‎Donaldson P551329 Fuel Filter, Water Separator, Spin-on

Filter came with the RunVSE fuel saver system I install on my 23 Chevy Trail boss with the 3.0L Duramax diesel. Had to turn it on pretty tight so it would not leak around the flat rubber o-ring . Be careful the service port at the bottom is not fully tightened and after install it had a slow fuel drip. The service port at the bottom of the filter allows for drainage if too much water is detected in the fuel. The service port valve can be turned counter clockwise and clockwise depending on if you need to drain or close the valve to prevent leakage. I was able to tighten it enough to get it to stop leaking. Just before I was ready for the 15k interval change, I had the truck parked and idling. After about 10 minutes fuel started streaming from the service port. I believe the issue was the valve had become unscrewed enough to allow fuel to discharge through the service port opening. I retighten the service valve and was able to stop the fuel from streaming out but the valve would not close entirely and it continued to have issues with fuel dripping out. I did replace with the same filter and will see if the same issue occurs when it gets closer to the recommended fuel change interval. I have a backup filter just in case, which is always good to have.

Don’t purchase! I have tried 3 of these filters has leaked at the water drain. It has been impossible to tighten enough to prevent leaking.
