Easy to use just download the app, plug the device turn on the engine and follow the easy steps on your phone. You can even clear the check engine light if it’s nothing major. Comes in handy would highly recommend to buy and keep in your glove compartment.

The FIXD bluetooth OBD2 scanner is a really great idea for people who want to have a bit of an idea about what is happening with their vehicle ahead of a mechanic visit. Presenting the data on your phone in an easy to understand way is great. My first scanner came with a book that you had to look up your code, then read the description, then go to the internet for the explanation. This is so much simpler. I think this is a must have for everyone.

I used to have a 2008 ram 1500 and service lights would pop up randomly. I came on here just to see how much OBD2 scanners ran and found this. It’s super easy to use and so is the app. I love how small it is because it’s easy to store. It pops up the code and what the code could be. Pretty straight forward. It was pretty accurate every time I used it. I still have it but haven’t had to use it yet with my newer truck. It was well worth the money in my opinion.

We love this product. When things were going wrong with our drive train, it brought up the correct code. Even though we deal with a great car dealership, they tried to poo-poo this handy, dandy little unit. But their big sophisticated equipment came up with the exact same reading, and when they test drove the car, they found out that indeed we needed a new transmission. So they purchased a rebuilt kit and fixed the car. But only after we saw the exact same reading on our FIXD before they did so on their reader. This is definitely an awesomely amazing product. If you don’t have one, you need it so that you don’t get hammered or scammered on car repair. Our Journey runs like a champ now.

Works well except in my case. I made a mistake and added too much injector cleaner in my 36 gallon van gas tank. My emissions sensors are all showing red and it runs rough and engine light pops on which is easily reset with fixd. This also causes misfires and excess gas consumption. The mechanic advice fro fixd is good and it seems I need to use up the gas and hope new fuel will clear up the emission sensors problems. So I need to use up 30 plus gallons in a motor not running well and possibly do a tune up.Fixed allows me to see if that works and reset as needed.

I love this thing so much, I now gift it to everyone I know! I got this as a Christmas present from my dad years ago and it has helped me so much with figuring out what is wrong with my car. It also gives you estimates on what it costs to fix, if it’s really that serious AND what happens if you don’t get it fixed right away! SO helpful when you aren’t sure if you can afford an expensive repair at the moment. I always travel with this thing even if I’m not in my own car and traveling with girlfriends in case the worst happens. HIGHLY recommend and 1,000% worth the money!

  7. Howard Geiger

I like the product it works fine however I don’t like the fact that I go out and I buy the product and then I’m told that if you want this to be done or this to be done or this to be done, you have to pay an extra amount of money for it, which I think is a pile of poop. I bought the product. I shouldn’t have to pay extra to get things that I bought the product to help me find out.

  8. Morgan

Very easy to install, the worst part is trying to find your vehicle’s OBD port. I was able to use it on my vehicle as well as my parents’ cars and immediately found the issue with a detailed description of the problem. It definitely saves time and money, since you can tell your mechanic the error code and they’ll know what to fix instead of wasting a day trying to diagnos the problem.

  9. Herman D.

Love this device and very affordable. Very accurate on what’s wrong and detailed on how fix your auto

  10. Alan R.

Simple to use, diagnosed the problem, the problem was fixed, and the check engine light was cleared. If you own multiple vehicles you’ll only need one FIXD.

  11. AHNA BAXTER

The FIXD Bluetooth OBD2 Scanner for Car is a game-changer for vehicle maintenance! With its easy setup and intuitive app interface, diagnosing engine issues has never been simpler. I love how it provides real-time data on my phone, informing me about my car’s health and potential problems. It’s a must-have tool for any car owner looking to save time and money on repairs!

    AHNA BAXTER

  12. Melonie

This tool is useful it doesn’t really do anything major and it definitely doesn’t read the codes in your car computer I have a BMW. I don’t know what I was thinking, but it did successfully clear codes on it comes with a subscription that gives you suggestions based on your car but these are very generic suggestions so The subscription wasn’t really worth it. I did the free trial otherwise it did what it was supposed to do.

  13. Kevin P Rosenbach

Awesome product. I waited till I used it. I kept having an engine light go on, sometimes a warning with it. My vehicle has an onboard screen, a mobile app, and sends me email, but nothing would show up why 90% of the time, and when it did, was nit specific enough. I bought a different auto diagnostic computer first that is similar to what the dealership uses. It was better, but not that great. Four years and spending $30,000 in unnecessary repairs. I decided to try this. Great reviews. Fixd was easy to set up and use. It was spot on perfect in its diagnosis. Glow points were bad! What the hell is that LOL. Then a certified mechanic calls you, who is trained in your brand and make model vehicle. Explains in detail what is wrong and what you need. And then emailed the pages from that vehicles repair manual, along with your report of what is wrong, to take to the dealer. Amazing. The best investment ever for you vehicle. Never get a car repair without using this first. And it’s very affordable.

It works very well, but definitely the software needs better integration, and easier understanding overall.

  15. Me

It works well. However unless you pay for yearly subscription it is limited on what it does. It tells you the problem but doesn’t tell you how to fix it or what it is causing issue

I was skeptical. But I bought it.It was super easy.Download appStick in port under steering wheelScanIt told me what the problem was (it was super minor) AND allowed me to clear the check engine light myself. FROM MY PHONE!!!Saved me a $250 trip to the mechanic. And I can use it over and over again on multiple cars. Heck I’ll let my friends use it

App Instructions are great. Easy to operate. Repair consultation at ones fingertips. Saves me so much money on my car repairs. The app allowed me to reset the codes to complete my recent smog and registration. NOTE: be sure to drive your car (30miles 80% hwy 20% street) to for the driving analysis to re establish data need for smog tests after resetting your codes. Oh and the In app reoccurring purchase $99 per year AI Mechanic is worth it if you have multiple vehicles. Amazing tool🙌Bravo!

  19. Christopher Phillips

With my car going up on the mileage, I bought this for any issues that may come around. I recently had a check engine light come on and I was able to get the information from the FIXD scanner as to why the light came on. I was able to get my car to the shop to get looked at and now no check engine light. For anyone looking if this a good buy or not, I highly recommend FIXD, your able to get the information you need right from your phone after scanning. You also are able to keep up with maintenance. Just knowing you have this tool, you’ll know what needs to be fixed and even get an estimate before hand rather then spending an arm and a leg wondering if the problem was solved or not.

    Christopher Phillips

  20. Jeffrey Hanson

Device works flawlessly. App interface is easy to use and powerful. I was able to diagnose and resolve the issue, as well as reset the check engine light, in just a few easy steps. Can’t recommend highly enough!

The good: Installation was very easy. However, linking via bluetooth to your smartphone involves getting a confirmation code via email. The bad:1. I have now read in other reviews that this thing needs internet access (through your cell’s data connection) to function. That means if you’re stuck on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere with no cell signal (or no data), then you’re on your own. This thing isn’t going to help you.2. The dongle is a bit long, so if your OBD2 port points downwards, this might not be the most compact fit. You’ll see it sticking out from under your dash.3. I’ve now read in another review that this thing can interfere with the car’s smart key fob. Indeed, when we had this thing plugged in, the pushbutton ignition had trouble communicating with the key fob.4. IN-APP PURCHASES absolutely dominate the application. Easily 80% of everything you see in the application is promoting a subscriber-based premium service. The other 20% is pretty easily lost. So I deduct at least a star for the annoyance factor. Also much of the orientation of the app seems to be towards directing you towards a mechanic and knowing how to talk intelligently with the mechanic about what is wrong with your car. This is great for someone who doesn’t know anything about cars. But if you’re like me (and I imagine I am typical of 90% of the market of this device), you already know about cars, and all this stuff is just more annoyance. Truly, what you want to see gets completely lost.5. Oil pressure: Fair warning: The vast majority of cars don’t have OBD2 data about oil pressure (or oil temperature). It’s no fault of this device, but just know that these data are likely not viewable.6. THOUSANDS of promised readable parameters turn out to be much, much fewer. Maybe a hundred? Maybe less?7. I selected this specific device because a review I read said that it would read odometer data and remind you of needed service (e.g. oil changes). In fact it will let you enter the odometer reading of your last oil change. Then if you are curious whether you are due for an oil change, you can enter the current odometer reading, and it will calculate for you. (I think I’m good enough at math to figure that one out for myself – with much less effort.)8. A review I read promised that this thing can read transmission and airbag codes. It cannot.9. There are much cheaper dongles that will do essentially the same thing, with interfaces that don’t demand an internet connection and applications that are far less annoying. Moreover, many of these dongles work with multiple applications available in the Google and Apple apps stores – some free, some for purchase.I really wanted OBD data to stream to my cellphone and to result in push notifications if any parameters went out of range (e.g. temp) or if the oil needed changing. This should be an easy thing to program, but for some reason it seems not to be available in any application I can find for a dongle.I solved this need, I THINK, with a hardwired Lufi XS OBD2 gauge display that I’ve placed on order. It supports alarms, and it is GPS capable. Because of the GPS capability, it can track distance traveled and serve as an editable odometer. I should therefore be able to reset the GPS odometer with every oil change to keep track of service intervals. That frees up the vehicle’s real odometer for ordinary use. (I wish my car just had an oil reminder light. It would be so much easier.)

Well, first of all, it did come on when I plugged it in. And I did download the app. Thats the ONLY reason I rated it so high as 3 star. Otherwise..NAAA! It wasn’t very helpful AT ALL! Except for trying to sell you things. I’m DO know a bit little bit about cars. My Dad taught me right. But cars nowadays you cant even open the hood. Too much junk under there anymore. SOO much electronics. So, I purchased it in just to see if would break down the codes for me. (I already currently own a regular OBD II but I thought I’d try it out. It worked just like my original) BUT, the FIRST thing they hit me up with as an option to buy a $99.00 PREMIUM UPGRADE. **SEVERAL TIMES** before it would tell me anything. So I guess THAT UPGRADE MAY have told me what is wrong with the car and how much it would cost to get it repaired except just giving me the codes as a regular reader already does. I was pretty upset with having to purchase something else to get it to work like it was “expected” too. I’ll stick with my old one and just look up the codes. By doing that I can research the issue better anyway. If you need a mechanic go on your local 411s, friends and family and you should be able to find a mechanic that you like and can trust. There are also a bunch of websites and videos online to help troubleshoot almost anything WITHOUT a $99 additional fee. I was just surprised that it was going to cost equal to or even more than a REAL mechanic would charge to hook it up to their $10,000 diagnostic machines. ANY OBD II will be good for general info. WITHOUT MORE FEES!!

This works well for reading and clearing trouble codes. My only complaint is that it only gave me four PID’s in live data. That might be because my truck is so old, maybe a newer car would have more data available. All in all I’m happy with the purchase and I would recommend this product to others.

Easy to use. Need internet access for it to function. You can add lots more functions than I have. I only used the basic features.

After unpacking and downloading the app, I plugged it into my vehicle and the process began. FIXD was ready to get my car fixed!!! The instructions are very easy to follow. This FIXD product/tool is a vehicle owners dream. The information that’s offered, the assistance and help that is recommended is phenominal!!! Eye appealing auto details that are extremely comprehensive!Worth getting the optional annual subsciption.FIXD is a straight forward deep scanning auto tool that gave me results in a flash!

Love this scanner. Bought my mom and daughter 1 too for their cars. I always pre-scan before going to a mechanic and compare the codes so I don’t get taken advantage of as a woman. Codes always match. Also can notify you by email of maintenance schedule if you put in oil change info and I literally just got an email this morn about a recall on my vehicle that even the jeep manufacturers didn’t inform me about.

  27. MJFoxfan

I got this right after my service engine light came on. I was able to diagnose the problem and tell the mechanic what’s wrong. They didn’t listen to me, but that’s another story. I got the car fixed and feel better about driving the car now. Not worried about the cost, because the app tells me everything.

  28. Duane C

I’ve used it on my car twice already and it really gives me peace of mind knowing what’s going on immediately when the check engine light turns on. After you get the info, I ❤️ the feature that allows me to turn off the check engine light right from the app! Kudos Fixd!

  29. Linda M. Au

I bought this when my Check Engine light wouldn’t go off and I was coming up on my yearly car inspection. I wanted to go into the inspection knowing not only what was wrong but what it might cost me.The FIXD device was easy to use and the app on the phone was also easy to install and use. It accurately pinpointed the problem and gave me a solid estimate for the repairs (I did purchase the yearly subscription in order to get as much info as possible). The inspection went as I had expected, and I appreciated not having a surprise repair when I got there.

Great product. Easy to use. Bluetooth connectivity is perfect. Too much emphasis on upgrading. Data and code evaluating is good. But doesn’t show you the diagnostics. Not what I expected. Could be better.

  31. Dimitrios S. Stephanakis

I like that it gives you a fast short diagnostic answer. What I don’t much like is that I have to pay additional fees to get details and a clear indication of the fixing process.

  32. Dyami Rodriguez

I love using this to diagnose my cars, it was completely plug and play with this device and it told me everything down to price and where to get it done. Though you do need a subscription to see price and things like that, it does not skimp out on telling you what is actually wrong so don’t think it hides behind a paywall. It only takes 2 minutes to google what is wrong with the car and repair price. I did like that the agent support on the app was very helpful in telling me about plans and even telling me about what was wrong with my cars. I would definitely buy again but with this small device you can have MULTIPLE cars on the same app so multiple devices will not be needed! You’re also able to clear check engine lights with it! For the price point, it is SOLID in what it offers!

Yet another company who chooses to use manipulative psychologic sales strategies to sell you a subscription that you feel is needed to make this product “worthwhile”Although they are truthfully selling a subscription service more-so then a device that actually does everything they promise, it does come with some fairly standard functions that you’ll be able to use. However, if you vehicle does not support a reading or measurement that is available within the device’s capabilities you simply cannot use it. This is mostly frustrating because i believe the price is mostly for the app you HAVE to download to even use to even access the features of this device, and without a subscription you get left with not much functionality. So to sum it up, you risk getting your data sold from an app you have to download to even have access to the devices features, have to make the initial purchase of the device itself to even use the app, but also get forced into the mindset of needing a subscription so that you can truly use the device for whats it capable of. AND probably the most upsetting aspect about of all it is that the subscription is (as of writing this review) 12.99 monthly or 99.99 yearly, 100 DOLLARS. IF you do buy this, you must understand that it will be costly to have all features available to you.I do not like being negative in life, or try to come across as a bad person due to speaking how i feel even if it seems of poor taste or stature, so something good thar i can say about all of it is that at least you have an app to look at instead of a standalone screen part of the reader, also the feature to have measurements active within the app to look at temps, RPM, or whatever you choose to display.

I’ve been a User/Owner of a Wired OBD II Unit for several years now & to be honest, I’m not sure why I didn’t make the switch sooner! Don’t get me wrong…. I’m not throwing my wired scanner in the trash or anything, but it’s MUCH MORE CONVENIENT to be able to run a scan once I’m in a location where I can safely park, (nowhere near traffic), & operate the FIX’D App to diagnose a check engine light appearance. I also love the ability to keep track of upcoming maintenance events which are mileage based & are the manufacturers recommendations for the specific vehicle that I’ve confirmed with the scanner, is one of the specific vehicles that I own and have scanned previously. Not to mention the ease of selecting a “thrown code” to read relevant information about it, watch a YouTube video that explains what it means, what the possible causes were, how to fix it along with the cost breakdown of the repair, & even the convenience of searching for a certified mechanic nearby to contact in order to schedule the repair(s)….. AND MUCH MORE (BELIEVE IT OR NOT)! There’s no need to buy multiple units, even though I can honestly understand the convenience! ANYWAYS, I’ve said way more than planned. I RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT A MILLION TIMES OVER ANY KNOCK OFF! Oh ya, lastly the only downside is some features require a $99/yr (or other cheaper tiers of subscriptions) subscription to the Premium Service, which I did purchase btw! Be Safe Out There!

This is a very good diagnostic tool for under $50. I have used this code reader for three years. However, now there are full diagnostic OBD readers that that link to your phone or tablet. Diagnostic readers that rival the $5000 professional code readers. One thing to know is that do NOT leave these plugged into the OBD port. These are tools to be used while the car is not moving.I have learned from several mechanics that nothing should remain plugged into the OBD port while you are driving the car. It will send erroneous signals to your car’s computer.

  36. Raymond Irizarry

It’s great….what they fail to mention is the annual $100.00 charge for detailed reports and other “Premium” features. Unless you’re side hussle is as a mechanic that’s too much but what upset me more is The 7 day “Free” trial period. I gave it a shot and canceled an hour later (so I wouldn’t forget to cancel it on the 7th day.) Well they canceled the premium service right away….excuse me didn’t I still have 6 more days of the free trial period????Buyer-be-ware.

Driving on the highway, getting ready to go to the Barnes and Noble so the family can check out the books while I work. The car started…feeling funny as I was driving…then it starts shaking…the engine light comes on…ON THE HIGHWAY…so I immediately change course to head home. It was too late to go to the mechanic, as it was a Friday evening (thank heavens!). So we made it home and I made the jump and ordered this. Compared to the $150 the mechanic would charge just to assess the problem, this was a no brainer.I set up the app and connected to the device when it arrived. Ran the device and P0302 came up. Then the app explained what it was, it’s severity and possible causes for the problem and how to solve the problem. The app said it could be done at home. Bought the new starter pluge and Ignition coils. Swapped everything out. Cost around $500 in supplies, plus $150 in mechanic labor (we had a friend recommend a trusted mechanic) and we did it together.Had I gone to the mechanics shop, would have probably paid around $1,000. I enjoyed doing it WITH our personal mechanic because he explained everything, and I could see things that we thought were dealt with long ago, that actually weren’t.Previously before getting this device, I felt a little powerless over the fate of my car, because when you give it to the mechanic shops, you don’t know what’s going on behind closed doors and don’t have the machinery to figure it out. They can give you a litany of things that need to be fixed and how will you double check em? Go to another mechanic and pay another $150 just to assess the problem? This device levels the playing field and offers some transparency into the operating room of the mechanics shop and puts the power of choice back in my hands. Correction, Educated Choice. I always had the power of choice. Now I have facts backing that up. BOOYAH! THIS DEVICE ROCKS! Get it, BEFORE YOU NEED IT…because one day…that little soft orange engine light will blink…everyone’s does at some point or another…

Love it!!! Makes diagnostics on a vehicle 100 times easier, and one doesn’t have to payout the money to have towed to shop, snd or payout a shop first to look over and find out issue before you/one has any idea what the problem & or possible cost of could be….Other than a subscription one needs to access certain premium features, it does exactly what you/one is needing from it! Informs one to what the issue/issues are without any extra/outside help/support to manage….Also you can only use it on one vehicle at a time and or you can use on multiple but have to erase all data to prior vehicle’s first diagnosis, and then use it to re-diagnose to get back the information you/one previously had erase to use on a second vehicle… to use it for a separate vehicle…. If that makes sense to you/one reading this.

Nice product. It’s proven to be helpful on multiple occasions and has offered more info than our other readers have. Definitely a good thing to have on hand!
