aim routinely. The only downfall is the fat end of the joysticks are slightly larger than the standard controller so if you use/prefer grips that go over top they’re not going to fit.

The hall effect sticks are great! The software allows you to adjust a lot of settings! What you get for the price is definitely well worth it! You make get a few more features and two more buttons with the more premium controllers (elite/scuf) but you’re paying a hefty amount more! Performance overall has been top-notch! Before, I primarily used OG wireless Xbox One controllers and I can say you can definitely notice the input lag difference between a wired controller right off the bat. This is basically the first wired only controller I’ve used but snappiness of response was noticeable immediately, even before adjusting dead zones tighter than default settings.

I don’t really understand all the hype around this controller. It feels pretty generic in my hands. The joysticks are fine but they aren’t game changing. They don’t feel more responsive than the stock series X controllers. The buttons are mushy and I don’t like them honestly. The triggers are fine. The vibration motors are kind of weak in this controller. I like some feedback when playing my games and the rumble motors in this controller are weak. Surprising considering it’s a wires controller. I don’t know, the control is cheap enough that I can’t complain too much, but I wouldn’t buy it again. I bought it to play rocket league because I need a fast responsive controller for that game and I wasn’t too impressed. Should you buy it? Upto you. If you like the design and want a wired controller. Sure. I’d recommend a stock Series X controller over this though.

It was awesome 0 on x a y on both sticks it also has a Xbox app to customize it I just would of liked if they had a all black controller option of the g7 se and that they could have 4 paddles also if it could of been a wireless option 😁

Love this controller, I haven’t put it down since I got it. Joysticks feel great. The only 2 issues I have are1. If you need an extra cable (I.e. me because I am always taking my controller with me to play on my laptop and I don’t want to keep getting behind my PC to unplug it) good luck finding one. The usb c opening is recessed into the controller. While I normally like this for cable security, they have made the opening just a bit too small. I have only found one cable (by accident) that I already had that will fit, unfortunately it’s c to c and shirt. I ordered 2 usb c cables that looked similar in size to the original, but they don’t fit either. They don’t seek cables on their website either.2. The “paddles” or rear buttons. They are fine, but why are we giving paddle locks and not trigger locks to have a shorter pull. The appeal of a trigger lock is going to benefit more people than a paddle lock that makes them unusable on purpose. If neither of those things bother you, controller is perfect. Btw, it is compatible with ps4/ps5 thumb grips (I.e. kontrol freek).

This control absolutely blew me away! After getting stick drift on most of my controllers within weeks this one completely solves that problem with Hall effect sticks. The buttons are solid and clicky not soft and squishy. The programmable buttons are placed well and I don’t accidentally hit them but if I do doesn’t matter they have locks just in case!!! It fits well in my hands compared to a PlayStation controller or series x. Compatible with all my games on pc I play controller with. The software it has is very user friendly. 10/10 would recommend and have! The whole squad runs the G7 it’s so worth it!!!!!!

I saw all these glowing reviews about this controller and had to try it. There are some pros and cons but at the end of the day I returned it.Pros:Price is great for Hall effect sticks and good quality face buttonsIt looks really niceBack buttons are very well placedLove the feature of locking back buttons. Super underrated.Cons:The texture of the triggers is scratchy and uncomfortableThe back buttons get stuck here and thereThe triggers are squeaky. This was the deal breaker for me as it drove me insane. The controller works great so if you don’t care about the things on my con list, then go for it! It still functions amazingly well which is why I still give it 4/5. I just couldn’t deal with the noise of the triggers and that awful texture.
