Brought on our trip to Italy and my wife used it safely to use her hair dryer. Make sure to use the right plug (as labeled) for what you are using.

This voltage converter worked well on a recent trip to Europe. We were able to charge phones, watches, cameras, at the same time using for a hair dryer. A little big for packing but well worth the slight inconvenience since it prevented any overheating issue with our devices.

I loved that this Travel Voltage Converter arrived so promptly! I gave it to my significant other who took it to her home country in East Africa. It shall be used for many different rechargeable items: American cell phones, digital tablets, flashlights… The list goes on. I have not heard if the recharge efforts have been successful, but I am hoping so!

This came in so handy. Not only it can charge so many things at once (talking about three tablets, two phones, earpods, batter backups) but it does so in silence. The size is perfect considering the performance and it is excellent quality. Traveling with it is convenient with the included pouch. Would highly recommend.

I brought this to Italy with me my husband plugged his C-PAP in it, and I used it for my blow dryer brush as a voltage converter. It worked great and the fact that it had a long cord was even better because there was no plug next to the sides of the bed, so we kind of use it as an extension cord for his C-PAP. we had no issues and I used it in two different hotel rooms in two different cities. Sorrento and Rome.

Would be good if I needed for computer or other electronics, but I don’t. Returned for refund.

Used this while traveling to Paris in hopes of using a US hair dryer. Hair dryer was rated at 1100 W so it was well under the ratings this device says it supports. Device immediately sparked upon plugging in, hair dryer did not work, and it started to heat up. The other plug worked fine with lower wattage devices, but there are many smaller and more effective options if you are just trying to charge a phone.

I bought this for a trip to Europe and I was using it with no problem until today. I’ve been using it in the same outlet for days and didn’t have a problem until I started using my hair dryer today and it started going super loud and hard, making weird noises and smelling weird. I thought it was maybe that hair dryer so I used another one and that one just turned on and started making a crackling noise with a burnt smell. I literally lost over $600 because of this adapter, I have to buy new hair tools. I bought it because it’s supposed to control the voltage but it can’t even do that. I’ve literally never written a review before but I’m so upset that I lost so much money because now I have to buy new hair tools.

I really should have paid more attention to the photos, which show 4 plugs, for socket types A, G, I and L. You could make the case that I only have myself to blame for buying this travel voltage converter. However, the product description *explicitly* states under Plug Format that it comes with 5 plug types, “Type A, E/F, G, I, L”. You can scroll up and read it for yourself. However, it does *not* come with an E/F plug, which is used almost everywhere in Europe & Russia, except for the UK & Ireland. So this adapter will very probably *not* work in:Albania, Andorra, Angola, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cape Verde, Chad, Croatia, Egypt, Eritrea, Estonia, Finland, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Hungary, Iceland, Indonesia, Iran, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Mauritania, Moldova, Montenegro, Netherlands, Netherlands Antilles, New Caledonia, Niger, Norway, Paraguay, Portugal, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Sao Tom & Principe, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Suriname, Sweden, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Vietnam. But it *does* have an “L” plug, which is only used in Italy and Chile.Silly me, like so many Americans I’m going to France so this adapter is completely useless for my needs.

So when you’re out in the world, having one of these is a good idea if you keep devices with you that’s over 100w. This also doubles as a power distribution for your devices to share one 220-240v outlet. If you’re not versed in it, this power bar also changes the voltage from 220 to 120v. What kills a device is not the wattage or amperage, it’s the voltage so your devices will thank you for having it.I wasn’t able to truly test the higher wattage side since I was only travelling with a few laptops and camera gear. But the lower wattage side worked just as I expected and nothing blew up!Trust me, if you plug in somethign that isn’t 110/220v into a 220v power distribution, you will definitely get a burnt surprise. One thing you should know is that it doesn’t do anything about the Hertz of your power, so your motor will run slower by about 15% if you use this. It would really only affect refrigerators or power tools.Otherwise, this step down is well built and not as heavy as the one I’ve taken with me before and for that, it gets a RECOMMEND from me.

This converter adapter is perfect for travel – lots of places to plug in appliances, plus USB ports and a C port. And plugs for use around the world too! Hotels often have few available plugs, but this will solve all charging issues. It’s not a small, compact charger so I will probably put it in my suitcase rather than a carryon but I won’t mind one bit since it will solve all electrical issues while traveling!

I plugged in my 120V hair dryer and it completely doesn’t work. The USB ports all work but that isn’t the purpose I purchased this product for. I was initially skeptical at this price point; I should’ve followed my gut instincts. Be aware folks…

This step-down converter has 3 USB-A outlets, 1 USB-C outlet, 2 AC CONVERTER outlets, and 1 AC ADAPTER outlet. It’s important to note that the one AC outlet does NOT convert from 220-240 down to 100-140. Therefore, you must be aware of the difference, and be careful to use the proper outlet. The adapter outlet may be used for any of the many electronics and appliances that are now dual voltage. I just think it could be confusing, at least until you got used to it. One other caveat is that regarding the converter it says, “only use this product for short periods of time (approximately 10 minutes).” Since I tend to want to plug in electronics to recharge, and often will do that for extended periods, I’ll have to be careful to use the USB ports or the adapter outlet. Also, the converter outlets should not be used for “electronically switch heating appliances that have electronic timing, temperature control circuits or auto shut off function.” So my curling iron is out, but that can be used in the adapter outlet, or with an adapter in the wall. Bottom line: be careful what you plug in where. One surprising thing is that the converter sockets may be used for hair dryers, up to 2,000 watts, if it has a mechanical switch. That’s unusual for converters in my experience. The cord does not detach from the base, and I have to wonder if that is because it is heavier duty than most, and this way the user cannot replace it with a less robust power cord. It does come with a bag for packing, as well as adapter plugs for countries throughout the world. So it has some good points and will likely be quite sufficient for most travelers. But given the possible confusion in outlets, and the limitations on time of usage (but only for the converter outlets), I couldn’t give it a full 5 stars. I haven’t actually had a chance to use it outside the USA yet, but I’m going to assume it actually works, and if I have any issues I’ll update my review.

It was these statements that make the 220v to 110v Voltage Converter Adapter: Universal US to Europe Travel Power Strip Plug Transformer look so attractive of a buy. – “Robust and Safe Construction – Constructed with V0 flame retardant materials and reinforced fibers, our voltage converter kit offers superior safety and durability, surpassing standard safety ratings for reliable performance.Quiet and Safe Operation – Designed with over-current, temperature, short-circuit, and surge protection, this power converter ensures a quiet operation while maintaining a high safety standard for your peace of mind.”I have experienced using an adapter that had many of the same features that grew hot after a curling iron had been plugged into the outlet for only a few minutes. This one assured the buyer that safety and superior construction is a huge part of the product. That works well for me. Safety is vital to any product. After that I looked at the charging ports as well as the outlet for this global device compatibility which are great.

I bought this travel adapter and voltage converter specifically for cruises. The cruise ships have limited outlets and this will allow me to take advantage of the 220 European style outlet that is on the ship. This is a voltage converter and two of the outlets will step the voltage down from 2:20 to approximately 140. It is designed for heating appliances such as curling, irons and hair dryers. I don’t understand the technicalities but the two outlets on the left side will do this but only heating devices not for low current devices like chargers. The outlet on the right side is a us format but only provides the same voltage that comes in. So it could be used with a step down transformer as long as it can handle 220 volts. Also on the front are full size USB jacks and a USBC Jack. Perfect for traveling.
