I was looking for slippers to wear around the house. I have problems with chronic back, hip, and foot pain, so I needed something that would dampen the impact of walking on the wood floors in my apartment. I’m also a huge klutz, so I wanted something with a real sole.I’ve been wearing these slippers for a few days now, and these slippers are wonderful for me! The memory foam provides a good cushion for walking around. The fabric is ridiculously soft and keeps my feet nice and warm (which is tough for me, since I’m perpetually cold…). The sole grips the floor well. I would’ve liked some arch support, but that’s not a big issue for me.I typically wear a size 7.5 shoe, and after reading the reviews, I bought a size 6.5-7.5 M. The fit is pretty good, but occasionally the back will slip off my foot. I have very narrow feet, so I like the adjustable velcro strap on the shoe.If you’re looking for something stylish, these are probably not for you. They definitely look like nice granny slippers, but I don’t mind that. The navy color is very nice, and the shoes look exactly like they do in the product pictures.I’ve seen a lot of reviews complaining about the embroidered logo in the heel of the shoe. For me, it hasn’t been a problem. I don’t even notice it.Overall, these are a great pair of slippers. I’d definitely buy them again in the future.

After researching for the best slippers for elderly women, I settled on these for my 85-year-old mother. Although it took ordering 3 different sizes and returning the first two attempts, the third was the charm, and she loves them. They are soft and warm. They are not particularly supportive, but they have rubber soles, which is so important for the elderly. The Velcro strap over the instep allows a larger opening for slipping your foot inside, and it allows for adjustment when feet are swollen. They go on fairly easily — this is the only reason I gave 4 stars rather than 5. They have elastic in the heel, which is good for keeping them securely on the feet. However, the elastic prevents the wearer from simply stepping into the shoes. It requires using your finger to stretch the elastic and pull the shoe up onto the heel. So the wearer needs to be able to bend over to do that, or she may need assistance.Concerning the fit — you may need to size UP. Mother told me she wears a size 6. So I ordered 5/6 B. Those were too tight — she forgot to tell me that she wears a Wide. So back those go, and I ordered 5/6 C/D. Now she says those are too short. So back those go, Size 6.5/7.5 C/D fits really well.I do not see on the website that they are washable, but I plan to wash them. I own another similar pair of Acorn slippers — they wash and air-dry just fine.Thank you, Amazon Prime, for making returns and exchanges so easy!

I already own two pair of the spa slippers (thong-style) and love them. I have been in search of something with a closed-toe style for the colder months of the years. I have tried several more expensive manufacturers and been disappointed with the short length of time before they began falling apart. I tried a less expensive manufacturer and loved the feel of the slipper, but they only lasted 4 months before the fabric was completely worn through and the stuffing coming out. I had not ordered these because I was wanting a slide-in style that I didn’t have to tuck my heel into. Since I had such poor luck with other options, I went ahead and purchased these out of desperation. I bought the black since they were significantly less expensive than the other colors but I was a bit concerned about them showing dirt, and particularly cat hair.Bottom Line, I should have ordered these from the beginning! The black color does not show dirt at all and the cat hair isn’t problem. While it does take an extra minute to put them on, that is minor compared to the benefits. The slipper has a strap of fabric across the top with velcro so you can adjust the tightness in the front of the slipper. There is elastic around the top of the heel section so it is easy to get on and off plus it allows the slipper to conform to your foot, increasing the comfort. They are well-made and still look just like they did when I took them out of the package. There is a generous amount of support on the slipper bed so they support the foot nicely. Two things I will bring to your attention. 1) Sizing: I usually wear a size 9 shoe, and sometimes a 9.5. I originally ordered the large but had to return them since they were too small. I went with the extra large and they fit will, but aren’t any too big. Based upon my experience, I would assume these run on the small side. 2) While the slipper bed is well-supported for a slipper, they do bend and flex. This is fine with me, but if you are are looking for a stiff slipper bed, this isn’t for you.Acorn is becoming a brand I trust.
