We have bought a total of three of these over the past several months. They are perfect for travel, desk use and having near any furniture. The screen size is larger than most and I appreciate the double power feature (solar and back up replaceable battery). Casio products have always served us well over the years.

This calculator is surprisingly (almost laughingly) small and not what I expected – but that’s on me for not realizing the actual size! Still, it’s a great tool to have and I plan to keep it in a kitchen drawer for quick household access. I just bought a larger version for crunching numbers at my desk for work.

I’m not sure why there are so many negative reviews regarding the size and display size.As you can see in the photo, the display is larger than a typical calculator. However, the numbers are narrower. As a negative review mentioned, there are no comma’s in the display, but there is a decimal point.I purchased the Amazon Basics calculator on the left to use at work in a distribution center to verify counts. While it worked perfectly in most instances; Sometimes I needed something smaller when I was operating certain types of equipment. That is why I ordered this Casio. It was small, inexpensive and I wouldn’t cry if anything happened to it at the DC.It is small. It is light.If you have large fingers, you may have problems with the buttons.Because of it’s light weight, you may forget you have it in a pocket. Or forget it and lose it period.So far it’s worked perfectly for how I use it. While I need + 1 reading glasses often at work for my equipment mounted computer and RF Gun, I do not need them to read the screen on this calculator with the lighting in the warehouse.If I were to lose this calculator, I would probably spend $2 more for the slightly larger Casio to try it out, because is seems to have a little more substance to it.Overall, I’m happy with this calculator. It fits pretty much anywhere and is doing exactly what I bought it for perfectly.You will have to be careful with it though. Because it’s so thin and light, I doubt that it is very durable.There are reviews about this item not being returnable. In my case, the calculator works fine and a return wasn’t necessary.Due to the cost of the calculator and shipping, I understand why it wouldn’t be returnable due to “buyers remorse”. However, if it arrived, wasn’t working and can’t be returned, that is another issue.

I ordered this to pad an order for free shipping, and I was pleasantly surprised. This will replace my favorite calculator that I had for years that finally died. My phone calculator sucks and has trouble giving me simple calculations, such as percentages, but that little solar calculator does great and gives me exactly what I need. It holds an extended charge, and hasn’t run out of power yet, even in the dark months in the PNW.

I couldn’t double check the part number on my existing calculator, because it was MIA. I ordered two of these thinking it was the same one and I was sorely mistaken. Found the old one much to my delight and now know it’s an SL-300SV… so I ordered 2 more of those… one for home, one for office, one for laptop bag. The SL-300SV is the perfect size to fit in the palm of your hand and the keys aren’t much larger than your finger tip.This new one HS8VA… it’s nearly identical, just too small for me. Found myself accidentally hitting the wrong key etc and would have to start over. I wasn’t a happy camper. I’m female with average size hands… so think M gardening gloves if for women, or S if they’re unisex.This might work out great for someone with petit little hands or perhaps a child.If this is anything like the other model, they last practically forever. Solar power is very dependable. I’ve never had to replace the solar cell battery and I have owned that one for well over 10 years.
