Over the years there have been several instances when our solid-wire breakaway cable got caught on something, slamming on the trailer’s brakes. That will not happen with the Fastway Zip breakaway cable. Plus, it’s super easy to connect when hooking up your trailer. Like I said, why didn’t I hear about this years ago?

To many people misuse (mis-route) their brake safety cable by running it through their safety chains. This product insures easy and proper attachment. There are many internet resources to instruct one on the safer way to route the brake safety cable. Don’t take my word for it and don’t say “I been routing it through my cables for 20 years and never had a problem.”

This little cable keeps your Breakaway Cable out of the way, clean and unobtrusive when your trailer is unhitched, and straight to the point when attached. Genius! Works great, looks good, and you don’t have that cable hanging loose all over the place when you are parked.Now….Lets get someone working on a reel to pick up the excess cable when you park a 5th wheel.

Excellent purchase, glad I did it. My old factory trailer cable wore out one trip, looks like it was dragging on the ground and was too frayed to use. I was never quite sure where to attach it either, usually wound it into the chain clips that go to the truck but that never seemed quite right or safe if I actually needed it. With the Fastway, it stays out of the way and has it’s own clip to clip directly to the truck so I know if I ever need it it will be securely fastened and do its job! Should have bought one of these a long time ago and all trailers should come from factory with this type.

This was the perfect replacement for my travel trailer safety break line! First, I would tell you to not even bother with the 4ft one and spend the extra couple bucks for the 6ft one. The problem with my old line was that it was just a cable that was threaded through the safety chain and just had a loop on the end which I never really knew where to actually hook it to my tow vehicle. Add to that the fact that it would hang down and barely latched to anything properly made it a worthless safety mechanism and ultimately led to it getting severed from it dragging on the road during transit. At first I was at a loss as to how to replace my old line because it had factory clasped loops on both ends and also had the plastic tab attached to one end that pulls out to trigger the trailer brakes. So your pretty much have to replace the line and the plastic tab that pulls out. This was the most logical replacement option for a couple reasons. All I had to do was cut the old wire off the plastic tab and simply take the new zip line key chain loop supplied on the zip line right out of the box and attach the plastic tab to it just like you would a key on a key chain loop. That is pretty much it! I just had to push the plastic pin back in to release the trailer brakes and my new safety brake line was replaced just like that. It took less than a minute to replace. Now it is coiled up and wont ever sag and drag on the ground and get severed or frayed. And it also comes with a heavy duty carabiner that I can securely clip to the tow vehicle which makes the safety break line is an actual working and reliable safety device. Every travel trailer owner should have this great product! Don’t know why I didn’t own one sooner or understand why this is not the standard option on all trailers?

I like the coiled wire. Old one dragged on highway and frayed . This one looks like it will work much better. Easy to install. Can’t show a photo. Two days after installing it, we were rammed by an eighteen wheeler, and our RV was totally destroyed. The new breakaway cable did survive the spectacular crash.

Excellent, Convenient product. Much better than the stock cable dragging the ground.I would recommend buying the 6′ cable and not bother with the 4′ cable at all. My hitch is only 3′ from the pin on my trailer so I originally purchased the 4′ cable. But it was stretched very tight and I felt that the constant strain would eventually pull the pin out of my trailer while towing. So I took off the 4′ cable and replaced it with the 6′ cable and it’s a better fit. It’s not a huge difference like you’d think but there is less strain on the pin now. The 6′ coils up to just a few inches so having the extra length will not be a problem at all. It will NOT drag the ground. Not even close. Neither cable even hangs down below the trailer/hitch at all. They will both stretch straight out tight. I was mistaken in thinking that they would comfortable make 4′ and 6′ connections and still be coiled up and having a little slack so that they would hang a little loose. Like I said my hitch is only 3′ from the pin on my trailer and both the 4′ and 6′ are stretched tight.

Man does this work great. Replace the pull wire on my RV emergency brake with this item. No more pulling the release pin out to hook it up. I had already replaced one pin because it wore out from the constant removing and inserting. Now I just hook the clip to my truck and head out. Really strong wiring and the clip is heavy duty. It also stores easy, don’t have to stuff it in the hitch.
