Using it as a backup mouse for my gaming laptop, it’s big, ergonomically shaped and has probably the best button actuation of any gaming mouse I’ve used. Only issue you might have is the size (large) and large hump in the middle for the ergonomic shape.

I’ve owned several Razer mice, none preowned: a DeathAdder 3500 back in 2010 that lasted ~7 years before it started clicking on its own, a Mamba Elite (wired) in 2021 that had just outlasted its warranty when the scroll wheel malfunctioned, and this white DeathAdder Essential, which lasted 13 months before having the same scroll wheel malfunction.Of the three, I like the design of this one more than the others. Visually, it’s sleek, simple, and nearly symmetrical — only as asymmetrical as is necessary to be ergonomic. In contrast to the black with green light, the white with white light is very pretty without standing out glaringly as a gaming mouse. Also, the inevitable buildup of gunk is visible enough on the white to know when you’ve fully cleaned it, but somehow less nasty looking than on a black mouse, in my opinion. Aside from the eventual malfunction (which I’ll address in a moment), all of the aspects of functionality are perfectly satisfying to me. More serious gamers explain that better than I can. The volume of the clicks and scrolls is pleasant and within a normal range. For $20, this is an EXTREMELY good mouse.Others have described the scroll wheel malfunction, but in short, during a scroll the input is interrupted by movement in the opposite direction. Scrolling downward, it will jitter upward in the middle of the scroll, and visa versa. For office use and games where scrolling controls camera zoom, it’s just an annoyance. For games where scrolling selects items on a toolbar, it’s an actual problem. With the Mamba Elite, I had not known about the issue when I bought it, so I was very frustrated and disappointed, and stubbornly avoided getting a new mouse for quite some time. The malfunction got worse and worse over time. However, I bought this DeathAdder Essential fully informed and expecting to have this problem, with the logic that getting to use this mouse for only 6 months or a year is still worth $20 to me. I saw that folks had this scroll wheel issue as early as 6 months into use; for me, it just started this morning, 13 months into use. I came back to this page immediately to order another one. It feels bizarre to treat a Razer mouse as disposable when the ones I previously owned had been so incredibly expensive at the time, but $20 is $20. When the new one arrives, the old one will travel with me for office use on my laptop.Unless you need a mouse that will last for several years and/or you can’t stomach throwing an electronic in the trash when it dies a premature death, I strongly recommend this mouse.

When you haven’t had a razer mouse in your life before, gaming feels like something that you would simply enjoy or relax, it was a good experience but nothing more, after you buy your first mouse it feels like you could reach the next level of it, its truly incredible

Buy this one for daily work including coding and other stuff. Have bought one for Gaming when living overseas earlier this year. Good quality and performance. Only pay attention to clean the grip occasionally due to the pretty white surface.

The Razer DeathAdder Essential Gaming Mouse has been an excellent addition to my setup. It works flawlessly, providing precise and responsive tracking that’s perfect for both gaming and everyday use. What really impressed me is how well the mouse glides over my wooden table without the need for a mousepad. The feet are incredibly smooth, allowing for effortless movement across the surface with no drag or issues. The ergonomic design is comfortable for long gaming sessions, and the build quality feels solid. It’s lightweight, but still durable enough for heavy use. For the price, this mouse offers exceptional value and performance. If you’re looking for a reliable gaming mouse that works great on almost any surface, this is a perfect choice!

I was looking to replace my wireless mouse. I had a Bluetooth wireless mouse for a few years before it just gave out. The mouse cursor just wouldn’t move on the screen and it didn’t matter if I changed the battery or try to fix it using some Reddit source, nothing worked. I researched wireless mice varieties to try and find a great replacement and after talking with a gamer, I decided I didn’t actually need something that was wireless. I am so glad I went with this mouse! I love the design, it is so sleek and I love the green accent. It lights up when you use it. It’s just really pretty. But the connectivity is far superior to a wireless mouse. The ease of use and the reaction time of the mouse is far superior to a wireless mouse. I also don’t have to worry about that mouse cursor freezing or unresponsiveness because of the Bluetooth capability. The buttons are also very responsive and handling the mouse is very comfortable. Overall, if you want a reliable mouse, be willing to pay for reliable mouse. This one was worth it and I do recommend it!

For the price I paid for this gaming mouse, I feel that it’s worth it. I looked at other reviews about this product and saw that some people were complaining about the scroll wheel breaking. I don’t think people understand that after so many years of use there is obviously going to be wear and tear. Things don’t last forever, nothing is built like it used to be in the past. This mouse is great quality and I use it everyday playing games on my laptop. The mouse is super smooth and durable (take care of your product, don’t beat it up! Just take care and use it properly and keep it clean!) When you first plug in the mouse there is a Razor software that you need to download to control the mouse scroll light and other cool features. You don’t need to download the other Razor software that prompts you to upgrade your PC Performance and graphics and other stuff. I tried that and it made my pc feel slow and weird so don’t download that if it prompts you it. Other than that buy this product its worth your time and money. Hope y’all enjoy!

The Razer gaming mouse is a true gem for avid gamers. Its ergonomic design ensures comfort during long gaming sessions, and the customizable RGB lighting adds a touch of personalization to the setup. The precision and responsiveness of the mouse are outstanding, providing a competitive edge in gaming scenarios. The programmable buttons offer versatility, allowing users to tailor the mouse to their gaming preferences. The build quality is robust, with durable materials that withstand the rigors of intense gaming. The smooth glide and accurate sensor contribute to a seamless gaming experience.Razer’s commitment to quality is evident in the attention to detail, from the tactile feel of the buttons to the reliable performance of the scroll wheel. The software integration enhances the overall user experience, enabling fine-tuning of settings. For gamers seeking a top-tier gaming mouse that combines style, functionality, and performance, the Razer gaming mouse stands out as a 5-star choice that delivers on all fronts.

I own this mouse in both colors now and use it everyday for both gaming and schoolwork. After using my black one for about 1 1/2 years, I can say I’ve had no issues. The light up detail on the mouse is pretty and matches my new setup- it’s white on the white mouse and green on the black mouse. The two side buttons are useful as key binds in many games and to go back and forth with webpages and I’m happy there isn’t a DPI button near the scroll wheel- no accidental DPI changes. The mouse also has a slightly matte texture on the top which makes using it enjoyable. Not a very heavy mouse, is a good size for an average length hand.

My old mouse wasnt registering when I would click so obviously it was at the end of its life.I decided to get this mouse due to the good reviews and also because its a pretty simple design done really well. This is by far the best mouse I have ever used for casual computer stuff plus gaming.Great price point, great quality! 5/5

Came in record time! Replaced my college students mouse that wasn’t working so great. This one works very well! Delivered fast so he didn’t skip a beat during finals week.

This was purchased for my 11 year old gaming son. He’s used it quite a bit and it’s held up quite nicely against the frenzy of a preteen gamer if you can imagine.

I have had it for over a year… and it survived a very close lightning strike.. so close that it shocked and numbed my hand through the mouse. It didn’t phase the mouse… didn’t even make the mouse lose it’s programming. That was about 3 months ago and the mouse is still going strong.

Such a cute big mouse!! I love it, comparing it to my iMac mouse, I will forever appreciate this purchase. It’s on the lighter side and the cable is thin. I have cats so I want to be careful and make sure they don’t chew on it because they would definitely get through it.

Average mouse and have owned for almost exactly 4 months. Looks great, feels great in the hand too. Would not reccomend if you have occasional sweaty hands or do intense gaming to be honest. Also Scroll circle has issues after 2 months, and requires at a minimum weekly cleaning in order for it to continue working. some cursor drift occurs too which is not fixed by cleaning mouse or switching mouse pads. Overall would only reccomend to someone who is NOT gaming with it. Will definitely need to purchase a new mouse in the future.

I have had a run of bad luck with mice being jittery, not holding a click, skipping, lagging, or just straight up breaking on me in the first few weeks of use. I’m not harsh with my setup, I use a solid black mouse pad, and I have up to date drivers, I just can’t seem to get a mouse that works. This is the first mouse in a very long time that has just worked, and it has been a breath of fresh air. I do dislike the required bloat ware for the mouse LEDs, and considering how much it runs in the background, I doubt it’s just managing my mouse, but the hardware is solid.

Recently got my hands on this sleek white mouse for my setup, and it’s quickly become a standout addition. Visually, it seamlessly fits into my all-white gear, bringing an upgraded aesthetic.Functionality-wise, it’s a game-changer. The clicks are perfectly balanced—neither too loud nor too soft. What sets it apart, though, is the ergonomic design. It feels tailor-made for my hand, ensuring a comfortable experience even during extended work sessions. No more hand strain or awkward grips. The mouse’s movements are impressively smooth, offering precise control like a well-choreographed dance across the screen. It’s more than just a tool; it’s a functional and stylish companion to my daily tasks. If you’re in the market for a mouse that not only complements your setup visually but also excels in performance and comfort, this one’s a solid choice. My workspace has levelled up, and the daily grind feels a whole lot better with this reliable companion. 👍

I have had two other Deathadder mouses. This is the lightest, cheapest one. The cord is regular plastic instead of nice braid. It’s a budget price for a budget mouse. I will gladly use it until I make sure to buy a more expensive one next time. I recommend it based on the price point, but a higher quality model is better from Razer.

I’ll start first by saying I have smaller hands so for me this isn’t my favorite mouse. Definitely good if you have a larger hands. It’s easy to use, very plug-in play, easy to grip, moves quickly. It’s just a little bulky for me. I gave it five stars because it does everything that it said it would it’s not their fault I have small hands lol

Responsive,Fast,Accurate,Light weight,Color lighting effects for such a minimal mouse.Buttons were a little loud out of the box but are getting better with time, wish the company made quieter mouses… “mice”?Overall, Excellent!

Really comfortable and great mouse otherwise if you know how to steady stream page scrolling.

I’ve had this mouse for almost a year now and love it! I work from home and needed a better mouse than what the company gave me and this did not disappoint. The best feature are the two buttons on the side for your thumb though. Once you get the hang of it you’ll never want a “normal” mouse again. My only complaint is that the left index finger button is beginning to stick a little. Besides that -great mouse!

The mouse overall feels nice and has two side key-binds that come in handy. I’ve had no issue with responsiveness and sensitivity. However, there is one main issue that may occur. When you get the mouse you need to download a software called Razer Synapse in order to change the dpi and everything for the mouse. This software is known to have issue and it took me quite a while to figure out a workaround to get the software running. Other than that everything is great and I would recommend.

  25. Janet S

It’s a simple mouse with a couple buttons. It’s a little light for me and lighter than my previous razors in the same category so it makes me think they are making them cheaper unfortunately. It’s not a serious gamers mouse if you want a lot of buttons or put weights in it. I’ve had some pretty crazy mouse devices. Be careful some of the software of these Razers. They’ve bombed my computer in the past. You can choose different color lights blah blah blah. It is what it is.

Edt October 12th, 2023 -On the 9th, the right click started acting funky. I restarted my PC and unplugged and replugged it in, and it fixed. However, I believe this was coincidental. On the 10th, the right click started acting HORRENDOUS. As in, triple clicking, clicking when not pressing, dropping clicks entirely… Restarting and replugging it did not change a thing. Tested on another PC, same issue. Swapped out cable extenders, same issue. Attempted plugging it directly into the PC, as inconvenient as that would be in my setup… still the issue. Multiple ports, no help.I firmly believe stuff happens. Quality control is not, and never will be perfect. I ended up reordering this mouse off Wal-Mart to see. So far it is working flawless. The mouse is incredible, I think I got unlucky here… again. I also ordered an EVGA X20 off Amazon. Hope it goes better, too. I still think overall I would recommend this product, as it wouldn’t have such a high rating so consistently if this happened incredibly often. I will dock a few starts, but I honestly still think the mouse it good.X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X-XOriginal post -I first ordered a Redragon M910K, and it was faulty. I decided to put 10 extra dollars in and order this mouse instead. Take note this is a day one review and if I have problems, I will update. Assume this is all still relevant if you see this review after a couple months and I haven’t edited it. First Impressions -Glide is good. Feels very smooth. -Cable pulls the mouse slightly due to the smooth glide. However, not much, and if your cable is tied forward, or simply going straight, you won’t notice it. Just don’t have your cable go off at an angle immediately and you need not to worry. -Feels very… non-durable? I wouldn’t slam it. If you aren’t a heavy rager, it should be fine. Hit your keyboard instead. NOT CHEAP FEELING THOUGH. Feels perfectly fine for this price! -Simple look. Black with Green LED’s. Perfect printing on the logo. -Side buttons are a bit high for me, if your thumb rests low like mine, you may have a hard time reaching them. That’s why the “Ergonomic” is a 4 star, but only from a personal stance not an overall stance. -Very Comfortable. Enough said Overall, I am very happy with this, and if this review is un-updated, I still am. Just waiting for the software to install to change my DPI currently. If you are looking for a good mouse below $30, this is a good mouse. A very good mouse. Would I recommend it at this price range? Yes. Best regards from a fat idiot

I’ve been using Razer gaming mice for much of my gaming career and while they’re never the cheapest option, they are the most durable and reliable I’ve found. Having tried several HyperX and Logitech mice, I can never get enough of my wired Razer mice. Fast, easily adjustable, the software to manage them is simple with no bs, and they look as good as they feel, I can only recommend Razer products. Razer mice are a bit difficult to clean, but not impossible either. I like this particular Razer mouse for the affordability, the mechanical scroll wheel, and the two side buttons.

I’ve had a hard time finding a mouse that’s adequate for butterfly-clicking and fits in my hand comfortably (my hands are pretty small). This mouse meets both of those requirements. The mouse buttons are the PERFECT size (in terms of surface area) for butterfly-clicking and the mouse itself isn’t huge like some of the other ones I’ve tried in the past. The extra buttons on the side are also perfect for custom key-binds. Not too few, not too many. It’s also really aesthetically pleasing. Looks great on my desk. Super ergonomic and high-quality. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a good mouse for speed-clicking.

The clicks are solid and firm, it feels great. It feels good and smooth on all the mouse pads I’ve tried. Very comfortable for my had. Thumb pads are molded into the shell but, while gaming you really don’t notice it a bit. Overall Great product for the price👍🏼

Good mouse, but it was slipping out of my hands as I lifted it. I put a grip pad on each side and now its great! The grips should have been installed from the factory.

It’s a razer mouse, what can I say? It works perfectly fine, and with a price you can’t argue with, it’s a great affordable gaming mouse.

I rebought this mouse because my kids broke my middle mouse wheel. I liked this mouse enough that I didn’t mind buying it again. I immediately noticed that the new one has a cheaper USB plug. The old one was gold plated, which allows for the electric current to travel faster. The new one is clearly not gold plated. I think it’s worth mentioning this so people can be aware of what they are buying.
