Neighbor wanted his laptop to run faster – only option was to change from his 2.5 SSD to this type.No formatting or partition or any changes to BIOS needed.System was a Dell Inspiron 3420. Was still slow somewhat booting given it had a low end processor, once loaded , Windows 10 pro was flawless and opening many apps at same time went smoothWorked great – great price. Would buy again

I purchased this drive along with the SSK Aluminum M.2 NVME SATA SSD Enclosure Adapter and the Geekworm X1001 PCIe to M.2 HAT Key-M NVMe SSD PIP PCIe Peripheral Board to add 500GB to my Raspberry Pi 5 and not use the SD card. I bought the enclosure adapter to set the drive up initially, then mounted the drive to the HAT and mounted it on the Pi. It is significantly faster than the SD card, and I’ve had no problems or issues with it.

I recently added the Crucial P3 1 TB NVMe M.2 SSD to my server setup, and it has been a solid performer. Despite being a Gen 3, which is not the fastest in the market, the speed are quite adequate for my needs, significantly outpacing traditional HDDs. The installation process was as straightforward as you’d expect with any M.2 SSD, quick and without any hitches. This SSD strikes a great balance between price and performance. It offers decently fast storage at a cost that’s hard to beat, making it an ideal choice if you’re building a server where extreme speed for the OS is not the priority. For anyone looking for reliable storage that improves upon HDD speeds without breaking the bank, the Crucial P3 SSD is a commendable option.

I am using this NVMe drive on my Raspberry Pi 5. I installed it with a GeekWorm X1001 M.2 HAT, which I also purchased on Amazon. This drive was recognized immediately after installation, imaged properly, and booted with no issues. Testing proves a 20x increase in random read/write speed over the Sandisk Extreme PRO microSD that I was previously using on my Pi, and application launch speeds are significantly reduced.I have never used a Crucial drive before but I will certainly consider purchasing more of their products in the future.

It’s fast, reliable, lots of storage, and super easy to install. When I bought it, 1 tb was $48 before tax. If there is a good deal, I would recommend purchasing the 2tb over the 1tb if you plan on having a lot of games installed. I’m at the point where I have to choose what to uninstall and it gets annoying over time.

Technology is constantly evolving, and the rate at which it does so is truly astounding. One of the most recent developments that has caught my attention is the NVMe stick upgrade for old laptops. It’s amazing how just one small upgrade can completely transform a dated, slow laptop into a powerhouse of efficiency and speed.I recently had the opportunity to witness this firsthand when I gifted and installed this device for a friend of mine in they’re laptop. The difference was nothing short of astonishing. What was once a sluggish, frustrating device suddenly became a fast, responsive machine that could easily handle any task thrown at it.I was particularly impressed by how this small upgrade turned the old laptop into a NASA-grade communicator. The speed and efficiency with which it now operated were comparable to that of a brand-new, high-end laptop. It demonstrated just how much of a difference modern technology can make in an aging system. The NVMe stick upgrade represents the perfect example of how a simple, relatively inexpensive upgrade can breathe new life into old technology. It’s a testament to the power of innovation and how it can transform our day-to-day lives. No longer do we have to suffer through the frustrations of using outdated devices when a small upgrade can make all the difference. This upgrade also highlights the importance of staying current with technology. As new advancements continue to emerge, it’s vital to keep up with them in order to stay competitive and efficient. Whether it’s in a personal or professional setting, having the latest technology at one’s disposal can make all the difference in the world.Overall, I am incredibly impressed by the impact of the NVMe stick upgrade on an old laptop. It’s a reminder of just how far we’ve come in terms of technological advancements and how much potential there is for continued growth and innovation. As we continue to push the boundaries of what is possible, I am excited to see what other incredible upgrades and developments will emerge in the future.

First off Crucial was No.1 in laptop memory modules when HP was king of laptops back in the aughts. They are reliable and that was one the reason I chose this smaller size NVMe SSD.The biggest advantage of why you should buy Crucial is their RMA process works. I originally suspected the memory had error as it was not getting detected on the NVMe-USB adapter. So raised an RMA and got a replacement. My only complaint is it took them 2 weeks to respond to my RMA request!!The new module also gave same error so thats when I figured my adaptor was the issue. Using a different adaptor, I was able to use the memory module. Im using this as a storage for my Raspberry Pi.

Works, but still doesn’t max out USB-C. I measured ~850 MB/s read and ~700 MB/s write on a 14″ MBP attaching this 500GB stick to a built-in TB4 port via a MAIWO M.2 NVMe SSD Docking Station which supports 3.2 gen 2 10Gbps (also purchased here). Multiple measurements gave same consistent results. There is a few % overhead from encrypted APFS, but for flash that is advertised as “up to 3,500 MB/s”, you’d expect this stick to come very close to maxing out the 10 Gbps of the USB 3.2 bus. But it clearly doesn’t. It’s an inexpensive stick though (got mine for $27 plus tax). Overall I’d say decent, but in the end, you do get what you paid for.

Recently got this SSD for my main desktop. Not doing anything particularly heavy like video editing or big frequent file transfers. It works really well for normal work, and gaming. With crystal diskmark i got a 3500Mib read and 3300Mib write, which is well in spec. The gb/$ is really good for nvme drives too, especially on sale. I haven’t had the chance to test customer support though, so i wont comment on that. All in all 10/10 so far.

PS5 requires gen 4 speed because of the advertised direct storage, but most games cannot surpass the speeds of gen3 NVME drives.Crucial is a great company that excels in the storage game and for a great value on all fronts.Pros -fast reads and writescooleasy to install compared to sata drives.great price per GBreliable (I have multiples of these drives and use them for games /content creation/ data back up which means things are written, deleted, over written many times, no failures yet.)consnone so far.

I bought (7) of these to put in M.2 SSD NAS (Asustor 12 bay).Crucial website user friendly & registering for warranty is legit.Been using for a few months now, no hiccups & they run well, & cool.I spent a great deal of time looking for the best-price 4TB M.2 SSD for the NAS, these ticked all the boxes.Single-sided, 4TB, Gen3, warranty, consistent positive user reviews, & run moderately cool even without a heat sync.If these last, then they turned out to be a great choice for this NAS.

i had zero issues replacing my failed SSD in my mac pro. granted i already had: a) an NVME to apple slot adapter, b) my previous drive and time machine backups were on Catalina, and c) a catalina recovery usb drive. so all i had to do was stick the NVME drive on the motherboard, plug in the catalina recovery usb stick, and plug in my time machine external drive, and it booted right in to usb recovery, no issues with disk utility not seeing or being able to format the drive, and time machine restored without any issue. nice 4TB upgrade for a very reasonable price!

Great price and very large 2 TB capacity.Upgraded the tiny 256 gb SSD in a Lenovo Ideapad 730s to 2 TB with this M.2 PCLe3.0 MVMe SSD.Installation was extremely easyInstallation entailed downloading the Acronis True Image software for Crucial from the Crucial support page listed in the supplied “documentation”.Additional equipment needed was an SSD “Card Reader” – see pic. Since my laptop has only USB C ports, an USB C to A adapter was needed for the SSD card readerThe Acronis software cloned the existing drive in less than 10 minutes.Laptop booted right up after swapping out the drives. Added benefit, the old SSD is now a Windows backup drive.Recommended!

This is my first m.2 and I’m honestly super happy with the result. The package is pretty simple, it comes with a little document that has the tech support or support info in several languages and it also comes with the screw to install the m.2, something that seemed pretty interesting to me because many reviews from other products (made by another brand) said that they often didn’t include the screw. The installation is pretty easy, although it also depends on the motherboard you’re using if you want to use the m.2 as main drive.I realized later that I probably could’ve got a different m.2 by crucial, the P3 plus is also available for my motherboard but I didn’t know it was when I got the crucial. Yes, a little dumb, but anyways I’ll get another one sometime! As a recommendation check the compatibility with your Motherboard or device, and paying a few extra dollars you can actually get one with 5000MB/s and same storage. (The delivery is pretty quick).Great brand, the first time I see it and I wanted to give it a try. It’s been AMAZING. Thank you for reading hope you found this informative.

Works great after installing a new Sintech adapter https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FYY3H5F after the old one housed a slightly thicker double sided 2TB ADATA SX8200 in it from the first upgrade I had done from the native Apple 256GB SSD. The previous adapter contacts did not hold secure, so it would not boot. The new one solved this issue. Also, you must use the Apple legacy cloning option in CCC to make the backup onto the SSD first using a USB NVMe case, which for me took about 1.5 hours to complete. Once I knew it would have no issues booting, I added the heatsink I had from the prior SSD to the Crucial SSD and remounted the SSD into the Mac. All is great now and this is much faster than the original 4TB Apple SSD that would have cost a fortune at the time.

Paid $699 for my sons Asus Tuf F15 FX506HF-ES51 and for price and fact you can EASILY add second ram stick or replace both and add second SSD inside was the real deal finish. figured the 8Gigs wouldn’t be able to handle much so I I bought 2 of these Crucial 16G ram sticks ($56 for the pair) to put in my sons Asus Tuf F15 FX506HF-ES51 giving him 32Gigs of Ram and worked perfect. YouTubed how to put in but easy. Just put inside close and done. So decided to also order a Crucial P3 1TB SSD ($38) to put inside as he has secondary SSD slot inside. (Our laptops have 3rd gen SSD slots so buying a 4th gen is pointless). That was just as easy and simple to Format. So I decided to buy the same laptop and then bought 2 32 gig ram sticks from crucial ($100) giving me 64Gigs of Ram, and the same 1 TB solid-state drive for mine and they’ve all done really well. Crucial has been great and reasonably priced thus far. And the laptops have been great and has played some hardcore games. I plan to do some Divinci video editing. So for basically $800 give or take have a Asus Gaming Tuf laptop with 64Gigs of ram and 500TB SSD and 1TB SSD.

I got this 1TB SSD to use in an enclosure as a secondary storage. It works well, handles the 20gbps speed of the enclosure, and I was able to format it so that it works with my MacBook Pro. So far, everything is working well and I’m happy with my purchase.

I installed this Crucial 500gb drive first pic in my older Dell 7010 with an adapter card in the pcie (blue) x16 slot. It is really fast booting up now. Everything is quicker.A 2tb Crucial in my 7050 second pic. These are tough to beat for the money.

You really can’t go wrong here. I’ve been using this in every computer upgrade I have done that isn’t an enthusiast build. It’s super fast and way overkill for what I am using it for, but the value is really that good. They have been very reliable. Crucial is the GOAT.

My work issued me an updated laptop, but with a 256g drive, all they offer employees. As I am the company IT person, I immediately opened the laptop and replaced the SSD with 512gig. Then put our company image on the drive. Running just fine, and enough storage for my needs. My work has a 20gig network folder for me as well. It is more than getting the job done.

Title says it all. Simple to install and clone from smaller NVMe drive. Have used Crucial memory and drives for many, many years and this drive lives up to past successes. Many reviews say the wrong screw is supplied. That’s probably true but I didn’t lose that lottery. Mine was the correct screw size.

No BIOS tweaks needed on my PC! The drive won’t show up after you boot up. You have to go into “Computer Management” to “Disk Management” to initialize it and format it.When you click on Disk Management it should pop up with a window that says Disk 1 needs to be initialized. Initialize using the GPT format not MBR. After you initialize it you have to format it. Right-click on Disk 1 in Disk Management to format it. Format using NTFS not exFAT. Presto, a 4TB SSD!

I am using this 4 TB drive in a thunderbolt 4 enclosure from ACASIS https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BBZT42HC – works perfectly on my 2021 M1 Pro 16 Macbook. Read and write are 2500+ using Blackmagic to test on 1GB files, using 5GB the write still stays in 2500+ but read drops to 2200+. That is plenty fast for everything I need to do which is typically just editing 4k HDR video footage on Final Cut pro. For comparison my built in 1 TB hard drive runs up to around 6400 for read and write. In actual use I don’t notice any difference between the built in and this external drive. Great value for the money.

Crucial has been in the memory game forever and it’s usually a go to brand for me. I had to replace a smaller SSD with something larger so I chose this drive and it’s been performing very well. I had no issues installing it or using it and I’d highly recommend the brand / drive to anyone searching.

Installed in a Dell 7060 Micro computer. Make sure you load UEFI when you build your system image, and everything will work great (as it did for me). Currently running Linux Mint, and getting an average transfer rate of 3.1GB/s (per the Linux Disks benchmark utility), with no reliability issues. Very happy with this purchase.

I got 3 of these 4TB model CT4000P3SSD8 M.2 units in the last 30 days (2 from Crucial’s website and 1 from Amazon), and they work fantastic.Prices have dropped on Amazon recently so they are a steal, and also come with 5y warranty! The initial two units are now in my cMacPro on a PCIe x16 card, and make my Mac w/ Monterey fly. The 3rd is in a USB 3.1 enclosure, used as Game Storage with an Xbox Series X whose USB interface is capable of 5 GB/s, while this M.2 model is rated at 3.5 GB/s. Interestingly, once formatted by the Xbox the available capacity was only 3.6TB from 4TB, so not sure where the rest of 400 GB went, but maybe it’s the way the Xbox file system works, as in the Mac the other 2 exact same model CT4000P3SSD8 blades each show 4TB.Anyway, copying games from the Xbox internal storage (PCIe 4.0) to this Crucial M.2 NVMe SSD briefly topped off at 2.71 Gb/s for me and then settled around 2.41 Gb/s.All I can say is that I am very happy with these M.2 SSD’s and wish I waited a month to get them all on Amazon and save over $50 🙂

ances are this is all you need. BIG, Fast, and Cheap. I love the speed and 4TB size of this baby. And for the record, it also runs cool without any additional heat sink. Fantastic upgrade. If you have an empty compatible slot you should give this a go instead of a regular SATA SSD. You’ll be glad you did.

livery!. With Crucial having a great reputation throughout the many generations of technology, the Crucial P3 was the best choice. Having high write speed using the Nvme interface, it was a no-brainer. Works perfectly with my laptop, is very easy to install and even includes a screw if needed. The only complaint I have is the large amount of plastic packaging, having a simple cardboard box and single plastic tray is all that is needed, not the paper manual and multiple layers of plastic. Great buy!

no reason to go for a hdd when you get almost the same amount of space for the same amount of money, out of the actual tb only got 930gb but other than that works perfectly fine.

I was nervous adding this 4TB NVMe to my HP -17ca00cl laptop because I’d tried to install a 4TB SSD in a disk caddy before but Windows 11 and the BIOS didn’t recognize it, no matter what I did. This Gen3 PCIe was as easy to plug in as a USB drive. Windows recognized right away, too, and pulled up the Disk Management dialog box where I then created a partition. Crucial, BTW, indicated I didn’t need to load any firmware for the drive as Windows already has drivers built in.I then used the free Acronis software from the Crucial website to clone my C drive to the NVMe. This also went off without a hitch. It was a tad confusing, though, because most of the options in the software all sound the same. I just went with whatever check box it was defaulted and hoped for the best. It worked, and fairly quickly, too.The software then stated I should turn off my laptop and remove the original C drive so the computer will boot to the new drive. As it turned out, I didn’t have to do that because the BIOS recognized the NVMe as the new C drive. (The Acronis software had designated the old C drive as F. Pretty convenient).Because the Windows 11 Disk Management tool didn’t allow me to delete and merge partitions on my old C drive, I used the free EaseUs Partition Master to accomplish that. Everything’s working so far.

n looking for a 4TB drive in the $200 price range for a while and this fit the bill. The speeds are good. Not the fastest drive out there, but I wasn’t expecting it to be.Probably has lower tbw than other drives, but I plan on using this mostly for game storage, and I think this is the perfect drive for that. Would not recommend using this for an OS drive. Also, THANK YOU to Crucial for including the m.2 screw with this drive. I’ve bought other m.2 drives before and they did not come with the screw, and if you can’t find it in your motherboard box, or if you have a pre-built it can be a major pain. So, thumbs up for the thoughtfulness.

TIME) But Might as well get PCIE 4.0 drives these days. This drive has served me well. It does the job, and it’s as fast as you’d expect an NVME drive to be. At the time, it was a good deal. However, unless you grab this at a nice discount, PCIE Gen 4.0 drives have come down to about the same price as a Gen 3.0 drive like this, so, while you don’t really notice the difference unless you’re moving large files around, you might as well go for that.

‘t even realize this style of SSD existed, much less that my laptop had a spot open just waiting for it. My HP was nothing special and sometimes agonizingly slow when I was in a hurry. The original battery had died, so I looked up a video on how to replace it. I found one and while the guy had it apart, he slapped one of these in it and migrated his OS over to it. It looked easy enough, so I decided to give it a try. Turned out to be very simple and the performance is leaps and bounds better than the old HDD. I’ve never seen Windows load in just seconds, the way it does now.
