    1. Nightsong

Purchased these cutters for working on miniature models. They work great for cutting spruce and trimming excess resin or plastic from models. They have also worked great for small metal pieces but I wouldn’t cut anything too thick that is metal as these do have their limits. Lastly, they have worked well for cutting wire for electrical applications. They are very comfortable in hand and light weight. I love the shape of the grips. The jaws are well aligned. Overall very happy with the product and the price. These should last years but I’ll happily replace or try this brand again as-needed.

I had a different brand of micro cutter for wired circuit boards. The tip snapped off. I should have known as the tips on this brand didn’t line up and the manufacturer belt sanded the ends to make them better. The Hakkos have nice tips and are sharp. I tested them with a file to check hardness. They are hardened.Get these!

    4. Jimmah!

Ok, don’t go trying to cut 3/4 rebar and then complain that the jaws dulled. These are designed for clipping component lead or objects of similar size. But dang these are my favorite. Very comfortable, very sharp. A great tool at a very reasonable price.Buy it. Use it. Love it.

    5. Ifteker Uddin

It’s so sharp. Mine looks little bit rusty but it cuts so easily. Grip is good. This is what I needed for cutting my jewelry making wire . Works great 👍🏻✨👌🙏🏻❤️

    6. turbo_911

These cutters are pretty sharp, and look like quality is pretty good. The grip is good and cuts filament with ease. Have not tried cutting any wires with it (as that’s not what it was bought for)

    7. randomfindszon

Not the highest quality steel and you can see the imperfections in the handles. However, for under $10, these cutters are great and do the job. Why pay much more for something that will get worn out very quickly over time?

    8. Curly the Cat

Decent price for an established-brand flush cutter, beats using nail clippers for zip-ties, doesn’t leave behind a sharp nib when cut flush with the locking end of the zip-tie, slim enough to slip between the tie and a wire. Also works great on model kit sprues. I’d be cautious about cutting anything thicker or harder, but they’re cheap enough that keeping a spare nipper around won’t break the bank.

    9. Keir blank

Bought this model in 2014. It’s dealt with a full decade of heavy use and abuse. I’ve managed to finally break the tip of one of the snips. They’re still functioning well enough, but finally time for a fresh pair. I can’t think of anything else in my life that has cost me less than a dollar per year. Hopefully they still make them as well as they used to! Able to cut through plenty of materials easily. The grips are good but can slide off after repeated uses, just push them back on. Amazing value for money. Non offensive appearance. Can be used in a multitude of projects.Easy to use, just don’t dislodge the spring or they won’t return to the open position without fiddling with the spring to return it to its proper place.

I love this Product . It works great. Great Flush cutters. Can’t recommend high enough. The only reason I replaced is because I broke the tip on my old one doing something I should’ve been done with it anyway, but it was still cutting nice and smooth. It was a couple years old. Great price

    13. Crystal T.

The nippers cut really nicely through plastic. It closes fully so it can even cut small stickers that I use for my hobby. The grip is comfortable. I would definitely get another pair whenever I wear this one down.

I have had a chance to put tool to work. I needed tool to cut plastic parts from tree for model assembly. These cutters cut close and straight with a lot less filing or sanding. They seam sturdy and I believe they will last for a long time for what I use them for.

Small and compact, works well for cutting zip ties flush. After a week of heavy use, they’re just as sharp as the day I received them.

    18. Shnickelfritz

Reviews weren’t all glowing, especially from wire wrapping artists, and jewelers. I’m happy to say that they’ve done great. I was using them primarily on high quality 18 to 24 gauge copper wire, some even smaller gauge aluminum, I’d say that was 14. Nice clean flush cuts! Perfect for soldering even. Not to mention not a nick in them! I did use them some on beading 19 and 29 strand wire and they did the job fine there too. Highly recommend!

    19. MexicanRadio

Bought two years ago when my previous pair of flush cutters decided to snap a tip. Seemed like Hakko might be a good brand to try as a replacement, as I’ve had excellent results with my now “ancient” (and still functioning!) Hakko 936 soldering station.Handles are very comfortable, and provide a positive grip. Cuts very easily in their intended use: that of trimming electronic component leads and wiring. So far no significant evidence of wear, and no visible nicks to the edges. Spring return force is just about perfect for my liking, opening the cutters easily and not impeding making cuts. I recommend these often to friends as an extremely good value, long lasting tool.

Work great, strong, and sharp. This cutter is perfect for my work (PLC cable management). Most of other cutter won’t have clean cut on zip tie, this cutter offer super clean, flush cut!!!

Purchased to replace a 5 year old flush cutter that came with my Ender 3 that sadly deteriorated. This flush cutter is very reasonably priced and is comfortable to grip. Cutting performance is also great, using it for wires and other thin objects.

I have been in the electronics business for 40 years, so I know a thing or two about tools like this. These are nice and work quite well. Feel good in the hand and an excellent cut.

    24. William Maloney

These are excellent, sharp little cutters for a cheap price. You can see in the pictures there are two pair. The first set shown are still as new and you can see the blades are sharp and not damaged. In the later pictures you can see the other pair which has nicks in the blade near the tip. I mistakenly thought a small, thin piece of metal was light and light but was much stranger steel than I realized. Trying to cut this damaged the blade as shown in the photos. That pair still cuts but not quite as well as it did before. Still very well, just not as well.I realize I asked too much of them, albeit accidentally, but just posting this to show the limit isn’t very high. However if you stay within it, they are nice. The grip is comfortable and soft, the spring action is just the right strength and they are sized right for small jobs like zip ties etc.Even with the issue, I would still recommend these!

    25. Garret

These are really great, and I’ll likely buy another when these wear out. I thought they would be lower quality compared to Klein’s equivalent, but I was wrong. The Klein cutters feel terrible and become dull very fast. Hakko-CHP cutters are of far higher quality, feel great to use, and stay sharp for years.

    26. Luckymc

Nice clippers, these work well and fit in small spaces to make a cut. They’re a great price too.

    27. Pratu

Great quality microcutter and material used to build its quality material. Grip is god. Cutter sharpness is great and you can use in very small space like light bulbs to cut the edges. so far liked it.

I tried a more expensive brand but that one had issues, the raws would slide past each other instead of meeting up as they should. Sent it back, went with this cheaper option but it’s a good brand. This thing works great! I’m very satisfied. It’s well constructed, sharp, even cuts metal tabs off crimp pins with ease.

    29. peteygrizz

This is a great set of cutters at any price range, but especially for <$10. The grips are comfortable, the action is smooth with no wobble or undue resistance, and the cutters are precisely aligned and make nice, clean, and flush cuts. The small size makes it easy to get them into tight areas. I was also shocked to see they are marked made in Italy, rather than China. Italy has a long history of fine metal work, and these are very nice.

“I recently purchased the Hakko-CHP-170 Micro Cutter in red for PC cable sleeving project that I did, and it has become an essential tool in my toolkit. The precision and sharpness of the blades make it incredibly effective for cutting wires, small screws, and zip-ties. The compact size and ergonomic design make it easy to handle, providing excellent control during intricate tasks. The vibrant red color not only adds a touch of style and match my other Milwaukee tools. The build quality is impressive, ensuring durability for long-term use. I appreciate the safety lock feature that keeps the blades secure when not in use, adding an extra layer of protection.Whether you’re working on electronics, crafts, or any project requiring precision cutting, the Hakko-CHP-170 Micro Cutter is a reliable choice. It has exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend it to fellow DIY enthusiasts and professionals alike.”

I have recently started messing with a 3d printer. The printer came with a really cheap set of nippers and they worked fine so long as I only cut the printer filament. Once I cut something harder, they were ruined. So, I needed to replace them with something better. Bought these because they had good reviews. The nippers have a good strong edge to them, cut clean, and I think they will last.

Almost everything is Made in China these days, so I am delighted to see Italian craftsmanship and attention to quality in this nice tool that I use on electronic projects. The blades are machined to a close tolerance, the hingepin action is smooth, and the spring return is mounted well so that it won’t pop off the handle like cheap cutters would do. Highly recommended.

I originally tried another pair of wire cutters in order to snip apart my dies and it was just horrible. I wondered if they were all like that and the best one could do was use them to hold the die while you bend it off. But I decided to send those back and try another pair (these cutters). Lo and behold, these cutters work so nicely and actually cut through the die! Yay!
