I had a very hard time getting this thing installed into my Acer nitro 5 an515-55. It was a huge headache trying to figure it out honestly. I followed the installation guides and everything from the start and it just was not working out. I reached out through Crucials chat feature and was paired up with Sanket B. This guy, over two days, helped me through every single step , in a way no other company has ever helped me with anything. He single-handedly saved his company a customer and earned them a customer for life. OUTSTANDING customer service and care for their customer. For those that are having issues , especially with Acer nitro 5, you need to get into advanced settings in your BIOS. You need to change your SATA mode from RAID to ACHI. You can do this only by booting your computer into safe mode and then pressing F2 before your Acer splash screen after reboot. Then you press Ctrl+S to activate the advanced settings where you can make this change. Good luck to all!

This SSD is super fast, and Crucial has really upped their game with the cloning software. I was able to clone my old SATA SSD drive with operating system directly to this new drive. I then removed the old drive and the computer booted perfectly. It is now my primary drive and I doubled the storage. If you are looking to replace a physical hard drive with an M.2 SSD, this is the way to go!

I’ve used a mix of Samsung AND Crucial and also T Power. ALL have performed great but for the money and reliability over the years Crucial is easier on your wallet. It may not yet include all the bells and whistles you see with Samsung Nvme drives (software) but it works and it lasts just as long in my experience. And speed delivery IS what it says also. Samsung has had an issue with that in the recent past. Samsung spends more on their packaging too which to me means diddly squat. Performance, speed and reliability is all I care about.TRIM feature works well on all 3 brands so keeping your Nvme drive cleaned up isn’t an issue with any of them. Samsung Magician gives you some great software which MIGHT notify you of impending disaster but that’s never a guarantee. I guess it’s a selling point but not definitive!Unless someone specifically asks for it I prefer Crucial overall because they deliver exactly what they say! And I can pass the savings on to my customers.I bought my first SSD back in 2004 which was a little larger than a postage stamp (64 Gb) and I’ve never built with a HDD since unless the customer needed affordable storage not critical to system operations (pictures, backups, document storage, etc.). The good thing is the WD Black 1 Tb HDD drives have gotten so low it’s a bargain now lol.

If your are building a gaming rig, or if you plan this as a boot drive in a Windows PC, you can do better. If you are on an AM4 platform that doesn’t have access to PCI-E Gen 5, then this isn’t a bad choice. Ideally, however, this device works in the right spot for a boot location for simple installations of Linux OS stubs, think TrueNas, ProxMox, XCP-Ng, and so on.The device itself runs cool and the performance is steady. You do not generally need to add any heat spreader or anything to this, as doing so doesn’t make a difference in performance. Some NVMEs throttle due to heat, you’re not going to worry about that here.Good value proposition in the price in comparison to performance and space

I purchased this Crucial1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD to use as a secondary file storage drive in the new Beelink SER8 Mini PC that I recently bought. This is the same exact 1TB Crucial SSD that already comes installed in the Beelink SER8 Mini PC as the boot drive, so they match perfectly. Also, since I have seen this question asked many times now, and I don’t actually see the M.2 SSD slot size specification in the Amazon listing anywhere. This Crucial SSD is the longest size 2280 M.2 form factor. However, the M.2 2280 specification is actually shown on the Crucial SSD in the listing photos several times, but product photos aren’t always accurate. This should hopefully clear up any confusion about the actual SSD size. The Crucial line of products are all made by MICRON, one of the largest and highest quality memory manufacturers in the world, so they are all very high-quality computer memory and storage drive components. I usually either purchase Samsung or Crucial memory and storage drives when building or upgrading computers. However, Crucial components always seems to be “on-sale” for nearly half the price as the equivalent Samsung products (as was this Crucial SSD), so most of the time I wnd up going with Crucial just for that reason. This Crucial SSD installed easily into the second M.2 NVME drive slot on the Beelink SER8 Mini PC motherboard. It was also immediately recognized by Microsoft Windows 11 Professional on boot-up. This Crucial SSD initialized and formatted (GPT/NTFS) with no issues at all. Once up and running the file transfer read and write speeds are very fast, and the drive temperature stays relatively cool under burn-in stress tests. Also, for those reviewers complaining that the actual capacity of these Crucial (or any other brand) SSDs is lower than advertised, that is perfectly normal. Due to computer “math” and memory overhead in any type of storage drive, the actually capacity will always be a little less than the advertised capacity. I have been an I.T. professional for over 25 years, so I have a lot of experience dealing with this drive capacity “issue.”Overall, I highly recommend these Crucial SSDs, as well as all other Crucial products. These Crucial SSDs are easy to install/configure, fast, inexpensive, and they run cool. In fact, I still have some older 2.5 inch Crucial SSDs that have been in service for over 12 years, and they are still running like they are brand new. Pick up one (or a few) of these Crucial SSDs today. Trust me when I say, they are a great product!

I dont have anything against regular SSD’s but this is less obtrussive and is way better for the programs and games I run. Super easy to install, although I recommend installiing before you place your motherboard or graphics card into your pc case because it can be a tight squeeze to get the tiny screw into place.

I use this SSD as my main ssd for storing my Windows 11 OS system on it. After installing and transferring my files over, I noticed my PC boots up MUCH quicker. From 25 seconds to just 5-7 seconds. I also noticed a much higher frame rate and loading times for ALL of my games. I’ve used this same SSD in several pc of mine over the years and it is still by far the most affordable and reliable storage system I’ve used. Since it’s an m.2, it is compatible with nearly every modern computer system out there including laptops and even gaming consoles such as the PS5.

Transitioning to a new high-performance desktop, I sought reliable storage to accommodate my demanding needs. Opting for the Crucial P3 Plus 1TB PCIe Gen4 SSD has proven to be an excellent decision. With ample storage capacity and lightning-fast performance, this SSD has seamlessly integrated into my setup, enhancing overall efficiency. The installation process was straightforward, and the SSD’s performance has surpassed expectations, whether booting up the system or managing resource-intensive tasks. Crucial’s reputation for consistent quality reassured me in my choice, and I’m delighted with the outcome. In summary, if you’re seeking a reliable storage upgrade for your setup, the Crucial P3 Plus SSD is a worthy investment. Highly recommended for its performance and brand trustworthiness.

TLDR; Initial usage is that it’s fast and well built. Not sure about reliability and longevity yet. Will update this review after long term testingContext: I use this SSD as an external drive for my 4k video projects. I store and edit the videos directly on the drive.Pros:- Cheaper than other comparable SSDs for my use case (i.e. using it with 4.0 SSD enclosure as an external drove)- Works with latest version of MacOS- Speed is as advertised for my use caseCons: none yetTip:If you’re using this for MacOS, make sure you correctly format the drive. I’m running MacOS 14.4.1, so I had to format the drive as AFPS in order for my Mac to read and utilize the full potential of the SSD. For other use cases, just google the correct format for your operating system.

Installed into laptop, tested with various software and installed about 200 gb of games and files. I honestly cannot tell if this faster or slower than others ssds I’ve used. As a game and personal data storage it seems great. My only concern is it’s longevity and reliability. Only time will tell but I do feel confident in buying from a reputable company like crucial.

UPDATE: Turned out I just needed to update the firmware and initialize on another PC. Changed rating to 4 stars because Crucial should be shipping these with the most updated firmware at the time of manufacture. Now it works like a champ. Leaving the info below in case someone else has same issue.I got the 4TB P3 Plus. Upon installing in laptop’s compatible NVME slot (Dell Inspiron 5593 – which showed compatible on Crucial’s site), when booting with USB to load windows onto the new drive, I kept getting the blue screen of death (BSOD) with Kernel Security Check Failure.Reseated the Ram, disconnected the SATA drive, reseated the new SSD multiple times. Nada zilch… nothing solved this dilemma. Tried in a 2nd PC just to be sure, but got the exact same error. No visual damage to the NVME.I’m quite disappointed. I also ordered the SATA SSD MX500 a few months back and got one that was actually bent, with no damage to the packaging.Come on Crucial!! Fire your Quality Assurance team because they suck!

I’m quite technically savvy so when I installed this and it was Dead on Arrival, I buckled myself in for “a ride”, trying to make it right. Amazon’s usual ‘easy’ return policy didn’t apply to this one, but after jumping through multiple hoops of “troubleshooting” with tech support, they honored a full replacement, which worked perfectly out of the box.I was a little annoyed when I recognized the troubleshooting script of the first tech was for a 2.5″ SATA drive, not an NVMe drive, but I asked him to hand me off to someone better and the next guy didn’t waste my time, thank goodness. This drive is a fantastic value for the cost, but you might be rolling the dice on whether you get a functioning one, right off. Thankfully Amazon is still really good for returns… I understand them not wanting to return and have an open box return just because someone didn’t know how to properly install it. I’m not mad… I was just sad while on the phone 😀

If you have any other version of Acronis, say the WD branded one. Use THAT one. DO NOT replace it with the Micron version (this one) until you have made a backup and recovery media (use a usb stick that you make in Acronis), and booted into it.

I really like my Crucial P3+ 2TB M.2 NVME drive. No issues whatsoever. Works great. Fast speeds as you can see in the screenshot. Just as good as a Samsung drive for a little cheaper cost. I am a new Crucial fan now.

I got two of these on sale. One was for my ps5 and the other was for my gaming laptop. For the ps5 I now have much more free space after I downloaded my digital library, which is not much except that the games have very large file sizes. The extra space on my gaming laptop allows me to do more video editing.

Setup: I have an Intel NUC11i7, 32GB. Also have a MacBook Pro M1 (2020), 16GB. The NUC11 is PCIe 4×4 internal and Lightningbolt 4 external. The MBP is PCIe 3×4 internal and LB3 external. I use the Crucial P3 Plus 4TB drive in an external enclosure that is PCIe 3×4 TB3, USB 3.2, 40Gbps (JEYI ThunderDock 7Ultra, which, btw, is AWESOME if you use it properly – the best PCIe 3×4 external device i’ve found). I alternate use of the JEYI between my NUC and MBP as a backup drive and an external content drive for the MBP (thus the P3+ is formatted exFAT). With all that said, here are the speed results for both Intel/Windows and Apple/MBP (see pics 1 & 2). Initial transfer to the JEYI/P3+ of a 2.5TB drive did start to saturate and slow around 1.5TB xfer but WOW, that’s pretty impressive for a $175 4TB drive (as of this writing)! Furthermore, no heat issues as the P3+ 4TB never went over 55c in the JEYI enclosure. AND, check out pic 3. These were the numbers using Crucial Storage Executive Tool Momentum Cache software (only available for Windows) from the NUC to the external JEYI. WoW! Overall VERY happy with this purchase. I’ll update this post in the future if any issues arise. PS, if you don’t get similar numbers, you have to set both platforms to Performance mode in disk policies (i.e. no hot swap of external drive allowed) and, if your external device has its own power supply, use the Crucial SE tool.

I have an older Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Tablet (Gen 3) that is just so sluggish at everything. I got tired of wondering what the heck is wrong with this thing so installed a benchmarking software called Samsung Magician and found out that my tablet was getting ~500MB reads and around ~325MB writes. I took a chance and ordered this Crucial P3 1TB drive hoping it would breathe new life into the tablet and WOW was I blown away!!. With this, I’m now getting 3495MB reads (a 7x improvement) and 2982MB writes (a 9x improvement!!) and the tablet is so much faster now! It’s snappy and responsive like a laptop, and with 1TB of storage, too! I can’t believe the junk drive Lenovo installed in this premium tablet at the factory. They should be ashamed. This Crucial P3 drive was well worth the money.(Also, upgrading the storage in Lenovo Tablet was easy-peasy!)

I have used many hundreds of the Crucial SSD’s in both M2 and SATA configurations and I have always been very happy with them and I have excellent results. I build and repair computers for a living and I need to have top notch materials so they perform and don’t give me problems. I am totally happy with their products. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

As a habit I like to verify all new drives / chips before using them. This was done through an Asus ROG Strix external enclosure on a USB 3.0 gen 1. In comparison to a Samsung 970 Evo on the same setup, this wrote fractionally faster, but read fractionally slower. To be serious it is mostly limited by the port in this case, but I am glad to see close to equal numbers here. A complete fill using 100mb-5gb files yielded 186mb/s average speeds and all files were successfully verified. You will see much higher speeds on a built-in M.2 port, or even on a USB 3.2 port with the right external enclosure. Sadly I cannot give you those numbers currently as I’m on a 2015 HP G2 Mini.Either way this is a good buy for the price. Unless you are building a brand new machine it is unlikely your computer or peripherals can even utilize the speed this drive is capable of, let alone a faster one.

It works and installed in SSD2 slot for Dell XPS15 9520. Hard part was getting the cover off the Dell and used ifixit to loosen the back cover, Installed 2nd solid state drive and used the tiny screw that came with the SSD drive. Had to realign back cover holes in order to tighten screws (DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN SCREWS)After installation restarted laptop and found a unallocated hardrive , formated in NTFS , renamed diskdrive as Slave and indicated 3.72TB free.I ordered a heat sink for slot1 , but have not received it yet, but went into Bios and set temperature for cool.

mpare to other. So, I got my hands on the Crucial P3 Plus 2TB M.2 SSD and I was impressed. This thing is lightning fast! It reads and writes at up to 5000MB/s and 4400MB/s, respectively. That’s faster than any M. 2 SSD I bought, and it cheaper than similar SSDs on the market. It’s great to finally have enough space to store all my games and applications without running out of room! Overall, I’m really happy with my purchase. It’s fast, reliable, and has plenty of storage space to meet my needs. If you’re looking for a top-of-the-line SSD, definitely consider the P3 Plus!

NVME SSD stick at affordable price. Couldn’t be happier. Amazon has this lower than other retail and even at Crucial.comShipping was fast.First image is for 3rd Generation Western digital 1 TB PCIE NVME SSD that came with my HP Envy desktop. Luckily there is a place for another PCIE NVME SSD where I put this Crucial 4th generation PCIE NVME SSD stick. After that cloned WD NVME to Crucial to boot my Window 11 directly from Crucial.5058 is Crucial and 2461 is Western Digital.Read and Write is performing as advertised. It came with a screw to fasten to the motherboard. Very easy to install. After installing, Windows 11 may not recognize it. So go to BIOS whether BIOS is detecting or not? After that use “Disk management” to enable this PCIE NVME SSD. If you want to switch the boot order go once again to BIOS and make the changes.Very happy with the purchase.

nd reliable. I used this to replace a Samsung 980 Pro that failed. Hoping the reliability is a little better and it’s only a little bit slower but for the price I really can’t complain. I have some Crucial SSDs that are close to 10 years old that still work so I’m guessing this will be reliable.

. I have had this installed in my PS5 for 3 months now with no complaints. I mainly play ps4 games so I direct the console to install all media apps and ps4 gams to the additional storage (this drive). I can see no noticeable difference between the built in storage and this drive. Games still load super fast.I did purchase a heatsink as it doesn’t come with one, but works great with PS5. The extra 2TB gives me peace of mind even though I will never fill up this drive.
